Submitted the primary 7/10, was verified 8/4, and received the secondary today, 8/18. Plan on submitting soon.

This might be an unnecessary question, but I was a little thrown off by their prompt about time off in one's education. I didn't take time off during undergrad, but have obviously taken time between undergrad and the few post-bacc classes I have taken, etc.

Does this merit an explanation?

i think its only for time out in between your education, if you finished without any time off you should be fine!

In the materials about the school, they mention that they have a "positive attitude" towards non-traditional applicants. As a non-traditional applicant, I naturally find this interesting. Does anyone know of any numbers to back this up or is it just lip service?

I have a few questions regarding the "activities" section. 1. Would shadowing be considered any type of volunteering? 2. Where do you think I should list hospice volunteering (medical/non-medical)?

1. yes and 2. if you interacted/observed physicians and patients then yes to medical 🙂

Thanks. Also, what do you think I should write for position held if all I did as an emergency room volunteer was change beds and occassionally watch trauma? Can I just put down "volunteer" or "official bed changer?"

Haha, I thought that I was the only one doing the bed changing at the ER!

When I looked over my completed secondary (post submission), all the paragraphs merged together for the 'non-continuous education' question. Does anyone know if that is what the admissions dept. sees, or is it the nice format I put it in as?

got this secondary today (AMCAS verified June 11) and it really ticks me off. What the heck was the primary for?!!... if I was just going to have to restate everything on the secondary.

Anyways, just felt the need to vent.

totally agree! it seems like they are not planning on reading the primary 😕

I haven't received the secondary yet, I submitted the primary in the end of June:scared:

Anyone know how stringent they are about the non-science letter requirement? I don't really have a "non-science," unless you count a research letter

Like most people who have replied on this thread, I haven't gotten my secondary from Drexel yet. I was verified 7/15.. but I am glad that I don't have to worry about it just yet, even if it is a relatively quick secondary. I end up spending 1 hour on secondaries other people say takes 5 minutes, anyway :corny:

I just got this secondary yesterday and I was verified 7/24. Its coming!

For those who submitted it already, how long did it take for your status to change to complete on their website?

same, sometimes i wonder about that whole apply early thing...i think its somewhat a sdn myth lol...there really doesnt seem to be a diff as long as you are verified sometime before the end of july. I dont have it either and was verified 6/3, not a big deal though.

Yeah, I'm beginning to realize that you really don't need to turn in your app on the very first day. I applied super early too, and there are schools where I was complete way before people who have already heard about interviews. Sigh.
