Yea mine changed pretty much every two weeks..

during interview time it was that interview scheduled thing

couple weeks after it was that its being reviewed, has not been sent to comittee

a week later it changed to sent to comittee, no final decision

couple weeks later (Nov. 12) it became final decision will be mailed

Now im just freaking out hoping that it's a Monstrous welcome packet from Drexel

I thought Drexel was supposed to be fast with giving you a decision. I've had my stuff in since the end of August and still have 'No decision is currently available.'
 
I was under the impression that no school did interviews on a saturday but I just rescheduled my interview online for saturday 12/5, odd? 😕

thanks I was really excited for the early date, but became overwhelmed with fear that is was a mistake good to know!

To those who already interviewed where did you stay? I am hoping to stay at my friends apartment but its late notice and I'm traveling from Long Island, NY eek!
 
Ok, maybe I am overthinking this..but I forgot the name of my student interviewer. Do you guys think it looks bad on my part if I ask the admissions office to find out for me? I want to send the student a thank you note...
 
how long does it take to get the decision letter once your status change that a decision has been made? my status changed last fri.

it wont even matter. Your student has already probably written his part of the eval and turn it in. Therefore by the time he gets your email or letter, it will have no bearing on what they write. Not to mention this is true in most cases. A TY note isnt going to make a difference 99% of the time.
 
My post-interview status still hasn't changed from "under review...no decision has been made." I have had this status for over two weeks. I know the committee meetings are on Thursdays so hopefully I'll get an update today! It has only been a bit over a month since my interview so I'm not holding my breath lol.
 
I cant believe how long it is taking them with my application. I guess they are not that interested in me. This is the only school that I am still waiting on to hear from initially. I would really like to see some action out of them! It is so stressful playing the waiting game.

but the ty note is actually just something i want to do to show appreciation, I don't really intend it to have any bearing.

btw, can i ask was your student interview mostly you asking questions or him/her asking you questions?

no real questions, i asked him a few but he didnt ask me much. The student interview isnt meant to be a formal interview...its more can you hold a decent interesting conversation with them for 30-40 mins or so. We talked mostly about non-medical things outside of the questions i had about drexel. like we were talking about the phillys, nfl, etc etc.. just w/e. They said the point is would they like you as a future classmate thats basically the extent of the eval at least as far as i understood it. so not too much stress but obviously a student saying they think your social skills lack and they wouldnt like to have you as a future colleague is not a good sign 😉
 
Has anyone's status changed today? I thought for sure mine would have, it has been three weeks since the interview and still doesn't say under review.

Well now they are pretty deep in applications. It took a couple weeks for mine to change so dont worry, they take there sweet time with some people and speed through some applications. Either way, it doesn't mean much in terms of acceptance/rejections from what I've heard, all you can do is wait. I've been waiting since the first week of october, now I am finally getting my decision letter, hopefully this weekend. at the pace they run things, ill prolly get it next christmas!
 
my status just changed to a final decision has been made! I interviewed on october 15th.:scared:

Me too. I was interviewed on October 13th. Anyone have ideas about how long for them to mail out decisions?

I've heard it takes about 7-10 days but with the holiday it may take longer
 
Accepted on 11/9, I think my interview was exactly a month before that...10/9 im pretty sure. But an acceptance at Temple and Jefferson...had to withdraw from Drexel. Good luck everyone!
 
what are the chances of being admitted from the waitlist? and what should i do during the period of waiting besides sending them my updated transcript?
 
I attended my interview on Oct. 5th and still no decision has been made. That's 7 weeks now. my status reads "Your file is currently under review by a member of the admissions committee and will be sent to committee shortly. No decision has yet been made regarding your admission status to Drexel University. "

1st of all, I can't make any sense of this. My file is with a member of the adm. com. but it will soon be sent to the adm. com. Does anyone know what is going on? Does not getting a response for this long mean I am on the waitlist? pple that have interviewed after me are getting decisions made.

I've called the admissions committee two times now, and each time they use the same reason for the lateness... "we didn't meet last thursday, so your file will be seen soon." From the looks of it (many ppl are getting status changes) they are meeting. What should I do? Saqrfara, you seem to have answers, can you clear things up a little for me?

They didn't MEET last THURSDAY! Damn it, next week is thanksgiving and they certainly won't meet then. That's a two weeks delay. Christmas towards the end of December going to make it even more longer for many of us to hear back. Honestly, why can't they just make a decision on the day of the interview. Everthing is fresh on their minds on the current day. Ok ok, maybe i'm asking too much on the last statement but still, they could really speed things up a bit if they only had motivation...like a gift card for completing early or a free hug from a student.

I interviewed Oct. 6th and my status hasn't even changed to the one that you have now. Mine is still saying to wait 6-8 weeks after my interview to receive my decision. It's week 7 and my file hasn't even been handed to a reviewer yet.

I emailed them a week ago but didn't get a response. Mailed in a letter of intent a few days ago. I think I'll start emailing them "updates" every week... Let's see how long they can ignore me...
 
Judging from the previous year's thread a lot of people were in the situation waiting > 6 weeks and many of them did get in after waiting 3 months. I don't really know why there is such variation with decisions, it may have to do with whoever interviewed you sending in notes or the person that is reviewing your file pre-committee getting everything organized.. idk?

god in heaven...there goes my hopes of hearing back before new years..
 
anyone stay at a hotel in center city philly? any recommendations?

i cant get a student host and want to stay in center city since ill wont leave till the morning after my interview. might as well check out the city with my free time.
 
I checked my status Today and it has changed to:
Your file is currently under review by a member of the admissions committee and will be sent to committee shortly. No decision has yet been made regarding your admission status to Drexel University.

I guess they are meeting early for this week? :luck::luck:👍

When did you interview? It has been about 4 weeks since my interview and have not seen any change in status.

Nov 3rd. It has been exactly 3 weeks for me. This is the first status change i received. Although some people who interviewed on the same day had a status change in 2 weeks as well. I would be happy to have a decision reached before Christmas. Best of Luck dude.
 
Any chance for me to receive the decision letter today or tomorrow if I got the final decision status last Friday?

Congrats! It must be nice to know that you are going to be an MD no matter what else happens this cycle.


BTW, I was complete here like late August, and "no decision is currently available". Should I call these people, email them, or just continue eating ice cream and try to get as fat as possible to cope with the stress?
 
I have an interview scheduled in Jan, but I want to withdraw completely. Can this be done via email (if so, anyone know which address?) or should I snail mail a letter?
