Post interview, how long does it usually take after you're status changes online to a 'Decision has been made' to receive snail mail? I'm in cali btw...

It took 8 days...I'm in Florida
 
It took 10 days (total, not business days) for my letter to reach California.

Yeah that's after the final decision status. Here's my time line:

Complete mid-August.
Interview September 30th.
Final decision status October 23rd.
Letter dated October 26th.
Received November 2nd.

Okay, I'm a few cycles removed from the application process, but this might help some of you make sense of the status messages. Forgive me if there are some in-between statuses that I'm forgetting. It's been a while.

Pre-interview message "Letter will be mailed" = rejection
Pre-interview message "Re-review later" = hold

Once you've had your interview, you will get a few different status messages:

Thank you for scheduling your interview -> Under review by a member of the ADCOM -> Under review by the committee -> Decision reached, letter mailed

This can culminate in a rejection, acceptance or waitlist.

"Under review by a member of the ADCOM" means a single person is looking over your application and they will present it to the committee later.

"Under review by the committee" means that your application has reached the committee room and they'll look over and vote on it.

Status finally changed (pre-interview) after about 4 months: Thank you for your application. Your file has been reviewed and will be re-evaluated later in the season for a final decision.

Hold for me. Guess it's better than a rejection!

Are you on the wrong forum? I'm guessing hold didn't turn into an interview at drexel. I really hope somebody has it turn into an invite for drexel soon so that I feel like there's still hope.

i got the same thing. does that mean there might an interview next spring?
 
I too have received the pseudo rejection message. It only took 4 months, but just in time for Christmas.

easy app, relatively low stats and no state pref, not a bad school or location

i really have a hard time understanding who they invite tho. i thought id be a good candidate for this school but i guess not.
 
Does anyone know if you even need to withdraw if you never got an interview? Complete since Sep and the perpetual "under review" status...
 
I just checked my status today and saw I was invited for interview. I scheduled for March 1 since the week of Feb 16 I already have tickets to go to Vancouver for the olympics.

I have no idea how long that invite was standing. I was complete Oct 25. Does anyone know how they notify you of an invite? I never recieved an email or letter or any other form of communication

The invite first shows up on you're status and after a couple of weeks they eventually email to inform you. I'm assuming it probably hasn't been there for too long if you haven't received the email yet.
 
Final decision FINALLY made after 7 weeks post-Interview.
 
7 weeks in and still under review by committee member, sent to committee shortly my ass.

Wow! Your committee member must be in love with your application. When did you interview? I interviewed on 11/03/09.

I also interviewed on 11/3 and finally have a decision as of today...

i interviewed on the same day and i now have the final decision letter sent. Not sure how long ago it changed but it must have been within the past week as about 10 days ago i checked and i was still under review by committee. Of all 8 interviews this was by far the worst ive had, things just went horribly lol...wonder if itll be a rejection.

funny, i interviewed on the same day lol. guess my reviewer cant make up their mind about me, because if they hated me i would been reviewed quickly, and if they loved me, same scenario.

o well. i'll wait till 9 weeks, if i dont move to the committee i'll send them a call.

Did anyone stay at the [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Moving Arts Bed and Respite for their interview at Drexel and if so would you recommend it?

So my status was already updated to 'sent to committee' and now it went back to 'review by member, will be sent to committee shortly' loll
 
LOL...maybe it means they didnt get to your file in the meeting?

screw this school and their process...

you know the drill.... when you were you complete/how did you find out/IS or OOS etc.....

Good luck dude...I'm sitting at 9+ weeks post interview and its still just at the reviewer stage
 
Wow so many final status letters today... I got that status today too. Also interviewed 11/3
 
I hope they weren't mean enough to send any rejections in this batch. Getting a rejection right after Christmas/before New Years would be a bit brutal.

Accepted! Letter dated 12/21. Status changed 12/17. OOS. 31 MCAT, 3.4 GPA.
