It's nice to interview in September since it's early, but the sim center had not opened yet when I went for the campus tour. Does anyone know if there are any pictures or anything of the sort? I searched but could not find anything.

It has nothing to do with my school choice, but I want to get excited because 1.) I really liked Drexel more than expected on interview day (no expectations going in) 2.) There's a good chance I'll end up matriculating here and 3.) I'm bored and there's nothing new on textsfromlastnight.com

Thanks!

I don't know of any pictures, unfortunately.

does anyone know if the adcom ranks applicants by tiers? i heard that some schools put interviewed applicants into "tiers" and often respond to those in the highest tier first. its like a step before being waitlisted? or are they just skipping the applicants that interviewed in Oct/Nov bc they feel like it? am i the only one waiting 17+ weeks post-interview with no decision?

I'm at 16 weeks, if that makes you feel any better 🙁

When i called the admin office last week she said they are meeting last friday and should have a decision change on Monday if I am in the batch.....but unfortunately I am not. This of course is quite upsetting and I truly hope I have an acceptance somewhere else so I do not have to rely on a speedy reply from Drexel

I've never heard of tiers being used at Drexel.

For those of you who interviewed already, how long did it take to get your decision in the mail after your status changed online? Because my status changed 3 1/2 weeks ago saying that the decision was being mailed and i still have not received it yet. Thanks!!

I interviewed in mid Feb, and my status changed to "file under review by committee". That was fast, I think! Hope they reach a decision soon.

How long did it take to change from "commitee member" to "commitee"?
I interviewed 01/19 and my status changed to "commitee member" last week.

lucky! i also interviewed in mid-feb, but still have the "your interview has been scheduled" status. my interview was right after the second big snowstorm and things were pretty chaotic at drexel, so i'm just hoping my file made it into the "to be reviewed" pile and isn't lost in some dusty corner, lol.

Hmmmm...I didn't know there was a difference. This is the first time my status changed since interview, and this is exactly what is says "Your file is currently under review by the admissions committee. No decision has yet been made regarding your admission status to Drexel of University"....I need them to make a decision like ASAP

We prolly interviewed the same week, so I'm thinking your status should change some time soon!😀

Haha I would love to be in your shoes....I interviewed 1/11 and "your interview has been schedules" status still taunts me!

I guess it depends on the interviewer. If they turn in whatever it is that they have to turn in early, then your file gets sent to the committee right away. But some people have had the "under committee review" status for months, so I am not really getting excited about it.

Does anyone have insight as to what goes on until the 3pm trip to Body Worlds? BTW, it's an awesome exhibit and I'm looking forward to seeing it again!

i'm guessing presentations about curricular
options, student activities, living in Philadelphia, financial aid...

probably some lunch time to meet with future classmates and talk to current students and faculty.

I interviewed in the beginning of January and my status has been since a week or so after I interviewed

" Your file is currently under review by a member of the admissions committee and will be sent to committee shortly. No decision has yet been made regarding your admission status to Drexel University. "

Where can we get more info about the Second Look day on the 27th? I haven't received an email or snail mail about this. Thanks.

A final decision has been reached and a letter will be mailed to your preferred address--status changed today

interviewed on 12/07.

No email. I checked on Monday and found my status had changed.

i wonder if decisions will start speeding up as we get closer to the may 15th deadline? based on drexel's current snail-like pace of application review there's a good chance people who interview in march, april (god help you if you interview here in april), or even february won't have a decision by then. for those people who are already accepted somewhere else, they will decide to go to another school, get all their financial info, and be on their merry way unless they're gung-ho drexel-or-die types, but then you have to forfeit a security deposit, etc. etc. and who wants to do that? seems like drexel (and us, of course) would be a lot better off if all decisions were made before may 15th, lol

Seems like kind of a small distinction, but my status changed yesterday to "A final decision has been reached..." and a friend of mine's status changed yesterday as well to "A decision has been reached..." For those of you who were accepted/waitlisted/rejected, I was wondering if there was any correlation between which status change update you get and the overall decision.

Are you sure that you two don't have the same status?

Yes I've seen both. We both interviewed and were both evaluated by committee before getting our different statuses. My status had the word "final" while my friend's did not, otherwise they were identical. It could be insignificant but I was just seeing if it makes a difference in what decision you end up getting.

I've never seen or heard of this distinction. I wouldn't look too much into it.

Congrads to all the accepted. Does anyone know how to officially withdraw? I would like to do it quickly to help all those waiting...

status changed to "a decision has been reached and a letter will be mailed to a preferred address". do they change your status when the letter is actually sent? and has anyone received a background check email?

so much waiting and i am so relieved to have a decision. i was beginning to think my application had mysteriously vanished 🙂

You won't get any more status updates. That's the last one.

8 weeks post interview today......."Interview has been scheduled, please allow 6-8 weeks..."....oh man🙁

im 8+ weeks post interview too, but ive been at the committee for 3+ weeks... i wonder if that just means my interviewers got their papers in faster?

I'm at 8+ weeks post interview. My status is still, "its in the hands of a member of the committee"
I'm hoping its infront of the committee already and they just haven't updated the status

Did anyone go straight from the message saying it was Your file is currently under review by a member of the admissions committee and will be sent to committee shortly to the decision has been mailed status?

Your status won't change now. If the letter hasn't been mailed out, it will be a few days. You can even call in anonymously if you really wanna know when it got sent out.

Any other early January interviewee final decisions out there? By the look of it, early to mid December interviews are getting the final decision status at the moment. I wonder how long they will take to get to the 1/9 interview peeps...

I've been fortunate enough to get a quick turnaround from member to committee, but this anxiety is killing me!

final status on friday and background check email from AMCAS today. does it mean i should expect a fat envelope from Drexel?

Don't get your hopes up too high until you get that packet, but I remember reading somewhere background checks for waitlist spots don't occur until the summer time so it prob is an acceptance.

Good luck to all those with final decision letters in the mail!

Is there anyone else out there who interviewed back in November and is still waiting for a final decision status?? Could they have forgotten about us/me? (Im 17 weeks post interview)

Bear,
I'm in the same boat. Checked all the previous posts and didn't see anyone whos status changed from "member" straight to "final decision". May be we are reviewed by the same "member" who didn't submit the paperwork to the committee yet 🙂
