Interesting that we haven't heard any Georgia acceptances yet..I mean it is like a 6 hour drive from da ATL. They admit plenty, like 5 of the students I met during my interview day were from Georgia.

Lol, I'm pretty sure he is in my class at school. He already withdrew from everywhere to go to Duke btw. Great call, especially if ur gonna be there 8 years and u want the wife to be happy.
 
I think my blood pressure has averaged 200/120 for these past 2 weeks.

Maybe just seven year, considering that there is 1 LESS year of bacis science @ Duke. BTW, it is tempted to go for/change to MSTP if you guys end up going to Duke, since you have one extra year(3rd) to do research.
 
I can't believe this garbage. My mailman didn't show up today. Isn't mail supposed to be sent every day?!

hmm lets just wait, i mean they did say they are sending some today, and someone who interviewed pretty late (1/25) got in, i think there were just 2 weeks left after that, so im sure its not like they are sending the earlier interviewees earlier, maybe just the top top ones, cuz if u look, most of them have highhhhh stats, not that duke is all about numbers...ugh i said id delete this, lol ok i have addiction problems...

he's saying maybe you didnt get anything in the mail, so nothing else was in there too, not just that they forgot ur house today, but lets hope they forgot your house today...
 
A guy I know here in Chapel Hill got a letter on Saturday. Completely ruined my night because I was hoping for a letter, an since he got one I figured my chances were shot.

for what it's worth, i didn't receive anything today. but i'm not really expecting to. i'm about 20 miles north of manhattan.
 
Stupid emails...I wonder when they are sending those WL/rejection emails...
I think people at the Duke office will be too annoyed by phonecalls to tell us when emails are being sent....sigh!

Ha, that actually makes sense. Although, I have been lying in wait for the mailman like a dog, so I don't think I missed him.

I think the mailman might have realized that if he stopped showing up for work for a week, just about no one would notice.
 
I just got the big envelope. I'm in Northern California, and this is my first acceptance. I am ecstatic.

Well....NY is slow with everything...hopefully. I wonder if upstate mail travels through NYC area first...seems logical considering the population differences.

quiet out in Kansas...crickets....well, locusts. no mail or email. pony express is usually pretty fast.

Has anyone counted the acceptances? For all the people watching this thread, it doesn't seem to be very many.

one questio, were you all interviewed at the school? or are there regional and virtual acceptees too...I am trying to figure out if that affects how fast your decision is made...also do you guys think all the acceptances were sent out on friday? I am in PA and wondering if i shd lose hope period... i also had a regional interview

At the school in mid-November. I wouldn't imagine it would make a difference, but who knows. Hoping for some big mail for you tomorrow!

I can't believe it. Congrats to all the other accepted applicants! See you guys at Second Look.
 
This so nerve wracking...I saw the Pacific Northwest acceptance and got really nervous, because that's where I am! Congrats Bigman. Still stuck at home though, with all my mail at school, so no idea if I am in or not. There could be a nice fat envelope in the school mailroom, and there might not.

Congrats to those who did get in. I hope you all have a sense of peace about life. I won't have one until Thursday at the very earliest.

I'm rooting for all you guys who haven't heard back yet. I was in the exact same boat 24 hours ago so believe me when I say I know how you feel. I interviewed on the Duke campus in mid-October and did not feel as though I interviewed well.
 
I spoke to the secretary earlier today. She indicated that emails may not go out until later this week. 🙁

I interviewed in October too, and thought I did awful. There was a bunch of problems with my plane and stuff so I arrived totally exhausted. Hopefully the rest of my app balanced my tiredness.
 
sorry. i wonder how many acceptances they sent out in the batch today. oh god im hoping they sent half on friday, half today. highly unlikely though. who knows.

the same thing happened to me. i was delayed for 10 hours getting into raleigh durham and got to my student host's place at like 2 AM. then i was up at 6:30 to get ready for the interview 😴

i really thought i bombed too but i guess you never know. good luck!
 
i'm waiting for financial aid, but duke makes me happy 🙂
 
hmm, any thoughts on a job for next year? i need to look now. 10 interviews, 9 waitslists/rejections i bet, not hoping for the last one...and i find out about that one in april, so if it's a no go, id need to have looked for a job before then...
