I think she mentioned that there were 40-50 interviewees being considered for the acceptances (this may be the total number of people in limbo including recent interviewees). I didn't ask her. She gave me the other info in the beginning and I was thankful for that in the first place. I hope there are a decent amount of slots! :xf:
 
Hi everyone,

I sent an email to admissions asking about my status (still in limbo!!). They sent back the following reply:

[FONT=Default Sans Serif,Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif]There are still some decisions to be made particularly for those applicants who interviewed with a regional alum or virtually. The admissions committee has been asked to complete all evaluations by the middle to the end of next week and we anticipate sending out all remaining decisions (accepts, wait lists, and rejections) by next Friday..

Hopefully that helps the rest of you in the same boat as me. Good luck!!!:luck:

at this point im just like blargh...it would be my luck to have an interviewer send my evaluation in late

Wow, I actually got waitlisted.

I'm kind of shocked.

I spoke to someone at the finaid office on the phone yesterday to check that they had received my documents and they told me that they are hoping to get things finalized and start sending things out by the beginning of April assuming you've submitted everything in time.
 
Thanks for the heads up, duky. So I guess we should know something prior to second look.

For those on the waitlist, did anyone go on to complete financial aid forms (FAFSA & Need Access)?

I sent them FAFSA, just because I had to do that for other schools anyways. I forgot about Need Access... if it's short I might do that soon too

Is it short?!? You better pack a lunch...

I recommend that everyone get started ASAP, it is requires much more detail than FAFSA. Much more. The upshot is that it will force you to come up with a budget if you haven't done that already.
 
so im convinced that Duke just greatly dislikes me and want me to keep waiting forever...at this point i just want a freaking response...*freaks out*
 
would calling/emailing richard wallace or some other person be of any use now? or are we to wait indefinitely? This just seems weird
 
I'm not going to want to go so badly if they let us in as an afterthought a month after the fact.
 
if someone talked to duke admissions recently, can you please let us know what the status for us who are in limbo is? it's been almost 2 weeks and still no news.
 
just give them a call; they gave you a timeline (by the end of this week, right?) and i think it's perfectly reasonable to check in and see what's going on

The reply to my thank you told me early the this week. I called them yesterday and they told me that Dr. Armstrong is out of town today / tomorrow, the committee still needs to meet, and that I'll hear from them on Monday.

oh well if theres anything i learn from this all is the importance of patience...*shrugs* im just gonna chill and have a great weekend, you all should too
 
Duke told me that they hoped to get news out by last Friday. I thought that they'd at least let us know today. I'm still in limbo too. Has anyone heard anything yet?

nope. nothing from them for me yet.
 
Didn't hear from them today. Tried calling at 4 PM EST, went to voicemail. I'll try calling tomorrow afternoon I guess.

Yes, it says their office is open until 4:30 but I've never been able to reach anyone past 3:30 or so. Your best bet is morning or just after lunch.
 
I just called... was told that I'd know by the end of the week, decisions seem to have been made and letters were being prepared to be sent out.
 
So how do we get decisions? If we're accepted, we get mailed a packet pretty quickly right? And if we're rejected or waitlisted, do we get an email later or is it a snail mail letter?
