competitive applicant pool is a fancy way to saying "waitlist". I don't know why, but a lot of medical schools are trying to shy away from saying the "W" word. They all call it something other than a waitlist.

Although a waitlist here is pretty good news, I am still so bummed. I really wanted to cancel some interviews, now I cant... Guess its time to write my letter to sullivan.

that would be weird if they told you that because i definitely remember ms. sullivan saying they reject about the same number they accept (about 1/4 accepts, 1/4 rejects, 1/2 waitlists)

do you mean like the first day of the adcoms meeting and deciding on us was last thurs? i didnt know that-it makes sense that they only got through 2 weeks of interviews if thats the case

I don't think they've sent out any for some time. I suspect that they'll get back to the pre-interview people now, so hopefully we'll hear something soon.

Hey man, I'm pretty depressed as well. Another waitlist for me! Oh hooray! All the time and money I pour into this admissions process isn't paying off. This sucks. Looks like I'll be drafting a letter as well. I hope they respond quickly and with good news. Good luck!

Yea man, I feel your pain. I really wish I had put this interview for my second or third and not my first. I think my interview jitters got to me. But I hear the waitlist is still a good avenue to an acceptance.
Yeah, I know what ya mean, but a waitlist is so much better than a denial. There are so FEW straight out acceptances here, its crazy. We're all gonna make it in!

Rejected after not hearing a word since submitting the secondary. Not fun news to hear right before taking a midterm. 🙁

I just interviewed here on Thursday. Turns out Mrs. Sullivan was the same admissions officer I spoke with on a visit to G-Town a couple of years ago. Unfortunately, she wasn't terribly impressed with my application then, and I don't think she will be now. We'll see what happens.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Ms. Sullivan say that if we get waitlisted, after we submit our letter and if we asked where we are on the waitlist that they would tell us our exact spot and how many were ahead of us?
Anyone know off the top of their head what tuition is this year at Gtown (plus any other required fees like insurance, computer, etc.)

Just to give those of you waiting for an interview some hope, I was complete on July 30 and I didn't get an interview invitation until October 7, with no correspondence at all in between. Georgetown seems to take their time... (with some applicants at least)

Has anyone gotten a server error message for secondary application fee payment???? I got it 3 times, using both IE and FireFox. I couldn't submit the application b/c my payment was incomplete..... I sent an email to them just now....

I was marked "complete" on Sep. 2 and received an interview invite on Oct. 6 for mid November. I wouldnt worry about not hearing from them though, I went to Georgetown for undergrad so maybe they're interviewing alum first? I'm not sure, but I wouldnt worry, I had tons of friends who applied last year and didnt hear back until December and January despite applying late August/early September (and many of them got in 🙂
