From what I've heard, they're planning to decide around March or so. So it sounds like you should know before you have to make any decision. And they started the curriculum changes with my class this year, to make everything more integrated and so that everything you're takinf is wrapped up into one class at a time.

lol obviously "next year" means next academic year (10-11). I dunno what YOU got on your MCAT verbal section, but if it's anything above a 5, I'm gonna say you cheated. Such crummy logic. Hope you fare a little better next app cycle! :luck:

This is exactly what I would like to know. 11/16 interview here, I fall right in the middle of things and am so nervous. An 11/20 got in but they seem to be a rare exception, no one else past 11/10 or so seems to have heard back. Or maybe this is just wishful thinking on my part.

I think we just have to wait and see. I think there is a cutoff sometime in mid-late November. I interviewed on 11/30, and I'm pretty sure no one that interviewed that late has heard yet, so I'm keeping my hopes up. Maybe the 11/20 guy made a mistake and really interviewed earlier or something.
 
Ok, so maybe the answer to my question is just completely obvious and that is why it is not getting answered, but por favor just humor me!

I interviewed in october. I did not hear back. Am I definitely rejected or waitlisted? Does my app get reviewed again prior to march or is the decision already made?

Plesse just be reminded that SDN does not account for anywhere near the entire population of those accepted into NYU or medical school.

And the 11/20 guy did not make a mistake... i interviewed on the 20th of November and got in right before christmas. I am only ONE person on SDN.. i'm sure there are others.
 
I believe they will re-evaluate the applicants in March and some people last year who were passed over did get in. But i am not completely sure.

I interviewed 11/16 too. 🙂 Maybe I saw you there? Yeah, looks like we are stuck waiting.

I know I have till March but... I'm starting to lose hope here. I guess it just wasn't meant to be. 🙁

At my interview, the admission person said that everybody would receive a decision by March 1st or 2nd at the latest. I'm sure those dates are subject to change, but the bottom line is that everyone can expect a decision by late Feb/early March.
 
They gave me the same March 1st/2nd date. Apparently all decisions for all applicants, regardless of decision or status, will go out on that date. :xf:

BTW, this week is the last week of interviews at NYU.
 
Sent an update letter about two weeks ago. Haven't heard anything back. 🙁 Has anyone who sent on in gotten a response or should I call to check they received it?

quick update from the NYU grapevine:


Apparently, NYU med just purchased the undergrad dorm a few blocks away (all apartment style 25 floor dorm). Rubin hall, aka the terribly old (but lovable) dormitory in the medical center will be being knocked down to make way for a new neuroscience in the very near future.

No official announcement has been made, but there is a good chance there will be no Rubin THIS UPCOMING YEAR. So for those of you who see rubin as a negative aspect of this school....you may be erasing that off the con-list very soon (which would leave nothing left right? 👍)

Don't consider any of this as set in stone, just something to think about/pay attention to in the near future.

Not sure of the address, but I believe it is on (or near) 26th St. The way I see it, getting outside and walking a few blocks (past Bellevue) to class every day is 👍.

Me too!!! Was super excited and wanted to post right away but sdn was not working. Omg!!! My no. 1 choice!!! Totally unexpected as they said March 1st...woah. Now I can celebrate!!!! Good luck to everyone waiting to hear back!!!

Got the acceptance e-mail as well 🙂 !!! Interviewed Jan. 5th. Didn't expect to hear back so soon... NYU is definitely one my favorite schools! Had a wonderful experience with faculty and students.

I interviewed Dec 9th. Maybe call the ad. office? Perhaps they are doing acceptances in waves? My interviewer did tell me that admissions look at you after they fill out the eval...so maybe it depends on how fast/tardy yr interviewer may be?

Did anyone hear who interviewed during the last two weeks of the interview season (01/18 - 01/29)? Thanks, and congrats to those who were accepted today!
 
Sigh. 11/16 interviewee here, haven't heard jack. Interview went SO well too. Congrats to everyone else who has been accepted so far.
 
interviewed 12/2. accepted 02/01.
 
so if we interviewed earlier like October and didnt hear back, we most likely didnt get in????
 
anyone know if the status will change on the website post-interview before you get an acceptance e-mail or letter in the mail? is it pointless that i check 10x a day?

My online status changed a couple hours before I received the email, so yes, keep on checking, but not necessarily 10 x daily...
 
Did anyone get an acceptance who interviewed before 11/20 (for this round). This seemed to have been the cut-off for the first round of acceptances in early January.
 
Congrats to everyone who was accepted. Just out of curiosity, did any of you send in update/interest emails?
 
11/16 interviewee. Interview didn't go too well. I'm expecting a rejection since haven't heard anything. NYU, if you're gonna reject me do it soon please!

They still have to accept some people between now and March 1st. If they had already accepted the class, they would just send out waitlists and rejects now. It seems they have gone through the applicants once over in two batches (up to around Nov 20 and up to late december?). I am guessing they will now go through and see if they passed over anyone they like.
 
Has anyone who interviewed on 11/16 been accepted? I know someone from 11/20 was accepted but seems like most of the rest are october, december, or january... wondering if I can hold onto some hope here.

Today I got an email from NYU, and I was really excited

and then I realized it was just the interview survey 🙁

The wait is killing me.
