Ok my little dumplings,
I spoke to Ms. Levine at admissions about the second look program and here's what I've gathered:
I will almost def be one of the people you can follow. This means (for all you yet to interview) that I will also be a tour guide. This whole thing starts second semester (Jan 4th) and goes til the end of the year (late May to early June).
You can choose your day, but they stick you with whoever is giving the program that day (whichever MS1). You will follow them on their day to whichever activities you like (usually lectures from 9-12, then a free lunch, then either CBL, problem sets, or anatomy in the afternoon). You can ask all the questions you like, and can see the dorms and student center and whatever else you want to see.
And now, for your analyzing pleasure, I will break down the remaining blocks into timeframe and approximate content, so as to help you decide when to come say hi:
1/4-1/14: Cardio block: NO ANATOMY-lectures in the morning and CBL/histo lab/how to do ECG or ECHO in the afternoon
1/15-1/28: Respiratory Block: ONLY 1 ANATOMY LAB-lectures in the morning and CBL/histo lab in the afternoon
2/2-3/16: Gastrointestinal Block-LOTS OF ANATOMY, but anatomy finishes on 3/1-Lectures in the morning, and anatomy/CBL/histo lab in the afternoon
3/19-4/27: Renal/Repro/Endocrine Block: NO ANATOMY-lectures in the morning and CBL/histo lab/group problem sets in the afternoon
5/3-4/9: Neuro Block: ONLY ANATOMY IS WET BRAIN DISSECTION from 5/3-5/17 on certain days-lecture in the morning and anatomy/CBL/histo lab/problem sets in the afternoon
REMEMBER!!! Thursday of each week is reserved for Essentials of Clinical Medicine...so if you want to see what a subject block feels like, do not come on thursday! (I don't know if they are restricting which days you can visit)
...that being said, if they allow thursdays and you want to see ECM lectures by all means come.
If you guys have any specific questions on the schedule of certain dates, please don't hesitate to ask!
Hope this helped 😀
