interview 2nd Nov, I still have that...
ah, but it's only been about 2 weeks for you...keep the hope alive!

interview 2nd Nov, I still have that...
for those who interviewed between 3 and 4 weeks ago...do any of you still have "congratulations on being accepted for an interview" on your status page? i do... 😕
woohooo just got an interview invite, been complete since 10/08.
the two soonest slots are jan 4 and jan27.
but jan 4 is one day before my stony interview, so would taking that one kind of sabotage my focus on stony? i think it would.
but is jan 27 so late that its going to screw me over in the rolling process?
i s'pose i'll give it a day for sooner spots to open up...
me too!! i interviewed 5 weeks ago and have had a decision made, but they won't tell me what it is! im worried now...
its also sad that people who interviewed much later have already heard 🙁
Acceptance Phone Call Today! Interviewed on 11/2... happy to get some home town love...
How does Upstate notify you??????? I interviewed two weeks ago, it says "Decision Made," and I haven't had an e-mail, or a phone-call, or a letter... ahhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do they e-mail waitlists??? Rejections??? I know that acceptance is snail mail or phone call.... right?!!!
Got the thin letter today. I: 10/26. I don't like the snow anyways.
don't emphasize research in your interviews by the way.
Sorry to hear it, but I emphasized researched up the wazoo, so I don't think thats the main criteria.
the MD I interviewed said "This is not John's Hopkins" to me. Perhaps I should have emphasized my clinical more; i think the lack of clinical emphasis was my downfall. But then again, their ******ed blind interviews kind of lead you off on tangents.
SUNY places a significant emphasis on clinical experiences. Both my faculty and student interviewer asked what type of clinical experiences I have. Also it is stated on their website that the student most demonstrate that he/she have had some clinical exposure
had the interviewers put an effort into reading my essay they would have known i was an EMT/Firefighter for 3 years, but the interviewer i had just basically said "list your amcas" and then the interview was over. Upstate is kidding themselves with this blind interview nonsense; they only get a cursory inkling of what you are as a candidate.
Ms. Welch stated that they moved to the blind interviews because the interviewers were focus on things such as grades, mcat etc as appose to getting to know the interviewee as a person. Dont know if a decision is made on your file yet but Upstate urges interviews to contact the office if they have any complaints about the interview process
Strange question: My interviewer immediately began by asking me my stats
I have already received a "bad waitlist" email from them.
Should I call them and complain about my interviewer? Should I try to convince them to give me another interview? These are supposed to be blind interviews and Upstate was my number 1 choice.

I (as well as a fellow interviewee) got the same impression. They didn't seem to put research in a high regard. I also got the impression that one should have lots of clinical experience, though I see in your case it didn't work in your favor. I think the overall application is much more important than the interviewer's feedback.the MD I interviewed said "This is not John's Hopkins" to me. well what can you do? i got some interview practice and I learned something. all i can do is take something from this experience and move on.
I agree. Every interview experience should be a learning experience. Thats one of the reasons I decided to go all my interviews even though I have already been accepted...
congrats on the acceptance! but if you are accepted to your top choice do others a favor and withdraw from the schools you have no intention on going to. some of us are not as lucky as you.
Thanks for the kind words buddy 🙂. I havent been accepted to my top choice, as a matter of fact I havent even gotten an interview at my top choice. However besides the above stated reason why I am continuing to interview, is also the fact that I want to make a decision based on financial packages.
true! i wish you the best of luck during this hellish application.
just got an invite too...complete since OCT 13
I picked January 27- gives me 2 months to prepare
I'll be seeing you there then!
What are the chances of acceptance at this point in the cycle?
Hey were any of you that got the invite previously but on hold?

i'm sorry, a pre-interview hold at upstate is generally as good as a rejection
This. Definitely. Read the entire thread for evidence. 😳
but perhaps its different if you are put on HOLD after gettin an invite. good luck though!
B. High Priority Alternate:Students placed on the high priority alternate list may be called at anytime, up to and including the day of registration. The admissions office does not release information regarding individual placement on the alternate list. This is an active alternate list and one we pull students off of every year, but where we get on this list will vary from year to year.C. Hold Alternate:The Hold Alternate list is our 2nd Alternate list and is not an active alternate list. We have not pulled students off of this list in several years.
Also wondering if there were Dec 2nd interviewees that still have heard nothing? Status page hasnt changed for me yet either...
I know you mean 11/2 since we interviewed together. Apparently, they decide on IS b4 OOS applicants; some of the IS interviewees from 11/2 have been accepted. I also remember Ms. Welch saying that we should hear from them in 2-3 wks (if I recall correctly). I called last wk and some admissions guy told me it take 4-5 wks for a decision so I guess we'll hear something by 12/9.
The wait is killin me too....🙁🙁🙁
