Hi, I'm late in the cycle and completed my secondary on the 17th of this month. However, my credit card still hasn't been charged and the supplemental says load processing. Is it normal for them to not charge me money for so long? All the other schools charged me on the same or next business day. Thanks for any advice.

I haven't had a school take that long to charge, I kind of just assumed that it was semi-automated. I would just call them tomorrow to be on the safe-side and make sure that it was received. 🙂

AMCAS received my letters about 2 weeks ago and Upstate is pretty much the only school that still says I'm incomplete. Does anyone know about how long it takes Upstate to process LORs?

just checked SUNY upstate forum here and so sad to see that hold seems to be considered a death sentence from this school.
At least i have some better schools waiting in the wings 🙂

Yeah, sorry. I heard from admissions that they haven't pulled anyone from the hold list in the past 8 years. But it's definitely great to have other options. 👍

For those who have been hearing back, either hold (sorry 🙁) or interview invite, when were you guys complete? Upstate seems to be taking a while to get back to people. I was complete August 25th.

Their hold email makes it sound so hopeful though, "we will review you again at a later time" or something to that effect. Boo.👎

They may have been referring to a post interview hold, because we were told that there were 4 different designations that could occur after your interview and application was reviewed by the admission committee. (Accepted, High Priority Wait List, Hold, and Rejected)

So, maybe a pre-interview hold is not that long lasting.

They may have been referring to a post interview hold, because we were told that there were 4 different designations that could occur after your interview and application was reviewed by the admission committee. (Accepted, High Priority Wait List, Hold, and Rejected)

So, maybe a pre-interview hold is not that long lasting.

I also interviewed there and they only mentioned that they haven't taken anyone off of the post-interview hold in years. I can't say whether or not the pre-interview hold is the same, but perhaps there's still hope....

I'm not sure it means that. They did say that post interview hold means you're rejected, but pre-interview might just mean they'll re-evaluate you for an interview later in the cycle. You could always call them and ask.

I also got the pre-interview hold e-mail...haha, was expecting a rejection after what I got on my MCAT, oh well. Not going to get excited, as I am probably going to get rejected anyway 🙁

To all those who got holds... no worries... you're not missing out on a "great" school. Trust me... from the area, work in medicine, and know a 3rd year at the school. The environment of people is crap (granted, some really good, but the nursing staff drive you insane...) trust me...

Yes it is a separate email and the trend seems to be that your status randomly disappears and then you get the email soon.

i dont know what these means...my LOR is in AAMCAS...they havent loaded it yet..i just emailed them asking for what i am missing...

Also, do i have to sent in the signature paper if i paid with a credit card?

I hope they don't think that I can't keep track of things or that I don't care enough about the school. Automatic rejection? . Thanks sdn for keeping me in touch w/ what Upstate is up to. just got an ambiguous missing items e-mail. i checked online, and as far as I can figure the only thing missing is my MCAT score. i called weeks ago and i was told that they were in the motions of processing it. is it actually missing? processing? i have no idea what to do about this matter. most schools already received my august 14th 2009 mcat score. has anyone been through this situation before?

How do you know they'll be notifying you on Thursday?

So I interviewed somewhat early and they just told us:

Phone = acceptance
Email = hold or wait list (the latter is better, no one has been off hold in 8 years)
Snail Mail = rejection

thursday is October 15th, the first day that they are permitted to notify applicants. they said that it takes more than one day to get through acceptances though and not to call, but individuals with very early interviews will most likely hear from Upstate on thurs or fri
