congrats guys. i think the main building was pretty nice, and you will find yourself very very aerobically strong after going to those interviews up and down the hill 😛 which we called the mountain! HAHA
 
yeah! they are really nice and friendly, the interview group, at least mine, was small! so u get to meet lots of people too! it was a really wonderful experience i think. u guys will love it!

Wow if it weren't for your post i wouldve never thought to check my status page today (thanks!)...i found out i got an invite too! Im gonna get it over wiht and go on nov 23 anyone else going this day?

I definitely will! Maybe someone changed their interview date because it was the only one day in november. But good luck to you too! Is this your number one choice school?

Out of 2 interviews I got, this one is #1 choice 😀

just had my interview on monday. suny upstate surprised me becuase it was much better than i had envisioned it to be. the people there were really nice, especially my student host, the cab driver that took me from teh airport, and one of my interviewers. but i really appreciated them having a smaller group of interviewees because it became much more friendly... perhaps now im thinking that a 50 class size might > 120 and > 160. but .... i have no iidea. it was nice that u could say hi to everyone and reconginze everyone and say bye to almost everyone on the way out, ocmpared to most of my other interviewes where u hardly know half the people, or ecen said hi to them... =) good job suny upstate!

wsup buddy, I interviewed last Monday too!! I'm the guy from Miami. I really liked the school, and yes everyone I met in syracuse was so nice!! Great school, i have my toes, fingers, arms and legs all crossed...:xf::xf::xf:

Does anyone know about their student hosting? Where would I find information about that? I've been searching everywhere.
 
Your application to the College of Medicine at SUNY Upstate Medical

pre-interview HOLD. All candidates who have their applications placed on
HOLD will have their application reviewed a second time once the entire
applicant pool has been reviewed.🙁

I think there was a link on the interview scheduling page to emails for students willing to host. I sent an email to a number of the folks on the list and got replies within an hour.
 
OMG! Upstate just sent me an email saying I was invited for an interview. but i signed up for an interview already for 11/23 (which i got a confirmation email for). I checked my status page and it said you are not currently scheduled for an interview. Does that mean I have to change my interview date for something later?!?! I tried calling but they were already closed! 🙁 It's a good thing i havent made my traveling arrangements yet! this is frustrating!!! has this happened to anyone? do you think it was a mistake? (i really hope so)

Chances are whatever you scheduled is still what you're going for (you did get a confirmation)..Just call them Monday and see what's up.

Crouse Parking garage, opposite Crouse Hospital. It's very close Weiskotten and everything else
 
I interviewed 3 weeks ago and haven't heard about their decisions. (They told us that it takes approximatly 3 weeks for reach a decision). Should I call them? Today when I checked my status page, the "congrats, you have an interview!" message disappeared but I don't see any msg regarding ther admissions decision.

i was told roughly 6 weeks, so I guess it depends on a lot of factors including when the admissions committee met.

i love upstate. and i wish it was in a warmer place =(

i love my interviewer. great man. even responded to my ty email. cant believe my eyes. was even tastier than an interview invite. really really appreciated it.

wish that was the case at many other schools

My status page looked the same as it did when I got the interview invite, I never had the decision made update.

Who did you interview with?

I called them...turns out they did take me off the list for nov 23 interviews and i had to reschedule and got jan 19 interview instead...they said i scheduled too early and so it didnt get processed???...oh well.🙁

It'll say that whatever the outcome is, so just wait for the letter to come.

(Didn't get a phone call even though they said to expect one)

go to the upstate page and login, it shouldn't say congratulations about the interview anymore. click on the application and it will say Status: Decision Made
 
don't worry, they consider in-staters and out-of-staters separately tend to process in-staters faster...
 
for those who interviewed between 3 and 4 weeks ago...do any of you still have "congratulations on being accepted for an interview" on your status page? i do... 😕
