Status is still "Congrats on the interview." I called at 4:55ET and I got the recording that they were off business hours. I called yesterday too and they confirmed that they were holding the meeting that day.. didn't say what time, or anything about releasing the news. I don't know which would come first, the online status change or the phone call... Or maybe they didn't complete all the candidates yesterday and they'll need to hold another meeting. If anyone hears anything, it'd be great to know.

I believe they change your status and then they call you. That's the way I've read experiences in this thread.
 
I just called and they said that the committee met on Wednesday and we should hear our decisions by next Wednesday. Apparently the results aren't all in yet? Hopefully we'll hear good news! :xf:

Wow... it wasn't stressful enough hearing that this past Wednesday was their last meeting. Now we need to stress out through one more week... Good luck everyone. Let us know if anything else is heard.

HPA here...check your emails, guys! Hopefully you don't have anything in there, but if you do, hopefully it's HPA. :luck:

Hey TJ, I'm sorry to hear about the HPA, but hang in there! That's a good WL 🙂. I still haven't heard anything yet, and I was wondering if your status page changed. Mine still has the congrats re: interview stuff... Getting real ancy here!
 
My page did change, but it doesn't say "decision made." It just doesn't say "congratulations..." So your page will look different.

Perhaps you're one of the few that haven't gone to committee yet? Or maybe they do have a decision but haven't been able to change your status. GOOD LUCK all the same!

My page changed also, and I have to click on Fall 2010 to see "Decision Made." I'm on the HPA list also... I guess it's the best I could have really hoped for since I interviewed on March 10th! Hopefully we'll get accepted soon. :luck:
 
Hey guys,

Congrats to everyone who has gotten in so far. Upstate is a great school, and I'm sure you will enjoy your time here. Anyway, I'm subletting my place for the summer and wanted to see if anyone from the incoming class was interested. It's in Madison Towers, which is really convenient and a great place to live. The apartment is a 1 BR w/ balcony on the 12th floor. It is fully furnished, including bed, couch, tv, new treadmill, etc. It will be available from around 6/1 until the weekend of 8/21 (1st week of school). Please just PM me if you want more info, pictures, whatever. Thanks, and I'll see you next fall!
 
Got an email this morning about a background check:

"You have received this email because you have been waitlisted or conditionally accepted by one or more of the medical schools participating in the..."

Hoping this is good news, but the bannerweb page is down. I called admissions and they said the computers are down right now.

That sounds like GREAT news, especially if you aren't waiting on any other schools. I've been waitlisted, and I haven't gotten that email. Awesome. 👍
 
Thanks. And I am not. This is the only school I have been waiting on, so there is nearly no chance it's from anywhere else. I'm just nervous that they are for some reason doing this even though I'm on the HPA. My status changed officially, saying a decision has been made. Very heavy stress mode right now, and I feel like the admissions office forgets how important this news is to those waiting, and are taking their time. If anyone hears anything please share. I'll stay posted.

So I called Upstate today and the man on the phone said that decision letters have not been sent because the letters have not been signed yet by Ms. Welch--whose on vacation. Has anyone else received a CBC email whose waiting on Upstate?

Wait...

Why don't you just call and ask? Usually Upstate either emails you or calls you if you've been accepted. And they email when you've been waitlisted. So what's the hold up? It's not like they have to wait for the acceptance letters to be mailed so they can inform you.

I thought it was usually Ms. Welch or Dean Scheinman who call inform accepted students...

Upstate either snail mails or calls you if you've been accepted. This waiting game is giving me a headache... I don't understand why applicants who are WLed find out way before applicants who are either rejected or accepted.

I'm wondering where the CBC email came from... Did you get accepted elsewhere?

ACCEPTED!! Cannot believe it.. but yes, it sounded like the CBC email was directly because of acceptance... I just happened to get it before the call. I actually had to call on Friday to find out... apparently someone was supposed to call, but I just hadn't gotten it yet (my phone dies daily, so who knows what happened). They told me the acceptance package is being mailed out today.

I really appreciate the support around here, and I wish everyone the absolute best. Those of you accepted and planning to attend I will see you in the fall, and those not accepted yet I completely understand the extreme stress you're under and I hope you stay strong. I made sure to push very hard in these latest months, and I feel that it made the difference. If anyone is so inclined, please feel welcome to send me a message if you want more support. Good luck everyone!

Fourteen pre-interview. It was a brutal process for me. I interviewed at University of North Carolina but got rejected in January.. the rest I was never given a shot. I was beginning to make plans for another year of applying, but decided to keep pushing at SUNY, with whom I was on a pre-interview "hold," back around February. After a few letters to keep them updated and remind them I exist I got an interview and it changed everything. At that point I had essentially given up hope for this year... and somehow things worked out.... Just trying to encourage those who are in need of some hope. Good luck!

At least you didn't waste time and money going on 12 interviews.
 
i know may 15th is still 2 weeks away...but any movement from the HPA list yet?!?!

I put Binghamton as my preferred clinical campus, but I'm not sure if this showed before... I am on the HPA list last I heard. To those of you who are on the HPA list with me-- did it update to show your preferred campus? I'm wondering if this might be an acceptance I wasn't informed of yet... :xf:

Edit: I think before it showed Syracuse as the campus (but that is probably a default). Maybe it does just change when they enter your campus preference. Hmmmm. It's so unhealthy to speculate on this stuff, lol.

Mine said Syracuse for the campus before (at least when I was notified of the HPA list decision), and now it says Binghamton. Buuuut it's probably not really anything... lol
 
Mine says Binghamton. They probably updated it so that they don't have to keep rustling through paper.

(This is what happens when you check the status pages of schools you're waitlisted at and actually want to get into... Lollll. So baddddd.)
