I just started...sadly. I'm hoping I don't have to go through with this....2nd

Long time no acceptance. WHAT IS GOING ON!?! I really don't appreciate being kept in the dark. 😡 I thought a few seats opened up last last week? June 15th was my initial cut-off for losing hope, but its coming rather fast 👎

I withdrew this morning.

Keep your heads up everyone and best of luck.

Just withdrew from temple this morning, going to Georgetown instead. Good Luck.

Thanks for letting us know guys. Seems lot a lot of people are withdrawing both with regular acceptances and wait list acceptances. I'm hoping that translates to more spots available for the rest of us :meanie:

He got in off WL 2 wks ago on pg 31

Hey, thanks Omzy. Seems like Temple has some open seats. And they told me over the phone today that they've been getting frequent withdrawals lately. The question is, when are they going to start the next wave of acceptances?!!! I'm burning out REstudying for freaking MCATs 😎

Oh man I know, this sucks major 👎

If so many are withdrawing and they are taking this many days to accept more, I bet this will go on well past the 15th.

I got a call from a 269 number this morning and apparently I've been selected to 'win' a flat-screen TV...😡

hey guys 🙂 just wanted to let you know the waitlist is moving! i got a call yesterday (friday) from ms. demmler! keep the faith and i'll keep all of you in my prayers =] i'm rootin for ya!! 😀

Hey guys,
This is really a TOUGH wait for Temple. Did anyone get accepted yesterday? Although its great to stay positive in regards to the WL, planning ahead is also very much required.
I want to submit my AMCAS for 10-11 asap so it can be verified. If I go through with the 10-11 application cycle, I also have to retake my MCATS which I plan to do the first week of August.
Dilemma: I don't mind spending $160 and applying to 1 school on AMCAS for now. But in order to submit AMCAS, I ALSO need to finalize and list my upcoming MCAT test date (something I haven't even registered for yet). Its another $230 that I don't unecessarily want to spend if not needed (if accepted off the WL this cycle).
What are you guys doing?!?!?!! Felt like it'd be cool to exchange alternative ideas/plans for the future since we're all in the same boat 🙂

Hey Nd, I've got to do all that stuff too and I plan on applying ED to my state school so I've got to submit amcas by july 1 and take the mcat july 16. Money-wise, I'm definitely not Uncle Pennybags so its going to hurt, but even if I spent ~$500 preparing for another cycle and then got into Temple, I wouldn't regret it in the least.

I filled out everything but I haven't sent it in yet. I think timing was a big problem with my last application and so am debating over whether to send everything in now or just one to get verified. Any idea when Primaries and Secondaries should be in for me to be considered competitive? (I think last time this was my big problem-I didn't have my primaries in until august 15th).

I submitted my AMCAS app two days ago. I'm waitlisted at temple and another school but would rather pay the money, get accepted this cycle and be out $500 opposed to being late applying to the next cycle. I also submitted my primaries and secondaries late last year, so I didn't want to be behind this year.

If you read this board and have been accepted recently, please let us know like kayleigh did 🙂

Hi all,

I am interested in temple and I wanted some input on how you guys like it. What makes Temple better than other medical schools? What do they take pride in? What is their mission? I heard they do a lot of working with the underserved and you have the option to do rural rotations (which both interest me).

Thanks for any advice or info!

You basically hit two of the major points, that they work with the underserved (urban) and there is an option to do rural rotations. To some people these don't matter, and to others they are highly important. They separate Temple from the rest in that few, if any schools offer both at the same time (urban + rural, that is).

On top of those, the students and faculty are really relaxed and that is a big plus, I think. They are the type of people that don't mind loosening their collars during a meeting, unlike most of the places I've interviewed.

And of course, they've got new facilities, which are excellent.

However, keep in mind that the area that the school is located in is potentially dangerous if you're the exploring type, and rightly so, since the mission is to serve the underserved.

EDIT: Sorry, I didn't realize that you might want the opinion of someone that attends Temple. In that case, my assertions don't have much weight.

I made a phone call the other day asking if they were full or if there would be more invites and, as usual, the receptionist assured me that releasing any information would be a threat to national security. She did say that there exists the potential to be invited until the first week of August, so there is a month left, I suppose. It is confusing because there have been so many people posting on the forums that they planned to withdraw after being accepted, but no one has posted a recent acceptance. There are really two scenarios in my mind:

1) They are planning to invite another wave of people, the first in about a month OR

2) They have been inviting people the entire time, but those lucky ones are not forum users.

I'm thinking scenario 2 is the most plausible, but what do I really know at this point... 😕

i literally jump everytime i hear the phone ring...."maybe its temple :O"

so far nothing lol. hope its scenario 1

Hey guys,

So my pre-med advisor recently met with the director of admissions at Temple and she told him that the Temple waitlist is moving very slowly this year. She said that students that have shown great interest in the school may still have a chance, they just have to wait...not the most comforting message, but I thought I'd let you all know what I heard from the inside.

Do you mean they are intentionally moving it slowly or that so many students have accepted the invites that its not moving? Thanks for letting us know by the way.

Do they call your home phone or cell?

Hey guys! I just received an email from Maria Demmler offering me a spot for admissions this year! I'm taking the spot. I'm so relieved. Good luck to those of you who are still waiting.

C'mon Temple, me next! What do I have to do to get your attention, mail my ear in? Because that's where I draw the line. 😎

I was accepted today. Got a call from Maria. Looks like there is still movement.

Got accepted at my top choice. I'm going to withdrawal from the hold list tomorrow. Good luck guys!!!

i'm going to Penn State. I was an undergrad at their honors college and got involved in a lot of activities through Hershey, which I can now continue to pursue.

I also wanted you guys to know that I call a call THIS MORNING (7/27) from Mrs. Demmler offering me a spot. I subsequently withdrew but the list is STILL MOVING! So don't give up hope, yet!

does anybody know when the last day to hear about the waitlist would be?
