Did you apply pretty late? If so it means they haven't reviewed your application yet.

I got verified around 9/9/09... but my mcat scores may have came in a week later than when I was verified. Anyhow I sent in my secondaries around the deadline time (maybe a day or two earlier) 10/1. I called maybe early Nov. and the lady said they haven't processed it yet.

I want to inquire again but would that be annoying them too much? should I send an email instead?

Epinephrinerush: I got an interview at UTH and UTSW. I HAVE NO IDEA Why 😱 and am very very very shocked you don't have an interview yet... You have really good stats! 33MCAT is awesome!

Can someone please explain this whole pre-match thing to me? I'm seriously confused. How many does each school send? And do they only pre-match those with really awesome stats?

It sure seems like they send prematch to those with only awesome stats. I was at the UTH thread and those that got accepted usually had a 34 and a 3.8 and higher stats... I was pretty sad I didn't get prematched but oh well there's always match!

They aren't going to remember that you've called before or care if you call again. It doesn't matter when you submitted TMDSAS if you're secondary wasn't in until right at the deadline, you're going to be one of the last ones processed. If I were you I would call Monday and ask or email Linda Prado and check on it.

We also noticed that last year - those who had higher stats were tending to get pre-matches and those who got in with lower stats were matching. It makes sense and it is not yet the time to get worried. A LOT of people who don't pre-match will still get in.

During pre-match schools will accept a varying amount of people. Some schools accept a majority of their students through pre-match offers and some schools (like Tech) accept a lot through the match.

However, it also depends on the responses. So, Houston and Tech could theoretically send out the same number of pre-matches, but everyone pre-matched to Houston might accept and attend their school while 50% pre-matched to Tech accept a different pre-match offer. This would allow Tech to accept more through match (subsequently sending out more offers overall for the same amount of seats).

Some people with low stats pre-match. It does seem that those with high stats are more likely to, though. It's also more likely that someone with high stats will get in to medical school in general, though.

UT-Houston is a bad example, for they do not give out many pre-match offers.

It was just an example to get the point across - I don't go there nor did I interview there, so sorry for the incorrect information. I was more just trying to explain the process to her, thanks for the info, though.

Congrats to those who pre matched @ tech! Good luck to those who will be waiting impatiently. Tech is great. Aggie & Maggie, thanks for finding the time to be on here. You really should be studying biochem or doing something fun, but then here I am too!

Thank you! I am pretty much sold. Hopefully I will see some of you this summer!

Whats going on this summer?

I dont know, my MCAT is on the low side and I reapplied without retaking the MCAT. So, its probably true in general, but exceptions exist I guess.

do u mind sharing ure stats?

I pre-matched (unexpectedly, but happy 🙂) on Friday without great stats. I had a 3.55 sGPA / 3.67 cGPA / 27R MCAT. So I guess I am the exception here. I was verified/completed the second week of June, and interviewed the first week of September.

Good luck everyone!

Does anybody who prematched on Friday have a last name late in the alphabet? Honestly, I'm pretty shocked I haven't gotten any prematch offers. I'm hoping the offers are going out as part of an alphabetical list.

My last name starts with an A so there might be something to your theory.

I hope so...I have a friend who prematched every last place I interviewed, and his last name starts with 'C'. I'm after 'U' so hopefully my theory is correct or it's going to be an extremely stressful few months! Thanks for responding!

Last name starts with L. Hope you hear back soon.

I don't know why, but I feel like that is probably not how the pre-matches are offered...

But I hope your theory is right! I didn't get a single one... Last name starts with R (it will be the very last R bc the second letter is a Y)... Last name starting with L is a little close for comfort for me haha!

Anyone know how many or how often the smaller batches of acceptances are given throughout the pre-match period at Tech?

Mine starts with the letter U

I really don't think that is how pre-match offers are done at all. A LOT of people do not pre-match. Wait until the match before you let horrible disappointment set in.

At UTH's interview this year, Judianne Kellaway said that they accept very few people through pre-match.

Thanks for pointing that out. Again, I apologize for the inaccurate information in my example. I went back and edited the original post as not to confuse anyone else.

I was also accepted today!! Apparently with some sort of scholarship that I'll find out more about later? Went to the online Merlin site and couldn't find anything. Anybody know anything?

You will find out more about this in the packet they mail you (I believe). It will be a small tuition scholarship (most got $1000 - $2000, I think).

Unlikely, many people, including myself, who were accepted on Friday had a scholarship offer as well. May be some people declined the offer?

I got a Monday email as well with the blurb about a scholarship. Do you think that many people declined the offer over the weekend? Seems like an insanely fast turn around. My guess is that they just decided to do two waves.

I'm strongly considering this school as my #1 choice. I loved Lubbock but it'll be hard to leave Houston!

Cool...congrats. I doubt that offers were declined that quickly and a new batch was processed, but who knows?

Ok so I never got an interview invite to Tech...but for some reason my TMDSAS match list has Tech listed as a school i interviewed at!!!
Does that mean i missed an interview OR is TMDSAS really that messed up
?

could very well be either. you need to call TMDSAS in the morning ASAP!!! (and thoroughly check your spam/junk mail folders, too)

Where do you find the TMDSAS match list Annabananas or anyone? Please and thank you.

To be a tad more specific on my part, will the list of schools on my TMDSAS page change status from "Sent Information" to "Interviewed" or whatever when I go for interviews or receive offers?

No, you'll have a different tab for accept/decline prematch offers, and another containing the rank list for the schools you interviewed at.

Thank yall for the TMDSAS navigation directions. Its appreciated

Hello All,
I am OOS interivew on Dec 4 and was wondering if anyone was interested in grabbing drinks or something on the 3rd. I refuse to pay $350 for airfare and first time in Lubbock to sit in hotel and not go out....

You should stay with a student host!! Much cheaper than a hotel and you'll learn more and have someone to get that drink with!

LOL I'm laughing, so I hope this is a joke.

If not: Even before alcohol was sold in stores there was most definitely bars and restaurants with it....plus the strip (liquor stores) was like 5 minutes away.

actually just recently, lubbock approved the sale of alcohol!

True. My husband grocery shopped for us that week and when I got home the fridge was FULL of beer. We drink, but more often when we are out than when we are at home....so I asked him "why is all this beer in here?" His response: "THEY HAD IT AT THE GROCERY STORE!" Mind you we had been here about 2 months and the place we moved from had always sold beer in the grocery store. Boys. 😛

o, and we have yet to finish it all. 🙄

I will be in Lubbock this weekend for the football game... I may not have gotten pre-matched at Tech but I really hope I get matched here. I loved it. Just sayin 🙂

I've got my interview Friday. Staying over for the OU game saturday too. Any advice for interview day? This is my 2nd interview so I'm not really that nervous, just wondering if anything particular about Tech I should know.

More than likely you will have a PhD and a clinician MD/DO. Your interviews will almost definitely be laid back, not stressful. They just want to get to know you!!

:luck: Good Luck!

any one out there who took their interview for TTU med school on Nov 13th. Any idea when can i hear the news of my selection.?

Hey rv1, I also had my interview on 11/13 and I have not heard anything yet! I'm still waiting on an email, hopefully we will hear something soon....
