I'm a T1, and I will tell you what I've heard about this -- bear in mind that it's a rumor that did not come from anyone involved in admissions, and it may not be true. But I have HEARD that Tulane is implementing an MCAT cutoff of 30 starting this year. The reason for this is that Tulane is, relatively speaking, not a "numbers" school and has enrolled a number of students with MCAT <30 in previous years. The class average step I score took a dip, so the admissions administration is taking steps to fix this and is operating under the assumption that MCAT performance roughly correlates with step I performance (I don't know how true this relationship is). Again, PLEASE do not take this as gospel!!!!
Yea I've heard the same. I think I WILL take it as gospel if nobody admits to being offered an interview with a <30 MCAT though!
