So you mean to tell us that this is your friend, both of you applied, you are waiting to hear and you don't even know when she interviewed? You weren't the least curious?You are one relaxed applicant. It may be the green tea! I envy you!
 
Whoa, I think we need to calm down up in here. We're all in the same boat, and being that this forum is anonymous and all that (and even if it weren't), personal attacks are not necessary. Congratulations to your friend, greentea. Let's hope that the class is not 100% full and that if it is, a spot opens for us.

Wow, excuse me for sharing information I thought someone on this forum might be interested in. No need to get all hostile. I think it's awesome my friend got in, and I sure hope she has an amazing group of classmates at Drew with her.
 
Hey friends, (in my opinion) we should be really be taking everything that is said on this thread and by Sandy with a grain of salt. I know this process has been maddening, but maybe we should recognize that whatever Drew's staff has told us isn't really accurate. I think these are just stock responses that they have been told to give all the applicants. We have all received the "admission's committee has yet to make a decision on your file" and/or "the a.c. will meet next week"...how many times have we seen people post this as their response from Drew.
I am hoping we all get a response soon (good or bad) just to put an end to all this guessing and stressing, but til then let's please try and be kind to one another🙂
 
Has anyone heard anything new here? Or have ppl just about given up?
 
I didn't get to talk to Sandy recently, but I can't say that my chance of getting in looks high at this point... I'm pretty sure that they have met and made several decisions since May 15th by this time, and I haven't received any calls... I'm kinda preparing myself for the bad news now..

I'm feeling pretty bad about my chances too...Although I've heard of people getting in by late June. So, maybe there is still hope. I just wish they would let us know already. I'd call them but they're probably sick of hearing my voice!!!🙁🙁🙁

I called Ms. Rodriguez about a week ago and she wasn't able to divulge any news. I wouldn't say I've given up, because there's always hope, but I imagine the numbers are very, very much against those of us who haven't been accepted and so it's best to be prepared for the likely eventuality of not being accepted 🙁.
 
Trying to bump this thread. Congratulations to the accepted students! Could any of you tell us if they are going to attend? It would help the rest of us cope!

I heard that the school started to send the rejection letters. So if you haven't received one yet, you are still in the game.. in my opinion...

reliable source? Cause it seems if they did someone would post about it since there is a good amount of ppl on here who are waiting for news.
 
Well I heard from Sandy.. I called her this Monday.. but you are right, I would expect people to post about it.. Maybe they are 'going' to send the letters by end of this week...

After reading previous threads, it appears the trend continues. No news is good news!! And mail equals the letter of death..I emailed a current Drew student back in March about the process and this is what she had to say:

" ....I was admitted in May but I know that other students weren't admitted until June or July! Btw I interviewed in November...

CDU is really tough to gauge, they interview about 200 applicants for 24 spots, and all the applicants are really amazing so sometimes it takes a really long time to figure out who would best fit into the program. With CDU, it really doesn't matter when you hear back from them unless you hear back that your weren't accepted. Hearing nothing or hearing that you are on the waitlist is totally okay."
 
Has anyone called lately to see if there is vacancies in the class? Last I heard there were two.
 
I spoke to Sandy a little over a week ago and she told me two spots were open as well. Has anybody gotten anything in the mail? I am not sure if I should be happy that I haven't gotten anything in the mail, or if a thin sad envelope will come in the next day or so. The waitiling is killing me as I'm sure you all understand.

Yes I understand reader...when did you interview? UCLA sent out acceptances from their waitlist late last week so I'm hoping they didn't accept the last two for Drew since none of us have heard anything. I hope someone from this forum gets in. Good luck everyone. :luck:
 
I interviewed in January. I have been sending updates and calling the office, and they can never tell me anything. It is so frustrating!

Earlier in this thread ppl mentioned getting an online status update saying a letter was sent, which turned out to be a thank you, but no thank you letter. I keep checking my status, and emailing Sandy, but no change over here.
 
Good to know GreenTea... I keep checking my status and it still says "Interviewed: Please allow 4 weeks for a repsonse" More like 20 weeks.

you should probably call her, IDK how often she responds to email.

WOW! no I just checked and still have A final admissions decision on your application is pending.

Ok, called CDU, the woman (I think Sandy) I spoke to said that letters would be sent out today, and I asked if having this status meant a rejection letter would be sent, which she wouldn't answer and said to "read the letter once it arrives." Soooo looks like a rejection, gluck to everyone else!🙂
 
Sorry. They probably are updating the system now and haven't gotten to everyone yet. Guess I can't rest assured until the end of the day.
 
Oh geez... I'm sorry GreenTea. You never know, it could be a letter offering you a full ride! Think positive. I don't know what to think now that nothing has changed...
 
Yea still says interview complete for me. I'm really hoping that I don't get a letter sent... since they only accept by phone that seems to be the end of the line.
 
Mine still has "interview(s) completed." Guess I'm still in the game...

Also as far as spots are concerned and knowing whats going on the office, I feel its such a toss up because its such a complicated process. Idk, its going through two medical schools pretty much, it seems that CDU is always busy lol (it was even busy on my interview day), and I'm positive that everything will work out for the best.

Yep, I was accepted a week ago and I wanted to put it on SDN but honestly I just didn't want me getting accepted bring a damper on anyone else's hope. I mean the standard questions are when did you interview(Jan), what was your GPA, what was your MCAT, but seriously with any medical school (esp. Drew) there is so much more involved with your application that it doesn't make sense to solely toss out numbers. If it was just numbers then it would be extremely difficult if not impossible and crazy to pick 24 students. I'm not mad at all I just want to make sure every keeps there hopes up. One of my buddies at CDU/UCLA said people get in up to the last date, like a day before orientation.
 
No, you should of posted it so ppl could know what to do with the information they were getting from the office. If there were 2 spots open you probably got one and they are just waiting for confirmation of the 2 spots being taken.
 
Have you officially accepted your spot? When is orientation?

Judging by your signature you are going to Drew!!! ooooooowwwwwwwwwww!!!!! Best of luck to you, and to everyone else just waiting to get into a medical school. I know this is a tough time for all of us, but it doesn't mean we can't step outside ourselves for a minute and give congrats where congrats are due. 🙂

Yes, I think that's awesome news! Knowing that someone was recently accepted reassures us (or me at least) that something is happening in admissions and decisions are being made (slowly as they are). Regardless of the outcome for this cycle, anyone who is interested in serving the underserved is awesome in my book.

So congrats again!
 
I met Saint at the interview. Let me just say that I think they made a great choice. Nice fella! Congrats to you man!
 
Congrats Saint!!! I was in the same interview with you as well, and you will thrive at Drew! I really hope that all of us other amazing people get that call sometime soon. I have been accepted into a great school, but I can't seem to be happy with it until I hear back from Drew... I am sure some of you know the feeling. Good luck to eveybody! I know we will all make amazing doctors and we may cross paths someday in some free clinic in Africa!😛

Let me first say congratulations to Saintmed!! That is such wonderful news. Second, did your status page change prior to receiving a call? Just curious because my status says: Interview Completed and I'm just not sure whether that's a good or bad thing.
 
Thanks alot for support peeps. I'm genuinely happy that no matter what happens, the majority of people that applied to the Drew program will no matter go on and make significant impact in their communities. As far as status page, its weird. When I got the phone call I checked and it was the same "see in four weeks jazz" but now it changed to a final admission decision is pending (that change happened today I think??) but even when I was accepted it said the same four week deal. I don't know about the status page or how to read into it.
 
Ah! Sandy called me this morning! Just letting you guys know to keep your hopes up. I know the waiting is agonizing.
