yup...the time is finally here...almost lol. Does anyone know how they select. Do they just select a few apps from the whole bunch or do they look at them all?

I am wondering this too...I interviewed in Vegas so I didn't have the typical interview day. Do they notify everyone about their status whether it be acceptance/waitlist/rejection? Or do they just notify the acceptances and keep the rest of us hanging?

So from what I have heard the adcom can't look at all of the applicants in one shot so they rank us numerically based on gpa, mcat, lor's, interview, etc. and then split the pool up based on rankings to jan/feb/mar/and possibly april. we'll get the rejection/acceptance letter immediately (acceptance is sent certified mail, rejection is sent regular mail) but won't be notified if we're on the waitlist until the last round of acceptances go out. Good luck to all!

Oh my God, I am so excited! Letters are going out in the mail this Friday, but we probably won't receive them until Monday or Tuesday. Yes, definitely post if you get accepted everyone!

Monday's a holiday... so it looks like Tuesday is the day.

Unless anyone gets news today, but it seems unlikely!

Got the news today, and........ACCEPTED!!

So excited! Can't wait for summer now. Good luck to everybody else. I live pretty close (within 100 miles) so those that are farther away might have to wait until Tuesday. Sorry you have to wait 🙁

Congrats, doctordaman--that must feel so good!!! Do you mind posting your stats? I'm in Reno so will probably be waiting at least another month to hear.

Wait im confused why the distance has something to do with you hearing early?...other than being a resident or receiving mail early?...was it an email or snail mail?

CONGRATS btw!

It came in the mail, hence why I feel distance may make a small difference sleight. sono***un97, I'm a NV resident, 3.9x, 28R, with the typical extra curriculars, nothing special. Hope you guys get in too, then maybe we'll be classmates 😎

Thx for posting your stats, I definitely hope we will be classmates! BTW-it took me a second to figure out why you starred out my avatar... please everyone read it as son of a gun. No other intention there!!! 😎

haha I was confused about why your avatar was starred out too! but SDN automatically stars it out anytime there is a "bad word"

Man I wanna get in here bad.

I wonder when us AK residents will hear? I'm almost positive they interview all the AK residents before accepting anyone since there's just 1-2 spots...but a lady in admissions told me that it's not a hard rule that they just accept 1. Some years it could be 0 some might be 3-4 I guess...not going to think about it, just going to cross my fingers!

If that's true, we won't hear this month, because they aren't done interviewing yet... when I scheduled one of the possible dates was January 25th.

Yeah everyone I know who applied last year from AK didn't hear back til early March I think. The waiting list moves a lot too...think about it. The first accepted AK residents to UNR likely also get accepted to WWAMI, and decline UNR for WWAMI. Hence in the past few years the WL has moved quite a bit...

Accepted!!!! Got the news today....hopefully will be seeing you all in the fall! Good luck to y'all! 😀

I'm in too! I'm so excited it's not even funny. See you all in August! Congrats to everyone else, and good luck to those still waiting.

Have those that have been accepted been NV residents? Any WICHE acceptances yet?

I'm CA and got an email from Cathy Four last week asking me to resend my unofficial transcripts for the commitee meeting last Friday. Hopefully, most or all OOS were looked at during that meeting.

I got the same email from Cathy Jan. 6th. Hopefully they'll show some WICHE love this time around...🙂

I know they are sending letters out this Friday. Hopefully acceptances 😉.

I got the email in January too. I guess she lost mine so I had to resend them last week. "I need them for a meeting on Friday" -Cathy.

Good luck everyone!!!

I was led to believe they would be mailed out on Friday.

ya Reno

Can anyone who got rejected verify whether rejection letters are also sent via certified mail? Or do they just arrive in your mailbox... I think the latter.. just want to check 🙂

I just received a certified letter saying I am on the alternate list for acceptances. I am a WICHE state (OOS)...Anyone know the chances for getting in on the alternate list???

Waitlists come via certified mail. And let me tell you...I did not know this so I thought I was getting an acceptance lol. I told the mailman OMG YOU JUST MADE MY DAY!

Opened it. Puked. lol

lol UAA! Certified mail thing is a bit of a pain. I wasn't home when the mail came, so I have to wait to pick up the letter tomorrow. Glad I already have acceptances, otherwise this would be the longest night of my life.

Rejected today (WICHE applicant), which is okay because I've been accepted to a few other schools.

Good luck to everyone and keep the faith!

Just got home to my certified letter slip... we'll see what's waiting for me at the post office in the morning...

UAA are you OOS (if so where)? Do you know how big their waitlist is usually?

I'm pretty sure the only OOS residents they even consider are 3 or 4 states that don't have med schools.. Alaska is one, Idaho is another i think.

And I also think I read that they only accept a few of these OOS each year... you can probably count the number accepted on one hand.

They accept 5-6. The waitlist moves like hell. All the states they consider have WWAMI...which all take at least 20 students from those states. Therefore A LOT of the time Nevada accepts students who also end up getting wwami, and those students choose wwami over nevada since it's cheaper
