I interviewed with them Feb 2; if you interviewed later, don't worry. They are lagging behind because they missed a few committee meetings due to the bad weather. Their next meetings are March 31 and April 17. I would suggest calling the Admissions Office to check if your file has been presented yet- don't bother checking the online application status page. They don't really update that real time. Hope that helps and good luck! 🙂
 
Hey Chromosome...welcome to the standby list. At least we should know our ranking by the end of April. That way, if we are on top or middle third, we can have high hopes. Till then, NCAA March Madness is keeping me occupied. Good luck!🙄

Dang I'm having such a hard time staying motivated towards classes these days thanks to an awful case of senioritis. Anybody else having the same problem?

Yes, especially with the weather I dont feel like doing anything school related. But since grades don't matter anymore I'm putting in minimal effort for my last quarter and having fun.
 
Has anyone that interviewed Feb 8th or later received a decision or any news yet?
 
I was there the 10th and called last week to check. I guess, I was to be presented last week and should be hearing news this week. So I would assume you will be too... good luck to us!
 
Hi everyone. I'm brand new to SDN, but like most of you, completely fell in love with Wright State on my interview! I would love to go here. I'm waitlisted right now but hoping to hear I'm in the top 1/3 of the waitlist when they rank it. I'd be interested in hearing if any of you have tried anything specific (update letters, etc) to improve your standing here. Thanks!
 
I called and apparently a decision has been sent to me in the mail, which I am waiting for. Likely either rejection or wait-list considering email/phone call are more common for an acceptance. Either way, just wanted to let ya'll know who may still be waiting for some sign of communication.
 
Dmangler, did your status page change showing that a letter had been sent out?
 
Acceptances are not via email or phone. All decisions post interview are sent thru snail mail. So don't lose hope! Good luck!!
 
@misterh24: No, nothing has changed on my status page since they offered me an interview. There hasn't even been confirmation that I went to the interview. I called to find out my status post-interview.

@Pedie Packs: Nice! Hopefully it's good news...
 
Does anyone know if you get a call once accepted off the waitlist or should one wait for snail mail for a decision? My best guess is that we will know our ranking by the end of April and get a phone call (if accepted) by the dean sometime between May and the first day of classes....am I right? 🙄

So has anyone called to see if they have sent out waitlist rankings yet??? I am pretty sure they have the list set but didn't know if anyone has gotten their letter yet... I know a few years ago they started getting letters around April 10th.
 
I just finally got a letter today telling me im on the waitlist. Interviewed in february. They might be just a bit behind. Hopin for the best though.

Hey for those of you accepted - has anyone gotten notice of their financial aid award yet?

Nope. Did you receive a letter indicating that you were on a standby list and would hear more information in May?
 
I hadn't received anything in the mail for 8 weeks after my interview so I called to see what my status was. The dean told me that I was on the standby list, and the alternate list will be made in June. Acceptances will also be sent out in May when they get a better idea of class size.
 
sure did - but from looking at previous years' forums most waitlisted students received their rank in mid-april.

That is right. The lady in the admissions office I talked to led me to believe that we should get a letter in the next week or so with a rank on that alternate list or a rejection from the standby list.

Yeah Definately. I'm hoping everyone on here gets into at least 1 school so they can live out their dreams. I think applying is just as hard as med school itself if you have to wait for a while to find out anything. Even after getting the first nod my stress level is still high as I try to find out where I and my family will live for the next 4 years. How can we even plan when this could drag out all summer? Here's to hoping that things move fast after May 15th.

Pedie - I didn't check out Toledo at all, but I know that everyone at Wright was awesome - the students, the teachers, the admissions office staff. I vote for Wright!
 
Hey guys- just called the Admissions Office today to get an update regarding when the letters informing the waitlisted students of their ranks will be mailed; the letters went out yesterday. Since I couldn't bear to wait a few more days (for obvious reasons) being an OOS student, the lady was kind enough to tell me I made it to the top third! From what I've heard so far, almost all students get accepted from the top third and most from the middle third. Please correct me if I'm wrong; I would hate to set myself (or anyone else) up for disappointment. Hope this week brings lots of good news to everyone! I'm shaking in anticipation that I might receive an acceptance after all 😀

one of my friends got a letter today saying he got rejected from the waitlist after being on it since october. i have yet to get anything from wright state but hopefully its not bad news like that. i didnt even know schools rejected people from waitlists

What kind of envelope did your rejection come in? small or large?

just got put on the bottom third or as wright state liked to say in big bold letters, "BOTOM THIRD." at least if youre going to ruin my hopes spell it right lol 👎

i've been following this thread for a few months and figured i'd register and chime in. I just got my "BOTOM THIRD" of the waitlist letter. 32 MCAT, 3.85 GPA from WSU, letters of rec from WSU/SOM professors... good luck.

Hey Class2014- I haven't received my letter yet. I'm sure it's somewhere in snail mail (and likely a small envelope). Just called the Admissions Office. Did you hear anything yet?

Just got financial aid info...wow those numbers are scary/large. haha.
As far as not accepting ALL of the loan money offered, how conservative are you guys going to be? Is it standard to accept like 1000 more than you think you will need just in case?
Sorry if this is a stupid question, I'm terrible as far as understanding money/debt/our economy and didn't have to borrow for undergrad...
