I am starting to feel like the perennial reject. guess its back to drawing board...

from the looks of it..there has not been anybody that interviewed post dec. 1st that have been extended offers of acceptance?? there must be another date..hopefully not too far away..the wait is emotionally draining

Looks like the Houston 1/20 round was small too; more have to be on the way. We'll see how many SA folks get letters this week.

What are you basing this upon? Predents.com? I hope you are correct! I have a late Jan interview with Houston only and I hope I will be included with the group of acceptances come Feb 21st!!!

I wish there was a way to figure out how mant seats have been filled...but at the same point, knowing the number can be nerve racking as well :scared:

It really doesn't matter how many seats have been filled because there will still be fluctuation between the 3 schools, whether it is big, or small, people will be changing their minds if they get accepted elsewhere. Just rock your interview. All you can do is your best. You can't worry about how many letters are sent out and who is holding spots where, etc.

true, true...I guess it is the analytical side of me coming out . My wife says the same thing that I am just torturing myself. It just this whole process is so stressful and tiresome!

In my SA interview(jan12) they told us Feb 1 is the date we will know our situation.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! I have a good feeling this we'll be our year! :xf:

count me in guys..funny story..i called my dad to ask him about the cable bill and he didn't pick up..called my mom..she picks up and i ask "is dad with you"..next thing i know..she starts yelling and screaming for joy..(she thought i got an acceptance letter)..figures..sometimes you just hear what you want to regardless of what has been said. now i feel even crappier!! :scared: i told her that it was the last time i would be calling her...

wow, what a let down that must have been. keep hangin on with the rest of us

Thanks for your kind words. I hope you will be in too. then it will be record in TMDSAA lol. 2 PT got accepted in one year! 😀

Hey guys my interview is coming up feb2 monday at houston? Any advice, plz help. I know all about be yourself, be honest.... I'm so stressed out. Do they ask you a lot of questions this year?

Hey Danny, I was @ the Jan 12th interview in SA, too! Where were you sitting @ that huge conference table? I still haven't heard anything from Houston & my interview was Dec 1. I'm hoping more for SA though; Good luck to you man!

Wow according to your predent profile you were interviewed at UCSF. How did you manage that? I talked to several people who told me that they wouldn't even consider me for an interview because I had a 16 on the QR. And thats because I had a 3.9+ and a 21 AA. You obviously did something right so congratulations. Somehow knowing what I know now I wish I would have left Texas and experienced something new.

I was the guy with glasses( I think only one) and older than others cross of Justin and the one asked about Biochemistry and living expenses from Justin and the one asked about disscution board in their blackboard system from Dr. Glass and the only one had sturbucks coffee(I can not start my day without coffee 😀) and my interview was with Dr. Glass :scared:.

Ok Guys, today I could talk to Dr. Coppeli in my School(UTD). He was in Dallas for some orientation and talking to pre dental students and.... You know this kind of meetings. The second round will send on Feb 1.forget about "pam" email, it means nothing. :xf:

You can go to the interview feedback and get a sense of what the interview will be like. Over the years, it appears they have specific questions they like to ask.

But, I would keep an open mind that the interview feedback does not cover everything. Congrats on the interview and good luck!:luck::xf:👍

hahaha, I know!! I have no idea how I got an interview @ UCSF either! I've been trying to figure that out since I received the interview invitation, but apparently they saw something they liked on my application, especially since A LOT of other people have higher scores than me. I'm actually leaving Texas today to get there for my interview on Monday. Anyway, it's fun going out-of-state, but you've already been accepted to SA, so Congrats!!! I am so hoping to join you once the Feb 1 acceptances are sent out!

I send my fall transcript las week and already my TMDSAS is upgraded but my DAT score not ( I retook it on Dec16).

so for those of you who have applied before or anyone who knows, what do we look forward to now? Do the rounds just keep coming once a month until May (at least for Houston)?

There are quite a few people in my class at Houston that got their acceptance after January. So, don't worry about it yet. There really are not supposed to be phases just letters sent out as spots open up.

Does this mean they send out all 2nd round acceptances Feb 1 or is it going to be rolling admissions? I'm asking bc one guy on predents and also kikkoka(sorry i forgot your sdn sn) was accepted before Feb 1

Good luck to you man. Cali is great, im sure you enjoyed SF. Hopefully you get to stay in TX though since we have relatively cheap tuition.

According to Dr. P from Houston, it is rolling admissions so acceptances can go until may if seats are available.

how was your interview? 🙂

It went well. The interview was very lax. I also had to answer a question regarding my career change like yourself but it was more like a conversation than an interview. I will take it as a positive sign that my interviewer accidentally lost track of time, but I am not going to waste time or stress over the thought of getting in or not...but for those still hoping for an interview, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it seems Feb. 2nd and the 9th are the final interview days according to Dr. P, but he did state it APPEARS to be the final days...I guess it depends how many seats remain. But I'll hope the both of us will hear some positive news in the next several weeks...keep you hopes up Danny!!! :luck::xf:

I am very glad to hear that. "about you" I am sure you are in, you will see. But as I said I am not happy with my interview. Honestly, I keep my fingers-crossed but if this year is not my year there is another cycle and another application process. I am old enough to know what I am looking for. Wish the best 👍
for me is not several weeks, just 5 days!

it is important to consider all aspects together and the diversity of acceptance.
1-kikoka is international student
2-he interviewed in October
San antonio gives 7-8 seats to out of states which 2-3 seats are for international students( the numbers are not accurate!)
you know what I mean? the catogory you and I belong is different from him(as a Texas resident).
Dr. Cappelli said Feb 1. wait for that day. good luck 👍

On feb 1st, are they sending out letters? does this include waitlist/rejection? last yr, the rejection letters didnt come in until april. I wouldnt hold your breath if i were you, although Dr P and Dr Capelli make all of these claims that we'll know our status in feb, the reality is, they move very very slowly so dont have any particular date in mind as far as when we're going to find out...

the rejections letters will send May-Apri(Texas residents). Feb will be just acceptance letters. good luck 👍

Thanks for the insight danny.

Also, what do yall think about Houston..? Is there any hope left for those who haven't gotten interviews there?

During my interview, Dr. P mentioned that Feb 2nd and Feb 9th will most likely be the last 2 days of interviews at Houston. Although he stated this, he did make it sound that it was not set in stone...in the end, who knows when they will stop...

honestly, I am supprised, you have not heard from Houston, regarding to your major and GPA, and DAT score. even Baylor should show some interest. As I said before Baylor loves to see upper level courses(I assume you have plenty of them). usually baylor fills up its class very early(compare to SA and Houston) but this year they are a little behind and offer interview till Feb. Houston is different story and in my opinion you will be in their Game at least till end of Mar.( last year in my SA interview there was a girl who had interview in Houston in May the year before!)

Hey presj... I remember you from last year, weren't you on the waiting list???? I was hoping that you got it. This year is my second year receiving an interview from Houston, how about you??? I had my interview with Dr. English, who did you have yours with???

hey shans!

great to hear from you. last yr i had dr fullerton and this yr it was dr bahl. both were very nice. im getting the feeling that ill be waitlisted again but we'll see. how did your other interviews go?

Dr. P from UTDB just came my school, University of Houston, to talk to pre-dental students. He told me that about 3/4 of the class has been filled (that's roughly 60 something people) and the last 2 days of interviews for this cycle are Feb 2nd and Feb 9th. He also told me that last year, the last offer was given out in May to fill up the class!

That's good news! Thanks!

so there is about 20+ seats left? 🙁

during my interview on the 26th, he only stated that half have been filled.

I think 3/4 will be filled after this next wave. No school in TX has more than 2/3 filled, I guarantee it.

I think you like the wave metaphor! Hopefully, I will be riding the next wave into Houston !

Just curious, what is the purpose of only filling about 3/4 of the class as compared to just completely filling the class this next round when only 2 interview (Houston) remain?

Filling the class completely would be ideal; realistically, they can try to fill the class in the next wave but the other two schools are going to yank some students as well as some who have already enrolled. They are not going to let in 150% of the remaining seats for the risk of overbooking, so I gather they will try to complete the class and half will accept.

hmm when I called Baylor, they said they are already full and there will be no second rounds of acceptance. they will however send out couple if there is fluctuation but they are already full

also when i called SA, they said they will notify second round of acceptance via phone in rolling admission (which began already apparently) but i donno if anyone has received any calls on this forum

I am not supprised by Baylor.
