I'm applying really late and was wondering how exactly the due dates for the primary works. I am applying to schools that are due February 1st. I know my transcripts were sent to AACOMAS on the 20th of January. Is it the post mark date that counts, the date that AACOMAS says they received everything, or the finalized date that has to be before February 1st?

Pretty sure it is the day AACOMAS sends it out, so if you're not out this Tuesday (Feb 1st) I think you're probably hosed for those schools, for this cycle anyways.

Does Postbach/Graduate program sGPA count towards AACOMAS sGPA?
Or is the AACOMAS sGPA only concerned with undergrade sGPA?

I want to replace my chem 1 grade, took it when I was a freshman and got a C, want an A. Chem 1 isnt offered this semester so the prof agreed to set up an indenpendent study course so I can take it. The problem is that my first chem 1 was 5 hours and at this school its only 4. So because of this the prof and provost said it would be ok to create a chem 1 independent study honors course that will be 5 hours so it will work for me. I called aacomas admissions office to see if it would work and the lady despite being very rude would not give me an answer.

Conversation...

Me: explained situation
Her: sorry sir I cant legally give you advice
me: im not asking for advice, I just want to know if the course will replace my old one
Her: sorry sir i cant legally give you advice
me: so how do i find this out
Her: talk to your premed advisor
me: how would my premed advisor know if aacoms cant even give me a straight answer
Her: sorry sir I cant legally give you advice
me: so you cant even tell me yes or no or how I can find this out
Her: i cant tell you if you should take a class or not
me: im not asking that, I want to know if it qualifies as a grade replacement
Her: I don't think you understand, aacoms cant legally give you advice
me: can I talk to someone else who knows what they are talking about and isn't so rude

she hangs up

I guess Im just asking how I find this out
1st course: General Chem 1 5hrs
replacement: General Chem 1 honors 5 hrs (independent study-not sure if this will show up or not)

anyone...is there any reason this wont work, it would raise my science gpa from a 3.25 to a 3.45 which would be very nice when applying. I just don't want to spend the money on tuition if there is some stipulation that im missing. The course description and title are pretty much the same.

Well, first off, to answer your question, I am pretty sure the new, replacement course has to be worth the same number of credits as the old one. If the class and the lab are taught separately but add up to an equal or greater number of credits than the old one (assuming it was combined lab-lecture) then it can still count, I believe.

As for AACOMAS, that sounds really wierd. Almost makes me want to call them to find out if they really can't give me any advice.

Yea it was ridiculous, I could not believe how rude she was. I guess im just going to take it and hope for the best...the professor, whos head of the chem department is going to design the course so I'm sure she can tweak the class to match exactly what I need including the material the last one covered. The last one was 5 credit hours lecture and lab combined and this one will be the same. Thanks for the advice and I hope they are nicer to you then they were to me.

ok this is probably aswered already but still gonna ask it any. I still have organic lab to complete and the MCAT in august. can i submit my stuff after my mcat score comes out and show the organic lab as pending or should i wait till the grade for the organic lab is back? simply saying do i have to have all the courses completed to submit or i can show them pending while i submit my primary after my MCAT? please help
