Same. Well, mid-August - but still. Waaaaaiting is wearing on me. 😴
 
I called the office today about getting a student host, and they sent me an email within 10 minutes with a list of people I could contact. Very helpful!

we're going to rock it.

I will probably fly--southwest is really cheap. The other option is the acela express. Very comfy but a bit pricier.

Also, for the student host list, are people just emailing all of them or are you selecting one or two at a time to try?

Anybody verified mid August and receive the secondary, or are they still just backed up?

I was verified at the end of July and just received the secondary a couple days ago.
 
I'm kind of confused; I'm still listed as incomplete. I submitted and paid on 8/26m, and they got my letters from AMCAS back in July. I didn't upload a picture until a few days ago, though, but nothing is listed as received when I go to check my status. Should I call or just wait?

It takes a few days after you upload to post so I would wait

Same boat as you, I submitted on 8/26 and they had everything on file, fees photo and letters. So I will wait until next week and if it doesnt change I will give them a call.

If they had everything you should be complete they received my letters on tuesday and was complete on wednesday

Thats what I thought, I even emailed them a week later but I havent received any replies. My letters of recommendation were received July 23rd. I will call them and check my status, thanks for the advice.

I just called them and the lady was super nice; they didnt receive my fee waiver so I emailed her a copy of it while on the phone. Then she updated my file as being complete since they had everything else. I would recommend calling them if your file wasnt updated.
 
I may just do that as soon as I get out of work. They'll probably still be open. Thanks, DW!
 
stupid question - how do you know if youre complete or incomplete? what does it say on the status msg?

When you log into the website, under your information it should say whether complete or incomplete. also, the bottom of the page, there are three boxes that should have dates in them

I was freaking out that no one wanted to host me and then two people responded to my request. I guess I should free up one of those to be courteous to other interviewees. ^_^
 
I have a question about the secondary:

Is this the biomedical program (I figured it wasn't business, but the wording is really odd). Also, I assume I am applying for Fall 2011-12. I want to enroll next Fall, but the notation makes no sense to me again.

Just to verify, is this the essay questions: "Please copy and paste a one-page statement regarding your current interest in the field in which you wish to pursue graduate study and your future professional goals. You may also include any further information you think would be helpful in considering your application."

I recently received an interview invite to Drexel, I am very excited and grateful. I would like to schedule my interview day as soon as can but I am not sure which day to choose.
I am in a situation where I am currently in a SMP (Certificate rather, not the Drexel IMS though) program and would like to ideally be at a point where I can show Drexel my grades from the program (I do not think I will be retaking the MCAT), which would mean I should choose an interview date much later in the year, possibly early next year even.

That said, I have vibe that there is a relatively large volume of drexel interview invites and since this is rolling admissions, I'm not sure if it would be more advantageous for me to secure an early interview date, and hope they would, at the LEAST, put me on hold after the interview until my SMP fall grades are in.

Anybody with insight on this, particularly with Drexel Medicine and admissions process, that would be much much appreciated.

i would take the earliest interview date b/c if they gave you an invite then they were okay with your grades, overall application, etc. up until now. if you really want them to wait for your grades before making a final decision you could try making that request. i would grab the opportunity at an interview though.
 
I called to see what was up about why my app was still listed as incomplete and they updated it. Now, well... I wait some more.
 
Ugh. My primary application was verified August 17, and I still haven't heard a single peep from Drexel. I tried the trick to see if I could access a secondary regardless, to no avail. I emailed them yesterday to ask if they're missing any information or anything and was told "the email will be sent in the next few weeks." Seriously? This is what you're doing, Drexel? It's already been a month, and you're going to get your no-screening secondary to me in the next few weeks? If this is how they run things, it really makes me wonder if I even want to go there.

Receiving a ton of applications would be an excuse if they had some sort of meaningful screen. They don't screen, though. I'm trying to think of all possible reasons that it would take them over a month. All I'm coming up with is ineptitude, disorganization, and/or bad attitude. This should really be automated. Failing that, they should be able to hire a handful of conscientious temps for the application season, and have a turn-around time of a few days tops. What kind of office are they running over there?

They probably don't want to overload their system. They are probably sending secondaries out, reviewing them, and then giving out more secondaries. This way no one has to wait months and months for decision. From the thread, it seems decisions are made within a month of you submitting. They get so many apps that I wish more schools did it like this.

I'll take it as not a good sign. 3.45, 37R OOS. Application completed and received 8/16

I still don't understand their process. I was complete before 8/16 and I'm still at "no decision". I want to hear from youuuuuuu Drexel!
 
Invite today via status page (no email yet). Scheduled for October 25th. Earliest available dates were around the 20th.

Second interview here in two years. Hope they like me this time around.
 
I think I am going to call tomorrow. It's been over a month since I was completed and still no decision. I want to go out to philly. 🙁

Let me know how that goes. If it works, I'm gonna call too. This is definitely one of my top schools so I really want them to look at my app!

Good luck. It's been over a month and I still don't have a secondary. It doesn't seem like they're running a real tight ship over there.
 
a lot of people have been complete. I have been complete since they first released the secondaries. not sure what's up, i guess we have to be patient or something.

I am guessing they received tons of applications so they are behind. But calling might help, the lady there is super nice just make sure to call in the morning before they get busy or right after they come back from lunch.
 
Didn't someone say a few pages ago that they review by the date they received your primaries? Those of you who currently have interviews (Congrats!! 😀), were your primary apps submitted/verified early June?

No, there's not really rhyme or reason. I got my interview invite last week (9/9), but this was my timeline:

AMCAS verified: 7/19
Secondary received: 8/6
Secondary submitted: 8/16

I never got a complete e-mail or anything like that, went straight to interview invite.
 
^this can't be true. I was verified June 2nd and complete over a month ago at drexel and still have no decision. (2 posts up now)
 
here's my info. hope it helps in finding a trend:

AMCAS verified: 6/16
Secondary received: 8/6
Secondary submitted: 8/9
Complete (by obsessively checking status page): 8/16
Interview Invite (saw status first, email few hours later): 9/9
 
I haven't gotten a secondary from drexel yet (verified mid august), so I just used the "get your own id" technique and submitted. Hope it doesn't work against me. 🙂
 
My AMCAS was verified on July 29th. Submitted the secondary on around 8/23 since I realized I had a password from last year. Interview invite today.

Thanks, Wolfie! I think the only reason I heard so early with my stats is that I'm in-state, female (Drexel is the reworking of the Women's Medical College of Phila.) and non-trad. Hopefully it goes well, I really want to be a doctor and Drexel seems like a great fit to do that!

Wow, Geekchick, you ROCKED the MCAT! I imagine you should get an interview from Penn too with those numbers.
