Interview invite after been complete since August... am I sure they really want me or is this a sympathy interview.... lol

I don't think its a "sympathy interview". They interview late into the cycle, and despite what SDN says.. the game isn't over in November/December.

Good luck!

You should have known from the start?

I can't believe I referenced that. Just felt right .

Another song I always think of during this process is The Foundations...

"Why do you build me up... (build me up) buttercup, baby, just to let me down?..."

you know the rest...

It totally made my day, and FWIW, I can't believe I referenced it right back. NKOTB was so much better though. =D

And Build Me Up, Buttercup is a totally apropos song for this process.

there are a few dates in jan mostly feb and march
There were only dates starting in February when I logged in. Now I'm thinking I should call them to double check because I'd rather go in January!

"Your file has been reviewed and will be re-evaluated later in the season for a final decision. "

Did anyone receive an interview after their status was changed to this?

I called early this afternoon and managed to get my interview switched from February 7th to January 18th. The gentleman I spoke with mentioned that there were two additional spots open on the 18th, but I believe this was the only available date in January. Give them a call tomorrow.

Also in the status changing club - back to "under review by the committee"...

Obliquity, I noticed that you have an acceptance to NJMS. Do you prefer Drexel over NJMS?? If so, why?

OK, thanks for the info. I'll call and check.

I can get more in depth in a PM if you want, but I'm on the fence - Drexel is quite a bit more $$$, though I've been told to go where one "fits" best, and where one can get the best residency, and to weigh cost as a lesser factor. My Drexel interviewer actually went to NJMS, and said the schools are fairly equal as far as academics (yes, I actually brought it up when I saw his diploma), although Drexel may be a bit more "shiny" in terms of facilities. NJMS has the hospital attached, Drexel's is 20 mins away. Philly > Newark. Do you have acceptances to both schools?

I got an interview invite about 30 days after getting this status.

I'm in the same boat having acceptances to Drexel and NJMS and my Drexel interviewer also attended NJMS (though I did not bring that up but nice touch!). Was your interviewer in Infectious Diseases? I'm still not sure which one I would pick, especially being NJ in state and having to pay a lot more for Drexel.. But alas, the waiting game continues so I don't have to make a decision yet at least.

I have one at Drexel and I'm going to hear back from NJMS pretty soon. I was thinking that NJMS would be the obvious choice considering the tuition. The level 1 trauma center is also a big one for me. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't NJMS have better rotation opportunities as well??

The one thing that draws me to Drexel, like you, is the proximity. l live in Deptford so I might not even have to move.

My interviewer was in Infectious Diseases... I bet we had the same interviewer! Definitely the most intense interview I've had so far...

I got a final decision on Tuesday. I thought that was odd because the committee meets every Thursday and most people in here get their status change on Friday. I really hope this is not a rejection otherwise I ll be really upset. :scared:

I wonder if they are doubling up meetings to compensate for holidays.

Good luck on the final decision!

It seems possible to me. I interviewed on Dec 7th and Dr. Parrish said we'd hear in approximately 3 weeks... I am not going to hold my breath since that clearly doesn't jive with everyone here's experience, but it does imply that they might be trying to make a push to speed things along.

I sure hope so. I interviewed on 11/11 so it's over 4 weeks for me... but my status has been bouncing around a lot

That'd be an awesome Christmas present! But hopefully they don't go too fast... I want them to actually look at us and see how magical of a fit it would be 😍

I interviewed the week after you, tom, and my status hasn't changed yet. Just sharing. I had mentally prepared myself for waiting until mid-Jan, but we if hear soon that (especially if its good news) that'd be incredible.

When did you interview? I interviewed at the beginning of November, and I'm still under review by the committee...

I'll be interviewing here soon. It's mentioned in the invite and elsewhere that we should expect the day to end around 3:30. For those who have come through here, would I cut it too close if I tried to make a flight at 4:30. I'm planning on taking the regional rail to the airport and there's a transfer. Perhaps I should just take a 6:30p flight to be safe?

Thanks for any input. And anyone recently staying at the Student Guest House? Some reviews on here have been positive.

If your flight leaves at 4:30, you'd probably be cutting it very close. It depends on if you have a morning or afternoon interview (you won't know until the day of), and whether or not you choose to go to the optional curriculum Q&A session. Personally, I wouldn't want that one extra thing to stress about on interview day. If you have a 6:30 flight option, I would choose that. But see what other people think, too.

Drexel has a decent list of hospitals that one can rotate through. There are a few hospitals that you can choose to do all your rotations at. And of course, for 4th year you can apply to away rotations, so you're not limited to Drexel's affiliated clinical sites.

Many level I & II trauma centers (I noted them for you).

I stayed there, for a 12/2 interview, and it was fantastic. The hostess is really friendly and accommodating. It's literally around the block from the CoM, and the hostess will, after breakfast she cooks for you, drive you there. Some of the other interviewees decided to stay downtown, and they all had issues with getting to the campus.

Thank you Tomh98. I've noticed that you've been giving us some very useful advice this cycle. If you're still waiting for the acceptance here I hope you'll get it soon. I have no doubt you'll make a great contribution to the upcoming class.

Thank you Norick for another positive review of this establishment. I'm hoping they have space for me.

I got the final decision status last Friday, and still no letter. If it doesn't come by Saturday, should I call them next week? It'd be just my luck if it got lost in the mail or something like that...🙄

I'd give it a few more days after that. It can take up to 10 days for folks to get it which puts you into mid next week.

I wouldn't worry yet, I like 45 minutes from the school, got the final decision last Friday and got my letter today. 12 weeks post interview.

Acceptance letter recieved today, interviewed early Oct. Withdrew last week. Hope someone gets my spot, GL!

I just got the "Final Decision" status today... interviewed first week of November

Good luck to everyone waiting on their decisions!

For those who have been accepted, is there any interest in a FB page for DUCOM Class of 2015? I was thinking of putting one together.

Hey guys!

Does anyone know what the time line is expected to be for those of us who interviewed Nov 18?

God I love this school - I hope they love me back! Just enough to offer me a seat lol

Thanks for the kind words. You made my day 🙂

I hope it's the good final decision!! :xf: Does anyone know if statuses change throughout the day or if they change all at once i.e. in the morning? I interviewed the second week of November and i've been "under review by the committee" for a while now but still have "no decision". I'm wondering if there is any point in checking the status page multiple times today...

I was the week before you, and the person who was interviewed a week before me got a status update today. So, probably at least week or two (not counting holiday weeks I'm sure) before you see a status update, and a week or more to get the letter after that.

Do you all see these status changes on the website or through email? I interviewed on 11/1, and my status still says something like interview scheduled/attended please wait 6-8 weeks.

It was through the website. 🙁 seems a tad out of sync but who really knows

I interviewed the day after you, and my status hasn't been the same for the last week or so. Changes almost by the day haha

Is there anybody else who's preparing for their interview here having trouble accessing the interview feedback section for Drexel? I can see pretty much all the other schools just fine but every time I click on the survey part of Drexel, my browser keeps loading and loading but is never able to open the page. It's almost as if there were too much feedback/info in there that the page has crashed. I can see that Drexel has the most feedback of all the schools. This is disconcerting! What if I can never see the feedback before my interview?

I also got a final decision status today after interviewing in mid-October. It took over 9 weeks, but I'm glad to finally have something concrete coming. Has anybody gotten rejected yet after a final decision?

Also can I ask you guys something????

Is it better to have no decision made yet then hold status??

A few of my classmates got put on hold at Drexel but I have yet to hear a peep from them. I've been complete for a while now. At least since september but prob. before.

Does it mean they haven't gotten to my app yet or that I am still under consideration? Just curious.

I would also like to know the answer to this. I have been at "no decision" since mid August. I don't know how they could be so backed up as to not have looked at the app once by this point. Since I don't think I have seen anyone rejected pre-interview here (maybe I am wrong?), I am favoring a silent rejection.

yeah hedge, in the exact same position. it's now making me upset. they should at least review us and then let us know what's up. a lot of people have either gotten invites or holds. I submitted their 2ndary in early august .

Same on the early august submission. It's also sad that I have to keep checking the site to see "no decision" every time, instead of passively waiting for an email that doesn't come, haha. Hopefully we'll hear something soon.

yeah I remember I called awhile back and they said it literally means they haven't read my app/reviewed it. Not sure how true this is though...

Try another browser maybe. You are right, there are a TON of responses and it's slow. PM me if you have problems, I can PDF it for you.

Finally got "a final decision" today, looks like I'll be getting news before Christmas!

For anyone curious about the timeline,

9/29 - Interview
11/8 - "...a member of the committee..."
11/29 - "...the admissions committee..."
12/10 - "A final decision..."
:xf::scared::xf::scared::xf::luck::luck::luck:

ACCEPTED!!!

First one!!! Good luck to everyone!!!
