Just booked my flight for this interview! Anyone who's interviewed here already, can you give advice about the interview process/where to stay/best method of transportation? Trying to stay on the cheaper yet quality side of things as my funds are running a little low lately.
Was going to PM you, stephdadancer, but thought I'd post for all to see since I know everyone gets a little nervous about the process.
I just interviewed this week. The interview was painless. I interviewed with a basic science prof but others interviewed with Ms. Walk and clinical faculty.
It did come as kind of a surprise since my interviewer just walked in the middle of a presentation and called my name. This was good since I did not have time to get nervous. You are interviewed in the order you arrive (relatively) so you if you want to have better idea of when you'll be interviewed (e.g. 1st), get there early.
Interview process: Be prepared to fill out another form-- questions about family, high school, college, why Howard, etc. Nothing too hard. There were presentations on Howard, financial aid, and the curriculum. Lunch was rushed but filling. The student tour guides were great-- candid and very informative. Come prepared with all questions, they are def a great resource. And we were done by 1:30 PM.
I can't advise on where to stay since I live in the area and thus, did not have to worry about it. In terms of transport, I just took the metro (green/yellow line) to Shaw-Howard University and walked to the med school. The walk, even in heels, was fine but I walk everywhere so am used to it.
All in all, a great day. PM me if you have any specific questions.
Hope that helps! Good luck to everyone!
