Thank you to everyone!!! Thank you, thank you!!! I feel so honored to be accepted. I've thought about this moment for ever and I still can't believe it is happening.
To my fellow acceptees (is that even a word?), I can't wait to meet you all. For now, I'll join the FB group... look for Kasey
To those of you still waiting, I will continue to pray for you and I will still be here on SDN for any q's or comments 😀😀

I have been so blessed. I am so happy to be specifically going to Howard University College of Medicine, my TOP choice!!

Congrats Beeweew!!!!!! I don't get off of work til 6 but The anticipation was killing me so I logged in to SDN from my Evo LOL. I'm sooooooooooooooo happy for you! It would have been a tragedy if they didnt let u in :-D

I am still waiting for an interview. I would like to nudge them. Does anyone have any advice? Has anyone tried this and did it work?

Oh, btw, I didn't mean to keep everyone waiting this morning. I actually started calling at 8:30 in the morning but everyone was out of the office b/c of the committee meetings they have. I figured I'd take a break from exhausting my phone and call after lunch which was when I found out. I couldn't even log on SDN b/c I wanted to make sure I had the good news beforehand.

the best thing would be to call for an update of your application. I got my interview right after I sent in my fall grades and told them about the additional community service that I was doing. Good Luck!!!!

Did you send a transcript of your grades or just stated what they were in an email?

And here's where the shortcomings of electronic communication come in; I cannot adequately express how much I appreciate these words of encouragement nor how much they draw me to HU. I applied to HU because of the large overlap between their values and mission and my own professional ambitions. I now grow to love HU more because of the amazing energy & support I get from students and I haven't even stepped foot on campus! Thank you guys! And HereHoping62, I too hope we get some good news from HU soon. I'm sending up prayers for both of us! 🙂

How do you send these updates? A manuscript for which I am co-author was recently accepted to J Comp Neuro. I am thinking of adding it to my file to help nudge things in the right direction. Any/all help is greatly appreciated!

Oh, and when I sent my update a few months ago, I first e-mailed Ms. Walk and then called to make sure they had received the e-mail. It's always good to follow up the e-mail with a phone call just to be on the safe side and guarantee that they have received your update!!

You can give updates via email but make sure you call them also so that you may inform them that you just sent an update via email. That way you can stick out amonst the 30-40 emails they probably recieved that day.

I'd like to drop in to say hello to everyone as well...

To everyone waiting, I want to let you know that I (as well as several others on this forum) pray for you guys daily. We were once in your position... and likewise, you will be in ours. Keep faith and continue to be strong. God truly is infinite.

Hope everyone is well. Sent my manuscript in this weekend; been getting the answering machine at HU when trying to call and confirm receipt. No worries though. Thanks for the continued support. I appreciate it. 🙂
