Rest assured, you've been accepted somewhere, so that's good... sit back and relax...

I agree, that question was uncalled for... interviewers need to know that there are boundaries... I know that we all have to be professionals, but this lady is yet to become a doctor...and one shouldn't expect them not to get uncomfortable when when discussing penile erection or flaccidity... I know they call such things "PIMP-ing" when u r on rounds... but I personally believe this crossed the line... but like others have said, you just have to be thick skinned about it because although the interviewer sounded like a jerk, I don't think he broke any legal rules (moral rules maybe).

On a side note, I have my Drexel interview in 2wks, but really don't feel like going since Meharry acceptance. Kinda knocks the interviewing wind outta ya when u get an acceptance.....it takes a lil certainty away. Again, GL 👍

Thank you for your comments. And Congratulations on your acceptance:highfive:

I've been accepted as well, but I'm relenquishing my spot to attend school closer to home. Good luck to those waitlisted/still waiting for interviews! Meharry is a great school.

So.....did anybody with the cbc email get that letter yet? My three weeks is up tomorrow and I will definitely be calling bright and early!

Congrats JRWhiter. I wish you much success!

Hi all,

I'm brand new to SDN and only just joined because I received my very first med school interview invite to Meharry today 🙂

If anyone was given an interview on March 21st please message me. It'd be great to get to know someone before heading over to TN.

Also, if anyone has any advice for me, please know it's VERY welcome. I must admit I'm pretty nervous since this is my first invite!

CONGRATS GatorBelle!!!
If you don't mind me asking, when were you complete? Best to you on the interview!

I finally got an interview for March 14!! Anyone else who has that interview date please reply back to me or message me!😀

I got the criminal background check letter a few days ago, and I interviewed this past monday (1/24). Hopefully this is good news!

I'm ALMOST sure a background check means you were accepted. Don't quote me on that though lol

Anyone interviewing this coming monday?
Also, does anyone have any information regarding their MD/PhD program?
Can anyone apply for it (if interested) or is it a seperate application where you had to initially indicate your interest on the AMCAS application?

One of my good friends is interviewing Monday 🙂

I can't answer your questions about the MD/PhD program, but I am also interviewing on Monday!!! Yay!!!🙂🙂🙂

For those that have already interviewed, did anyone bring their parents? I'm from Texas and I'm interviewing at Meharry and my mother wants to come with me. Do you know if there any provisions for guests?

My mom came with me but she didn't come to the school with me because it was snowing and the school was shut down but I'm sure she could walk around the campus on her own if she wanted to but I don't think they would have anything specific for her to do.

Thanks Serious7. I guess I'll bring her. I just hope she doesn't get too meddle-y. *shrugs*

LoL congrats on your interview! I found out more information about the MD/PhD from the school website.......it seems anyone interested in such a program is free to pursue it based on them being accepted to each program seperately.

Goodluck to everyone with monday interviews 😀

I was recently wait listed. Any advice on getting off the wait list? Is there any movement (anyone taken off the list) before April 15?

To whom should I send letters of interest/updates?

Thanks!

I was actually complete October 21st. I'm not the most competitive applicant out there, if I'm being honest. I'm just glad they are giving me the opportunity to interview.

I also received an interview invite for March 14! I replied back to confirm the date, but I haven't heard back from them yet.

Did you get a confirmation email back? It says not to make travel plans until you do, so I'm wondering how long it will take.

Sorry for the wait-list - keep your chin up and hope for the best...

As for letter of intent, you may wish to send one to Mr. Graves and the Dean of Admissions... at least that should let them know how much you wish to go to this school. Good luck on the wait.

Just got an acceptance letter!!! God is great!!!

Thank you! I interviewed on January 10th.

How long after you released your background check information did you get your letter?

A week. Monday to Monday. Did you see my post in the MSU thread? I may see you on the 24th.

ETA: Sorry I misunderstood the question. I released my info on Friday but that was after I had already called Mr. Mosley. I received the CBC request last Monday.

I don't think they wait for your background check to be released because my letter was dated and mailed on the day that i got the cbc request.

I interviewed on the 7th as well. There were a lot of people so not sure if I remember you. What was your interesting fact? I remember what people say so maybe I can put a face to your name. I got my acceptance yesterday as well, but I won't be attending. Congrats to all who were accepted!

Congrats! I finally got mine today as well. I interviewed on the 7th

I got an acceptance letter yesterday also...and interviewed on January 10th!

First one is the BEST one!

I was in the morning group. I said I'm American but did not "learn" English until highschool because I went to an immersion school and grew up speaking French. I also walked in and out a couple of times during the financial aid presentation.

@daniellef07,

When you called Mr. Moseley what did you say? Were you just checking up with him on your status since it had been 3 weeks? Also, I will see you at MSU.....are you from michigan?

Yeah it had been 21 days so I called and told him I hadn't heard from the school yet. Yes, I'm from Detroit and I go to Michigan.

I interviewed the 10th too! And just got my acceptance!! This is my top choice so I will be attending! CLASS OF 2015!! whoot whoot!

Oh ok I remember that. Congrats!

Well something weird happened. I completed my secondaries in early-mid October, and I got a rejection letter at the end of November🙁. I just got an e-mail earlier stating:

We were pleased to receive your application for admission to the School of Medicine. The tremendous volume of applications for the limited number of positions available makes it impossible to interview every eligible applicant. Due to the highly competitive nature of medical school admissions, we regret that your application did not receive approval for an interview at this time. Therefore, the School of Medicine Admissions Committee has placed your application on Hold.

We are still in the process of reviewing other applicants. If you have additional grades or MCAT scores that may affect the final decision on your application, please e-mail [email protected]. We will not review any new letters or other materials at this time.

Please be assured that every consideration will be given before a final decision is rendered.

WTF?? What does this even mean - am I rejected or placed on hold without an interview (I didn't even think they had a category like that?)

That is strange 😕
I'd email Mr. Mosley and find out exactly whats going on. It sounds like your on hold because they're willing to look at grades and any
un-reported MCAT scores but new letters and activities are out the window.

Goodluck and let us know what you find out

I just e-mailed my last semester's grades and waiting for his reply. Is Dr. Mosley quick about responding?

Haha I went to michigan too..private message me who you are lol

I'm not sure....when I spoke with him he said that all the information he receives is forwarded to the admissions committee and we all know how they move! 🙄
At any rate, if you express deep interest in attending Meharry, they take that into heavy consideration. From what I was told, the waitlist does move alot and you can find yourself being interviewed and admitted (albeit late) if you keep in contact with the office and provide organized updates.

Goodluck and be aggressive (within reason)....thats been my policy lol

Hey! Has anybody been looking at apartment complexes off campus? I want to have a back-up just in case I don't get a spot in Royal Towers. Current students, if you know of any nice apartments in the area you're suggestions are more than welcome!

Danielle, I interviewed Jan. 7 too and I remember your story but I can't put a face to you. My interesting fact was that I lived in Japan for 8 years.

O and congratulations to everyone with acceptances! Good luck to all those with upcoming interviews! Yay! 🙂

Man waiting to hear back from the admissions committee post interview is for the birds:whistle:

I haven't been able to read my letter yet, so I'm not sure exactly what it says. To those who have confirmed your acceptances, did you email Dr. Mouton or write a letter?

I wrote a letter. It was short and sweet. 🙂

Hey! I am new to the medical forum and wanted to touch bases with anyone who has interviewed on January 21st. I have sent in my background check to Meharry and just wondered how long it takes them to accept or waitlist you. It is soooo stressful waiting. :xf:
