Hey y'all. And congrats to everyone who got an invite!

I've been away for a while (not away, more like myopically immersed in my quotidian existence), but I was wondering if people could help me out.

I'm an OS with par to sub-par stats, and my Supp. was "confirmed complete" on 9/10. I still haven't heard anything back, so I'm starting to feel nervous.

Thoughts? Reassurances? Well-meaning but ultimately hollow platitudes and condolences about the experience of having a dream deferred?

been complete for as long if not longer and nothing either so put your patience cap on 😎

I completed my secondary in September after procrastinating on it for about a month, but I got an interview invite last week. Hopefully, you should hear something soon.
 
Does anyone, who is interviewing on October 25th, want someone to split the cost of a room with? I'm a 23yr old female (and would only like to split the cost with a female)...I understand if no one does b/c I guess it could be kind of awkward. I just don't really want to fork up the cost of the plane ticket and two nights at a hotel (since I have to fly in on Sat).

Out of curiosity when did you guys get the complete email?? I turned my app in at the end of september, but I just got the complete e-mail yesterday...is that weird??

not weird at all. last part of my apps (letters ) were sent to amcas on 9/2 and I was complete 9/14 so two to three weeks is not weird at all
 
Unfortunately going to have to withdraw my app from here as I'm out of money from interviews already and already have some acceptances. Hope my interview spot goes to one of you worthy people and :luck: to everyone throughout the rest of this cycle!

I was complete 8/17.
 
I was complete 9/3 and was invited to interview yesterday for Nov 8th. I'm excited because my birthday is Nov 4th, and I'll be a brand new 23-year-old 😀

I've never interviewed at Meharry before, but this is my second application cycle since graduating in 2009 and also completing a post-baccalaureate program. I hope everything goes well for myself, everyone else interviewing, and everyone waiting as well!! 👍
 
No interview invite yet...trying to patiently wait!

I got an email on the 22nd saying that Meharry received my application. Here we go. Is anyone else out there at this stage? Thanks and be blessed!!

I interviewed here yesterday and I was more impressed than I ever thought I would be. Here's the skinny for those of you who have future interviews...

10 candidates attend the interview session... 50% Blacks & 50% all other....
Everyone had 2 interviews (timed: 30mins each) and the questions asked by each interviewer were broad... with the exception of "Why Meharry?" We also had a financial aid session that lasted ~30mins, a 30min tour and an hour lunch with 4 current 2nd year medical students (again 2 blacks and 1 Hispanic and 1 Armenian)...

It seems like they really valued all those who came to the interview and they made an effort to make us feel wanted - I like it when a Medical school isn't cocky... everyone made us feel welcome.
 
As far as the broad questions, was it conversational or one unrelated question after the other.

Good luck, when do you hear the decision by??

any interviews yet? I did not know they send out secondaries to everybody that applied. on MSAR it said you have to get screened in order to get secondary. 🙄

actually a little of both, my first interviewer was very conversational and it seemed like the questions just came from his head..... while the second (although still conversational) read standard questions from a paper while occasionally noting down my responses = Scary~~~!

Calm ur nerves a little.... submitting early helps; but you know at least you submitted and tried for this cycle...who knows you could possibly still be admitted to your #1 choice.

I submitted early and I've heard some good news and also some bad news. And in life, you just have to move on, put ur best foot down and roll with the punches. The process of applying to medical school in the US is tough (more so, if you know ur apps is lacking in a specific area e.g. mine)... but we all got to keep on keeping on.

Good luck this cycle though..... and calm down a little.

Okay just wanted to make sure as I skimmed back through this thread that a photo was not required when the secondary was submitted. I have already submitted the secondary but I did not see a prompt for a picture...thought it a little strange and maybe I missed something.
 
Does anyone know if they respond well to letters of interest? If I was going to write one, should I e-mail it to the general admissions e-mail, or try and send it to an actual person on the committee?

I don't know about letters of interest but when I called I was told that it is best to email any questions or concerns to general admissions.
 
I got the "Your Meharry Medical College Application is Complete." on 10/25 at like 2 AM. Random email times. LOL. Waiting to hear something!! Hoping for good news!!! Anyone else at my stage? Heard anything else???
 
Im trying hard not to freak out, really would love to go here. Still waiting on an interview

Hey out of curiosity how long after you sent your secondary did that email take to come? I am still waiting for confirmation and the payment has cleared my account....?

I completed my supplemental on 10/17. It was confirmed on that applyweb website on 10/22.
 
I interviewed here last cycle. sadly, i didnt get off the waiting list. Nice school tho.... Not going to reapply to this school... hope everyone does well this cycle
 
AMCAS complete: June 5
Secondary Received: August 22
Secondary complete: August 31
Interview Invite: November 4
Interview: December 13

Seems like it's taking awhile to hear back so don't give up hope. Hope that helps!
 
Accepted meharry class 2015!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The first acceptance does feel so good.
