I go to school here in Nashville so I'll be driving 🙂

Nice! I'm coming to Nashville for the weekend to do some touristy things. Any suggestions (ie. great places to eat/attractions)? PM me if you'd like and GOOD LUCK =)

Thanks for the prayers 🙂 i interview at michigan state tomorrow for their post bac though :/ thanks for the well wishes!!

I hope you get off the waitlist! This whole process can be very draining, but you're not alone. Good luck tomorrow 😀

I believe they take around 20 people for post bac. My understand is that they interview everyone for 1st year entering class and then after the interview they waitlist people or refer them for the post bac program. Don't quote me but I believe this to be the case

This is basically how it goes. they select from 20-30 for postbac after they interview for the medical class. Now sometimes they will let you know that you are interviewing for postbac but this doesn't happen alot though.

I got the CBC request four days after my interview and was waitlisted yesterday... Pray for me!

Sure thing but hey it's better than getting rejected outright you still have a chance. All of waitlist applicants get accepted in from February until June so you can easily be accepted. Keep praying on it!!

I'm ALMOST sure a background check means you were accepted. Don't quote me on that though lol

Anyone interviewing this coming monday?
Also, does anyone have any information regarding their MD/PhD program?
Can anyone apply for it (if interested) or is it a seperate application where you had to initially indicate your interest on the AMCAS application?

they said you can claim you want to apply on the amcas BUT if you didn't they will still allow you to switch to the program after 2nd year I believe. you should ask about it as soon as you make it in just to see when you can add the PhD program

Hey! Has anybody been looking at apartment complexes off campus? I want to have a back-up just in case I don't get a spot in Royal Towers. Current students, if you know of any nice apartments in the area you're suggestions are more than welcome!

Danielle, I interviewed Jan. 7 too and I remember your story but I can't put a face to you. My interesting fact was that I lived in Japan for 8 years.

O and congratulations to everyone with acceptances! Good luck to all those with upcoming interviews! Yay! 🙂

Getting into the Royal Towers is extremely hard for 1st years. We only had 1 student who secured a spot. If you haven't been lucky enough to get a spot you should start looking at places now. Meharry will send an apartment guide which is helpful. Most students live at Parc Metro and Bellvue. I just went to google maps and did a search of apartment openings in the area and rented a great spot about 10 mins out without traffic

So true. Thank you for the uplifting words!

When you get the snail mail acceptance they are supposed to send a checklist telling you what you need to send in.If you don't have one be sure to call the office ASAP

Thanks daniellef07 and WhatThaFlocka for your advice!😉

Sent in my letter of interest today and received a "hold status" from Mr. Mosely shortly afterwards. ::sigh::

Hey jellybean, Congrats!! Are you going here for sure?

Hello all, I was wondering if I can gather some advice? A few days ago, I called Meharry to check on the status of my application before submitting an update letter. I left a message with the admissions office and decided to submit my update anyway, a few hours later, I was notified via email that my application was placed on hold.

I wanted to email Mr. Mosely indicating that I recently submitted an update letter.

The advice I am asking is whether or not to send the intended email or "assume" that my application will be reviewed at a later date with the update letter added to it?

It's nearing the end of the application cycle, and think that I should be more assertive and show my interest in interviewing at Meharry but at the same time, I don't want to be a nuisance.

Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Send it! LOL

Already did!! Thanks SpaceDoc! You're avatar reminds me of what we used to say in anatomy dissection class: "When in doubt, cut it out!"

I am still waiting for an interview. If they are still offering interviews, I would like to nudge them. Does anyone have any advice? Has anyone tried this and did it work?

I would send an update letter or LOI and then follow up afterwards. Hope that helps =)

I interviewed Monday and I know it's only Friday, but waiting to hear back feels like eternity!

I was in the 8 am. How about you? And my interesting fact was that in Grade 1, I was put in ESL because I was shy so my teachers thought I didn't speak English 😛 What was your fact?

me too..... i wish we could know if we were under serious consideration or not

Oh I remember you! I was in front of you in the lunch line-up.

Does anyone know if the "high priority waitlist" has been established yet, or are we all getting clumped onto one list?

From what I gather from previous years, high priority waitlists are usually given out after the class gets filled. Meaning high priority waitlisters are folks who would have been accepted if the class wasnt filled yet. They also get notified that they are high priority. Eventually those people tend to get accepted as spots open up as they move through the waitlist. I dont think the regular waitlists are ranked yet at this stage. I may be wrong thouigh. Keep showing interest as you never know...Hope you get off the list soon and join us. Goodluck:xf:

Thanks Docindhouse! I hope to join Meharry soon as well. I was very impressed by Meharry after my interview. Here's to hoping for good news in the coming weeks/months =)

Just got home from work, and received an acceptance letter from Meharry (via snail mail). I interviewed on 2/14, received a CBC request on 2/22, and the letter was dated for 2/25.

Good luck to everyone still waiting to hear back and those waitlisted--I'll keep my fingers crossed for you guys!

Yay, congrats! Were you in the 8am or 10am group for the interview?

8am, did you interview on 2/14 also...and thank you! Congrats to you too (again) lol.

I know the waitlist is frustrating guys but don't give up hope! April 15th, so many spots are going to open up, and us backburner folks will sneak our way in 🙂

Hey all!

I will be in TN March 10-11th; my interview is the 11th. I am excited! Anyone else going to be there during that time? Any interesting things to see and do while in TN? (I'm from NY; will be my first time in TN 🙂)

...And best of luck to everyone this cycle!!:luck::xf::luck:

Hey! There's actually no set score, Meharry tends to look at applicants as a whole.🙂

Just Interviewed today! So excited to see if I am offered a spot! I truly see myself @ Meharry! Pray for me!!!! 🙂

Good luck, Destined2B! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

I don't think Meharry has a high/low MCAT preference although under a 22 would put you at a major disadvantage. They're currently waitlisting (friends of mine) with scores > 25. Its all about "fit" with the school and mission and if you can convey that to them through your AMCAS, Secondary and Interview, stats won't matter too much.
Just my opinion, you may want to contact Mr. Allen Mosely the director of admissions. He's a straight shooter and can give you a better/best answer.

Congrats to everyone IN and to those waiting, IT WILL HAPPEN THIS YEAR DON'T WORRY, KEEP THOSE PRAYERS UP! 👍
