Last night I got a phone call from my POI at UMass Amherst for a clinical psychology PhD interview (February 11-12)... is anyone else interviewing at UMass Amherst?

Hi everyone,

Would the people with invites from U Pittsburgh, U Washington, or U Colorado (at Boulder) be willing to PM me with their POI info and how they recieved their invites?

I really appreciate it, and many congratulations to all.
 
This waiting game is really starting to drive me insane. I definitely can relate to many of you guys. If some people out there do not mind sharing, I would really, really appreciate it if whoever got an interview at Drexel, Northwestern, UMass Boston, Temple, or University of Buffalo could PM me the name of your POI and how you were contacted. This information would really help my anxiety over this whole process. Good luck to everyone else out there.

Reading this forum is like watching Antichrist--it's brutal but you can't look away! You need to see how crazy it's gonna get!

I'm wondering why people don't automatically include who their POIs are when posting that they've heard from schools--certainly it would unclog this forum of the omnipresent "please DM me your POI if you've heard from school X!"

For me: UConn - Fein, PennState - Hillary

I applied to Texas Tech counseling too, but haven't heard anything yet myself or seen anything posted about invites being sent out. However, I believe someone posted earlier in the thread that Texas Tech will be meeting to choose their invitees this week. (I don't think they stated if it was clinical or counseling or both, though). Hopefully we'll hear soon. Good luck!

I believe the reason people are reluctant to post their POI's on the forum, is that it makes them readily identifiable to the grad students and POI in that program. There are several current grad students on here who have said that they check to see if interview invitees to their school have posted on here. I suppose it doesn't really matter if you are just posting on here about interview invites, but if you have been a member of SDN for a while, you might have posts you would not feel comfortable having your potential graduate school to know about.
 
I received a call last night from a UCLA grad student inviting me to the interview weekend Feb 3-5!

PGSP PsyD tried to call, but I was on a plane and missed it....so instead I received an email from POI. I know PGSP PsyD has 3 interview dates scheduled in February, so don't give up hope yet!
 
I listed Temple on there just in case someone has heard something. But I haven't seen anything on this forum or gradcafe so far about anyone getting an invite.

Hi all, maybe we should make it a new policy that if you want to know someone's POI you PM them, instead of posting for them to PM you. I don't know about anyone else, but this can be a lot of messages to sift through. Unless of course that person didn't post it on here, in which case this would be the only way to contact them. Just a thought.

I emailed U of Rhode Island, and they said that they'd be sending their invites in early February and that their interview day was February 28th.
 
Good point. I was referring more to seeing one post going "I got an interview at..." and then others after it saying "please PM me." But I definitely understand posting for someone who didn't write on the thread. I'm sure in a couple of weeks I will be that person, and you can all call me a hypocrite! 🙂

Duke University anyone? If not does anyone know their dates from last year? The website just says invites late Jan and interviews early Feb

Has anyone heard from University of Miami (Counseling) yet? I heard that the interview date is February 17th and they would notify applicants the second week in January, but I haven't seen or heard anything to confirm that.
 
So, you think UCLA clinical sent all their invites out already? 🙁 Also, what about Vandy?

I called Fordham yesterday actually and they said you can expect to here from them by the end of Jan/ early Feb (to come visit sometime at end Feb/ early March).
 
What's up on gradcafe - it says someone got accepted to U Wisconsin-Madison's Clinical program. Weird, maybe it was a mistake and they meant interview. Anyway, it makes no difference to me, I didn't apply there, I'm just being nosy :0.

UNC will hold its Interview Day on February 11, 2011.

Interesting. I emailed Dr. Rosenfeld and he stated the interviews would be at the beginning of February (which is consistent with past years' invites). Seems like there is a bit of miscommunication going around at Fordham!
 
just got an email from my POI at wayne state telling me i'm a strong applicant but they lost 2 of my 3 recs and could i send them again??

Hmm... When was this? Maybe they were planning to do this but because of all the snow, there were delays? I wonder what story I'll get if I call... lol

Ugh. I am so sick of waiting. I thought this week was supposed to be an active one, and I haven't heard anything!

I don't mean to complain, I have been lucky that I do have some interviews, and I know others are still waiting to hear. It's just frustrating to wait around and its making me grouchy.:annoyed:

Ugh how frustrating. I feel like some schools really need to have the people that answer the phone on the same page for the information they give. It seems like sometimes student workers are answering the phone and I felt like if they didn't have an answer for me right away they made a "guess". But I would definitely take the info Dr. Rosenfeld gave you as fact over what I heard. He is the director after all.

Just to clarify...did he mean invites for in person interviews will be received in the beginning of Feb?? Or that the actual in person interviews themselves will happen during the beginning of Feb?

I just saw this too; not really a surprise but still a bummer :/
 
I just got an e-mail from UMass Boston saying they are still reviewing and will send out notifications for interviews between 2/2 and 2/4.
 
"We will meet as a committee in early February to select applicants to invite to our interviews. If you are selected, you can expect a phone call and/or email from a potential mentor between February 2 - 4. Our interview days are Friday February 18 and Monday February 28."

email sent today - guess its another week of waiting....
 
Texas Tech: When I submitted my app materials the secretary told me that they wouldn't begin reviewing until the week of January 10th. I don't think they have contacted anyone yet, so stop worrying. Everything is out of your control at this point so there is really no reason to stress.
