Anyone going to interviews at either Loyola MD PsyD next Friday or Immaculata PsyD next Wednesday?

Still waiting on Widener, Rutgers, and La Salle. My hopes are diminishing about the first two though 🙁

I'll be at Immaculata this Monday but I'll see ya at Loyola on Friday 🙂

Also losing hope on Rutgers...
look back through about LaSalle, someone recently posted on here (in response to my question) that they were going out sometime next week i think?

Why are people losing hope for Rutgers? They don't send out invites until next week.

I saw on Gradcafe that two people received rejections from OSU (Ohio State) on the website--where? I looked under the application status program, and it says my application is still in review. O_O
That's where I saw I was rejected; it said Decision instead of In Review, and I had to click on the "show more information on status" button to get the details. Not sure what it means if your status hasn't been changed.

So apparently my undergrad institution messed up in sending out my transcripts to LaSalle University. I ordered them back in December and LaSalle did not receive them, so I had to go in and order another copy today because I didn't find out about it until last night. Has anyone else encountered this problem? I'm nervous I won't be considered since my application was not complete by the February 1st deadline, but this was something that was out of my hands completely. 😕

Yup, I had this happen too. I have 4 undergrad institution (that's what I get for transferring and taking summer school) and somehow one of my schools lost ALL of them. However, they asked me for my GPA via email and asked for a PDF if I had one, and told me "nothing official can be offered until proper transcripts are received." Because of the lovely Chicago blizzard, everything was backed up, but once they were processed, I got an invite :xf:

If the school asks, they like you, otherwise they'd just throw you out. So you at least made first screening. That happened at Purdue for me, but no interview (bad research match anyway).

Hi,

I am attending the Interview Day @ Loyola U, MD on 02/18 😉

...and GWU the Friday after ...and...I'll see.

Good luck 👍

Can I ask when you heard from uc Denver?

Congrats on all of your interviews!

Hi everyone!

Thus far, I have received interviews from: SHSU Clinical, U of Colorado-Denver Clinical Health, U of North Carolina-Charlotte, Texas Tech Counseling, U of Misourri-Kansas City Clinical, and U of Iowa Counseling.

I have received rejections from: U of Nebraska and U of Kansas

I am most anxious to hear from Duke, George Mason U, Viginia Commonwealth, and U of Miami Counseling- Any word on these??

AMIACCEPTED:

VCU counseling or clinical? I know Counseling invites already went out.

Have you heard anything yet from Iowa? Another applicant was waitlisted according to Gradcafe.

Mine is still in review too, and I still haven't heard anything from them...

My rejection notice was one of the one's from gradcafe; it said "decision" and then "Your application for admission was not approved. You will receive further information on the decision by mail." Maybe there is still hope for you? :xf: 🙂

I hope! The waiting is killing me. I told myself I would never obsessively check this forum when I applied but I seem to be on here multiple times a day. Hm...

See you at Loyola! If you see a skinny girl decked out in brown with big curly hair then that's me 😀 Hopefully see you at Rutgers too!

See you there 🙂 I'll watch out for you. GOOD LUCK! 👍

Does anyone have any new info about UIC or GSU clinical programs? I have called both programs a couple times and have been told that faculty are still reviewing apps. I'm wondering if the interview invites have gone out already or if they are really delayed 😕 Any info would be much appreciated as I am :scared: awaiting my fate from these 2 programs.

Hope all your interviews are going well :luck:

From what I've heard, UIC is done with their invites...🙁...I know it's not official, but I have the feeling we can cross them off our lists...🙁

Sigh. That is what I was afraid of with both UIC and GSU. I don't uderstand though why they are honest and say invites have been extended. Why would they continue saying that faculty are reviewing apps? Thanks and good luck to you.

I applied to Rutgers PsyD and La Salle, too. I know that La Salle's interview days are 3/14 and 3/18 (that's what the admin assistant said when I asked, although I don't have any more info). I haven't seen any invites to Rutgers PsyD, although the date is 2/28. Which makes me think that we are going to start hearing from Rutgers by next week, maybe?:xf:

GSU is done, too.

Sorry!

Hey guys!

Anyone have any pointers or advice about group interviews? What types of activities should I expect? Any help is appreciated!

Sorry, I'm pretty sure that the VCU clinical program already sent out all of their invites and started their interviews the first week of February.

So sorry.

Just got an email from Widener! My interview is Friday the 25th. Oh rejoice. I just made a total fool out of myself on campus by jumping up and yelling. Yikes.

Um. Oops. I working on applying to a Masters Program, so I'm writing another personal statement. I looked at one for a Ph.D. program I applied to--I accidentally called them a different school once in the text. Shoot. Maybe that's why I'm not getting invited for interviews. :/

Does anyone know how common it is for people on a interview invitation wait list to eventually receive interviews?

I'm number 10 on a long wait list at one of my favorite universities, but I always assumed that the waitlist was just sort of for show.

TC-clinical is posted here as offering interview invites by mass email on 2/9. Can anyone comment? I've gotten contradictory info about this, and on grad cafe it said the social-organizational psychology Ph.D. sent out invites on the 9th, but there's no mention of clinical invites. Can the person or people who pm-ed the list about TC verify that it was clinical they were talking about? Thanks!

Still waiting on St. Johns...waiting... waiting... and waiting... and waiting... and waiting.

Great. I also just checked my status on OSU's page--"Your application for admission was not approved." Sigh. Guess I'd better work super hard on this Master's personal statement, now. OSU was my top choice (and I have only one school left to hear from--the one I messed up on the personal statement). 🙁

Sorry to be annoying about this; I know I posted a question about New Mexico just last week... but does ANYONE have any information regarding interviews at UNM for Clinical? I've called the department a couple of times and they just keep telling me "sometime in early March". I've been invited to another interview for the first weekend of March, and haven't confirmed whether or not I'm going because I'm still (foolishly) holding out for UNM. I can't really put off telling the other school if I'm coming for the interview or not much longer. Help! This is soo stressful! :scared:

Just got an email from IUP letting me know they'll be sending out an email next week for invites. I mean, good to know, but I hate that schools keep sending me these pointless emails, getting my hopes up everytime I see I have something from them. +pissed+

I feel your pain!

I am waiting to hear from my #1 choice (total long shot), and imagine my joy when I received an email from the University of X titled, "Welcome!".

It was from their Veteran Services Center 🙄

Nice of them to contact me...but way to give me a heart attack!

Hang in there!

AB🙂

I called and they said they've already given out most invites for clinical but might send more out next week... sounded like they were pretty much done though 🙁

Nope...mine just changed to "not approved". Darn.

There seems to be some confusion about Rutgers. The School PsyD program has their interview day on 3/3 and may or may not have already extended invites. The Clinical PsyD program interview day will be 2/28 and no invites have been extended yet. Faculty meets this Monday, 2/14, so you'll probably hear very shortly thereafter.

Woohoo! Monday the 14th! Finally, some concrete news...good luck to us all! 🙂:xf:

Hey, did anyone get an interview invite to U Denver's Counseling program? I'm surprised at how impersonalized their emails are. Anyone have any idea why they're the only school whose employing this impersonalized method? Is this program different than other programs in some way? Just seems strange. Of course it's more efficient, but I'd guess there's a reason other schools aren't corresponding with people in this way.

I received an email today from UNM and it stated that they were completing the final review and were missing my Psych GRE. I sent them a copy (scan) and ordered yet another official.

So things should happen soon at UNM.

Everyone on this board is wonderful! I've been following this thread since December and I'm so happy to see how eager everyone is to help each other.

This is such a hard process, so everyone here should take a moment to pat yourselves on the back for being strong enough to handle it (especially if you, like me, are having your 2nd or 3rd go at it)! I just recieved an e-mail from a POI I interviewed with saying they would not be extending me an offer of admission. I'm disappointed, but somehow I know it would not have been a good match (and I guess they thought so too). Even with this negative result, I believe the whole thing was a good experience. I am confident that I am slowly becoming the person I am meant to be, and this process is helping me find my way.

I want everyone here to remember that, no matter the outcome, this is a journey worth taking. 🙂

Best of luck to everyone, keep your heads up, and never let yourself forget how great you are. Hope to cross paths with you someday, maybe when we're all lisenced psychologists. :xf:

Hmmm. Ok, that's good to know. It sounds like they are probably interested in you if they asked for more information! Good luck to you! :luck:

I got the same email...
I appreciate them letting us know but ...really? an email to tell us we're going to get another email? kind of silly

Anyone here admission results from UCSB? I heard they were informing everyone sometime this week....

I am devastated! Just called Nova and was told I was rejected. I am so disappointed!

I definitely took it as a good sign, however once they see my psych GRE score they may no longer be interested!

I actually thought that that was a good idea! I feel like it may be more efficient than having just one point person to keep track of all of the RSVPs. What I am somewhat shocked at is the fact that there has been little contact since RSVPing. Hopefully there hasn't been some mass computer glitch.

Now, if we want to speak impersonal, I have to say the most impersonal piece of correspondence I've received would certainly have to be Fordham's "no thank you" letter (I oppose the word rejection, haha!). I thought they were short, pompous, and implied an air of rudeness! 😡

In the Acceptance thread it said acceptances were sent out on 2/8 by the POI. Also, someone else said they were rejected about a week ago. I interviewed at UCSB too and haven't heard anything either, so I have no idea what the deal is...

I'm not sure...when I called they said they would inform everyone together by the end of this week so I'm not sure why people heard earlier...

Thank you; that's really sweet. And you're right--we'll still be growing somewhere, regardless of where we get in or if we get in at all. Grad school isn't everything. 🙂

Got interviews from pretty high-ranked clinical programs but got rejected by some "safety" schools. What's the deal?
Is it really all by chance, match, or connection?

Ditto. It's making it very hard for me to assess my overall strength as a candidate, because there is no consistency at all. I didn't get interviews at the lowest ranked schools I applied to, even though the fit was as good as at the highest ranked school I applied to (where I got an interview). I guess applying to clinical programs really is, like a grad student friend of mine told me, "an absolutely insane crapshoot."

Did you apply for their PsyD or PhD? Both? I think I'll call tomorrow.. Best of luck to you for wherever else you may have applied 🙂
