Did anyone interview with Dr. Alisa Peet? I interviewed with her on Sept 21....thought I'd hear something by now 🙁

just a side note, but Dr. Peet is the sister of actress Amanda Peet😛

😱 They DO look similar. I don't know if that information would have helped me had I known about it prior to my interview (probably not). But that's pretty darn cool. I've got a late-onset starstruck kinda feeling now.

Thats cool - a doctor and an actress. Her parents did pretty well in terms of offspring success

Just got my interview invite yesterday! Secondary completed 9/27

I'm trying to stay with a student host since I'm flying in from out of state, does anyone have recommendations for a particular student host???

Since I've never been to philly before I'm hoping to stay with a super friendly student host that can help me out, lol

Can anyone recommend a good, reasonably place hotel to stay at in Philadelphia? I am flying in. I understand it is better not to stay near Temple because it is in a bad area. Do any of the hotels have shuttles that go to Temple?

I sent in my secondary on 8/26 and am still "under review." Is this a silent rejection? Or does Temple actually send out rejection emails?

Just received my interview invite today...called, and was able to schedule an interview as early as Nov. 2nd! I was really shocked at how soon one was available. This is my first interview and I am a little nervous that I don't have much time to prepare for it. What kinds of questions were you guys asked? And were most of your interview experiences laid back, or did they grill you?
thanks alot and congrats to all those who have been accepted!👍

Has anybody that chose Allegheny as their first choice been interviewed??

When were you complete?

I received an interview invite last week and could only schedule an interview in January. I'm guessing the reason you had the option to get one on Nov 2 is because of a post-Oct 15 withdrawal.

This kind of makes me think about calling and asking if any earlier dates have opened up, but I'm worried that would just be a little tacky and annoying. Any opinions?

does anyone know what a continued status of interview complete means? I interviewed mid-September. Should I be expecting a rejection/waitlist letter or is an acceptance still possible?

I think the former is far more likely. A few/most of us who have the "interview completed" status have had our interviewers go to committee already and no rejections/waitlists have been sent out so it's pretty clear what our actual status is.

I got an invite last week and was able to snag an interview spot for this upcoming week. It was one isolated spot so it definitely looked like someone had recently canceled. I think you might as well call.

So...I got a "continuing candidates" letter. Is this a waitlist or a nicer version of the waitlist?

I sent my app in mid- July and im still under review - this is nuts

I turned in all my apps in July and I've heard nothing from the majority of schools still. I really don't think it's unusual.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Center City on Walnut Street and got the Temple discount (mention "Temple University") and it was AMAZING. They have free breakfast... I'm talkin' scrambled eggs, sausage, and Costco muffins! And then you simply take the subway straight to Temple from the hotel.

I just got accepted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yayyyyyyy!!!!!

I just got accepted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yayyyyyyy!!!!!

ME TOO!!!!!!!!!! 😍

I'm out of my mind excited and almost positive I'll be going to Temple in the fall! YAY!

BTW, 31S, 3.7 cumulative, 3.5 science. and I interviewed 10/05!

Anyone hear anything from Sept interviews? I interviewed on 9/30 and still have interview complete..I feel like my MCAT is the only thing holding me back but I gave it my best shot....I really want to go to Temple.... I will still remain hopeful 🙂 And congrats to the ones that are going to Temple - you are going to be great doctors 🙂

Can someone who interviewed already tell me what time I can expect to be done for the day if I have an afternoon interview (2:30pm)? I have about a 5hr drive to get home so I'm wondering if I should plan to stay over another night. Even a PM response would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

I wondered the same thing for myself, but I only had a 2-3 hr drive home. My afternoon interview lasted until 4ish or so if I remember correctly. I love Philly so if I were you I would stay the night and explore the city. That is if you have the money  Good luck!

Congrats to the most recent acceptances! Temple seems to have a pretty quick turnaround. I like. 👍

I also really like how impressed everyone seems to be with the school... makes me really excited for Tuesday! :soexcited:

Good luck Geekchick! And congrats to my fellow Temple acceptees!

Temple is great, I think it is an extremely well-rounded school and I would think anyone should be proud to go to Temple for medical school! Basically, I loved it there 🙂

Yeah, the turnaround is pretty awesome after you interview it seems. They told us to call if it's been more than 4 weeks since we interviewed if we hadn't heard from them because it shouldn't take longer to hear from them than that.

any more acceptances today? i interviewed 10/13...and i know its kind of soon, but really hoping the adcom meeting today would cover last week's interviews!!

i love temple!!! i dont know if i can wait one more week...

For those accepted: What is the deadline for submitting our tuition deposit to hold our place in the class?

Hey, did anyone ever figure this out?

I definitely want to put the deposit down..I'd just like to wait until I get paid next week

If no one knows, I'll call Monday morning and ask.

🙁 waitlisted. Very disappointing.
In-State resident, 4.0 GPA, 35 MCAT, interviewed 10/5

I'm in the same boat as you, and our stats are very similiar. I'm also quite disappointed. Does anyone know how the waitlist works and if there is a lot of movement?

I think it has some movement - I definitely wouldn't lose hope. Did your online status change or is it still interview complete?

Probably since your stats are so far above Temple's average, they think you are more likely to attend a different medical school and are avoiding offering an acceptance to someone who is likely to turn it down. That is assuming everything else in your app is good, which it probably is, otherwise they might have rejected you.

From what I can tell, the waitlist is the perfect way to deal with people in your position for a school like Temple. Now they can wait and see if you withdraw because you've been accepted somewhere else that you like more. If you don't, that will indicate that you are still interested in them come spring and they might be convinced you will attend if accepted.

Ehhh ... his stats are not better than mine, and I was accepted OS

Did anyone have to turn in the Institutional Action Statement? I totally bombed one quarter (GPA wise) at UCLA and I have to submit the IAS to the Dean. Anyone else have to do that? If so, who did you ask? I graduated 6 years ago and I've called UCLA counselors to no avail. Thanks.

Interesting. Well I'm sure the above approach is not uniformly applied, but I have heard repeatedly that schools will try not to accept people who they do not think will attend. I could very well be wrong. Perhaps you were more convincing in your enthusiasm for Temple? Everything is very speculative in trying to understand this process though...

I'm not even sure this school rejects at this point. What you're saying sort of makes sense; but what's even more likely is that your interviewer didn't think that highly of you, and recommended you for the waitlist. Or maybe your activities are not in line with what's expected for this school. I actually liked the school and was thinking of maybe attending them. I know that if they take me off the waitlist I'm a lot less likely to go there and I'm sure there are others that think like that.

Who knows why I didn't get in. But I would have thought that they might turn down out-of state students with really high stats, not in-state students.
In 2007, 86% of in-state aplicants interviewed at temple got accepted. It just really sucks to be part of that 14%!

I was wondering this myself. My guess is that they just sent us the acceptance emails as a courtesy so we'd know we got in, but we'll receive an official snail-mail acceptance sometime soon that will have all the info on the deposit, etc. Not sure, but this is what I'm assuming.

Keep in mind though, that the stat of 86% IS accepted includes those who were accepted off the waitlist as well. So you still might be part of the 86%. :xf:

I interviewed on 9/30 and I still haven't heard back. Still hoping for the best because I love Temple and would attend it in a heartbeat! Everyone seems to love it there. Hopefully we get to hear back from them this week 🙂 Best of luck!

ACCEPTED!
3.6 34R OOS
Out of 6 places that i interviewed at so far Temple was by far the best in terms of interview conversation, the new building, enthusiasm of students, and overall attractiveness of the school as a whole.
Very excited to be going here!
