Would the person who got the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee invite mine PMing me with their POI?? I feel like I've been waiting for ages for them to get back to us!

Thanks : )

Is anyone else on the waitlist for Washington State University's Adult Clinical program? If so, I would really appreciate if you would PM me with your person of interest at the program. Just trying to estimate my chances. Thanks!

Just an FYI: You do have a right to ask where you are on the waitlist--and what your chances are for admission into the program based on your placement (ie, in a normal year, would a person in your position on the waitlist be granted admission into the program).

Could the person that got the UNL clin psych offer please pm me there POI and maybe how they received their acceptance?

Thanks and congrats

Hi! Can the lucky person(s) who received an offer from Emory please PM me with your POI?

For the love of all that is holy will the person who got the USF invite please PM me!??!!? I am in Agony! I thought they weren't sending out notices till the end of this week. Take pity!

I'm not the USF invitee. . . . I just had to say that your post made me laugh. I was expecting another basic "please PM me" post, and yours had flair!!!!! 🙂

[QUOTEI think in general Yeshiva interviews a lot of people... I interviewed for the clinical phD program which as about 10-12 slots I think and there were like 12 people on my day, and we were told there were going to be 6 interview days total...I really want to find out already though!/QUOTE]

I'm dying to hear too. I read somewhere that they take a while to get back to people. I'm thinking we probably won't hear anything until mid March.

I second that!!!! Exactly what I'm feeling, but didn't have the guts to say!

For clarification's sake: I have no issue with the "please PM me" emails. I understand that everyone is anxious, and the PM is a quick way to find out information. (I think I have done that myself a couple times.)

I was just pleasantly surprised by the creative PM me email. It made me smile. 🙂

haha my desperation has taken hold of my key board. a faculty member said we would probably hear by the end of the week but that was on monday and i am dangerously close to calling the DCT and hanging up like a desperate teenager with a crush in the movies....

Did you happen to be an English major or minor? You have a very distinct writing style.

Ha Ha. I'm going to call the DCT except for she's out of town this week (yes, during interview season and while people are waiting to hear back for about a month now). URG!

First laugh I've had in a while-so thanks!!

interesting question, but no. online i'm just over dramatic and never proofread 🙂 on that note, if i don't get into USF the current students will see someone pulled up on the lawn wearing a trench coat and holding a boom box with 80's love ballads blasting away......

that would be seriously awesome. I loved that movie.

Hi, I received a letter from WSU stating that I would not be invited for an interview, but my application is "highly rated" and should hold tight because I still might be admitted. I have applied to work with Dr. Kwon.

If either the Drexel or the UNL person wouldn't mind emailing me their POI I'd love to hear it....

Did you also apply to John Jay-being that your a forensic psych emphasis? Have you heard anything? We who are waiting would really appreciate any info.

Good luck.

Does anyone know if Loyola University Maryland is sending out any more admissions emails? I've looked at gradcafe and noticed that they have two posts of people getting admission emails on the 23rd, but I don't know if LUM has already sent out all of their admissions emails. Either way, please let me know.

Hi everyone! Will the person who received an acceptance to the university of Utah please pm me your poi if you feel comfortable? It is my top choice and now i'm really nervous! Also does anyone know if all invites have gone out or how? Phone call, email, etc? Thanks!!

I interviewed six weeks ago and still haven't heard a thing.

I just called the admissions office at City. The admissions coordinator said that notifications will begin this week and continue for the next couple of weeks.

I interviewed at Loyola Maryland PsyD in Clinical Psychology on 2/19 and heard back on 2/23. I was one of the students who interviewed for the 1-2 spots in the second year and they offered me admissions!!! I would have been happy starting as a first year as well, because I didn't mind taking some refresher courses from my Masters. I loved the program/PEOPLE/interview day, at the same time I loved the same things at another school!!! The professors and Grad students were all very nice and caring people. They offered me admissions via e-mail and a few documents were attached to the email.

I know there were about 330+ applications, 60 interviews, 10-12 spots in the 1st year, and 1-2 spots for 2nd year students. Now I am just "patiently" waiting for the decisions from my other interview and have one coming up on 2/26 :X

I found out awhile ago, but I just want to share in everyone's else enjoyment!

I was accepted to Texas A&M for School Psychology PhD, denied to UT Austin, but waitlisted for counseling in their education department.

I just confirmed A&M because school psych is what I really wanted.

Congrats on the acceptance! I just got accepted to Loyola as a first year and I am considering a few other places too. I liked Loyola but had some reservations. There are other schools I really like too. Where else are you considering???

Congrats on your acceptance to Loyola! I am considering that program as well. I was extremely impressed with pretty much everything on interview day. Please do tell though.....what are your reservations??

Are you going the orientation at A&M tomorrow? If so, I'll see you there!

This is incredibly exciting. We have so many school psych. people on the forum right now--Yeah!!!!

I was accepted into a school psych. program as well. I won't be giving out the name because I like having anonymity on this forum (but it is listed on the acceptance/waitlist thread).

I got an e-mail yesterday 2/24 (from the DCT at MSU) saying "I am writing to check in and let you know that you ranked highly among those we interviewed. We remain very interested in your candidacy and I will continue to send you updates on your status." etc etc. And this wasn't prompted (i.e., I didn't e-mail them to ask). I can't tell if it's a waitlist e-mail or not though - but I don't know if anyone else has heard.

PS - I got a similar e-mail from my POI (but more personal) from MSU a day or so before that one too. Again, have no idea what it means.

I would contact them and ask. You need clarification about what exactly they mean.

I have been rejected by every school to which I applied. I was not even given an interview to any of the seven who received my application.
I have a combined GRE of 1310, B.S. in Psychology with 3.952 GPA, and research experience. In fact, I recently co-drafted a highly detailed study in which funding and lab space has been guaranteed by a local developmental psych. professor (cell staining/counts, brain dissection, lipid analysis, the works). I have broad research interests in neuropsychology and listed at least 3 POIs per school. I obviously didn't list all of my qualifications in this post like I put in my application such as work and volunteer experience, but I am just not understanding why I didn't even get an interview.
I honestly felt I was qualified for at least an interview. Anyone else experience this?

i'm sorry to hear that! the things you listed in your post sound good, so all i can think is that the schools you applied to were poor fits and/or your essays could be improved in some way. Any concerns about your LOR's? grades and GRE's are awesome but if there isn't a good fit at the outset then it's more not being the right candidate than a matter of being a good candidate.

That's rough. My first thought is how closely aligned are all of the POIs research interests at each school? If you are showing an interest in three POIs, they really need to have similar interests. Otherwise, you may come off looking like you are all over the place research-wise.

I made that mistake on one of my SOPS. I tried to show my interest in three different POIs, and I think it really diluted my statement.

My second thought is what do you want to do with your degree when you're done with the program, and is that in line with what graduates from that program go on to do?

It really is ALL about fit.

Finally, I don't know where you applied. But, did you only apply to what you considered to be the top tier of schools? If so, you want to look into some safety schools as well.

Other than fit, I don't know what else to tell you. It seems to be a crap shoot.

Did you contact the POIs prior to applying? I got interviews at MY top 2 schools. Now, I applied to more competitive programs and higher ranked blah blah blah, but the ones that I wanted the most, I got interviews at. I just pulled up my personal statements. I applied to work with 1 person at one school and 2 at the other- one of whom indicated she was taking someone, and someone else that I REALLY wanted to work with but never heard back from... Maybe you were too broad in your research interests/POIs?

It may possible that you didn't apply to enough schools. Most applicants apply to at least 10. I personally applied to 18 schools... something to think about. PM me if you'd like to know how interviews turned out for me.

HI All,
As of today, I have gotten accepted into PCOM's Psy.D. Clinical program, just completed an interview with Kean University for their Psy.D. in School & Clinical Psych, got rejected from Seton Hall's Counseling program and I am anxiously waiting to hear from Yeshiva's Clinical Health Ph.D. program. Does anyone have any thoughts about these programs and do you think that not hearing from Yeshiva is probably an ominous sign?
I appreciate any help I can get, Thanks!

Will whoever can an acceptance to Drexel please PM me with your POI? Thanks!

I applied to 7 schools. But my research interests are VERY specific, and at some of the schools that I was interested in, the POI wasn't accepting anyone. Also, applications were ridiculously expensive. For that reason alone, if I don't get in this go round, I'll just do a masters in my hometown, where I have a good job, and my fiance has one too. Due to some crappy circumstances this morning, I almost decided not to come to my interview today (2/2, got 4 rejections and 1 waitlist). I know that the fit here isn't right... so I'm going to struggle more in my interviews than I did at my other school. As I was on the plane I cried because I know that I should take care of the responsibilities (debts, mostly), instead of chasing my dream. :-(

Just a guess, but it sounds like you were a victim of personal-statement-read-like-a-resume syndrome. You absolutely will not make it past the first round of admissions without a truly personal personal statement.

FYI, I got that exact same email. I think it might mean they haven't made their admissions decisions yet... but unclear.

for the most part, and especially with big city schools, the acceptance/rejection boards are really up to date so if it's not listed there you're prolly good.

Good luck to you! I completely understand money woes. I only applied to a few schools. I just couldn't afford to apply to more than that. . . . Do the schools to which you applied offer solid funding? I hope so. Having had absolutely crappy jobs for a good part of my life, I know that I have to go after my dream or my spirit will suffer. I hope you can hold out and get you doctorate. : )
