Mine are sent! Verified on the 17th. It is funny how I thought I would be fine if all my transcripts got there, and then I would be fine when I saw all my LOE arriving, and now I thought I would be fine when I knew it was sent; but now I am just starting to worry about possible interviews. I guess there is always something to worry about...

Can't agree more with the confused face...doesn't really seem to be a logical pattern of who's getting mailed out first.

My hope is that this "cycle" is actually a multi-day ordeal and we'll get mailed out tomorrow or the next day in the same cycle. Does anybody know how the 2009 apps were handled?
 
I am not a reapplicant and mine was sent out, so I'm not sure what the order is or how they are deciding it. i would have assumed it was just based on when they got verified, but it doesn't seem to be that way.

I know that it isn't the end of the world that my application wasn't sent in the first batch, but it's pretty upsetting.

I was verified on the 29th. Under "My app status," I clicked Dental school designations and it says mailing date: 6/29/09

But it doesnt say anything under mailing status.

I cannot possibly understand their system..
if they recommend to submit early and then not send those applications of early applicants, where are the advantages for those early applicants? Some may say it's just a week difference, but come on..we all are desparate to get this mailed out asap..

what should we do for those who submitted and verifed early like myself?
do we just sit and wait? without thinking it isn't fair?
 
do you think ds take it into consideration? I'm sure your app has your submitted date on it, also *most schools out of the 11 I am applying to say they don't look at a single application until august...

doc u are good to go..my mailing status is blank also.
 
I spoke to AADSAS today and they said they are allowed to send 1000 application on firt round. and I said i did have it early and she did not give me any reason why mine was not send out early..I don't understand.

I also spoke to AADSAS, and a representative told me: "We only sent out the first 1000 applications submitted. So, if yours was not sent out, it will be sent sometime in the next two weeks."

-With so many of our colleagues getting verified and sent in the last couple days, this sounds like a fallacy to me...

I'm so maaad. i just hung up..cause she did not make sense at all. my transcripts were in June 10. that' just not right
 
"1000 applications". So what, are they running a lotto system now to decide who gets mailed out first? Perhaps they picked randomly.

that i dont know. and she said oh the school will see when you submitted your application. i dont think they will put them in order.
 
I think the person I spoke to is full of ****, or totally confused haha

We have not sent out our first mailing yet. Our first mailing will be sent out over the next week or two. When we mail your application we will update the status in your account. The schools have access to your application electronically.

Riiiiiight. Someone there is smoking something. Big time.
 
I just got off the phone with them. They said, "due to the large number of applicants we had to cut off the first mailing and your application will be sent in the next week or two in the next mailing."

I asked her what criteria they used to decide who was mailed out first and she started telling me that my application was only verified the 26th (even though they sent me the email saying it was verified the 25th). I think she was trying to imply that my application was late in verification and earlier applicants were mailed first. I also noted what happened is not what they promised: the email I received when I was verified explicitly said I would be mailed at at the next mailing.

I told her I heard from number of sources that applications verified at a later date were mailed in the first mailing, including some that were verified that very same day. She started getting noticeable agitated at this point saying, "I can't tell you if anyone was sent out at a later date, I can just tell you that your application was and will not be sent out this mailing and will be sent out in a week or two"

My guess is that the applications were just randomly (or at least by some critieria that had nothing to do with when submitted / when verified) sent out, they hit the max and just stopped. Horrible way to handle the first mailing.

Oh well, I'm sure it won't be too big a deal in the long run.

I think if we have been verified, then it wont make much difference (if any?) if we get mailed out next week.
 
This is all so weird...I mean, I am glad mine was mailed, but I really feel for the people who were also verified weeks ago and didn't get theirs mailed! I don't understand how that happens, and yet many people on here who say they weren't verified until yesterday got theirs mailed. AADSAS has no rhyme or reason!
 
WTF? Mine was verified the 15th and I didn't get included in the first mailing. I called and the lady said she had no idea why mine wasn't sent out and should be out in the next 2 weeks. Awesome customer service for $1500...
 
Where does it say that it's "verified"? Do we just know that it's verified once our GPA calculations are in? And for those that have everything done -- how long between transcript received and verification roughly?
 
Also, I know I read it somewhere on the forums but I can't find it anymore -- I know that the applications will still get mailed out if our LORs aren't all there yet but when the schools receive the application, will they look at our application at all if they don't have our LORs?

You get an email that says verification is complete. Once you submit the app...the length of time will vary depending on how busy they are.
 
i spoke with the AADSAS today. they told me the same thing: the first 1000 apps were mailed out yesterday, they were chosen randomly, and the next 'shipment' is within a week or two. i was verified on the 15th but nothing was mailed out yet.
 
All of our "submit as early as possible" endeavors, which included stressing out, running around, losing neurons came to a random drawing.. how sad.

Yeah, this is unacceptable. Some needs to rain hell on AADSAS.

wow, obviously AADSAS could have done a better job but people really need to chill; having your application sent in on the second mailing won't keep you from getting into d-school; if you've completed your application, and all the stuff is in then you are still WAY ahead of the game...now if you submitted your app on jun 15th and they sent it to the school in august then you have a reason to be pissed...remember that people on SDN do not represent the average pre-dental applicant

all of you need to take a gigantic CHILL PILL.

there are people from last cycle who didn't have their stuff mailed out til August/September and were still fine, got interviews and acceptances, and lived happily ever after. everything will work out.

Not people with a sub-3.0 GPA. I busted my ass to make sure I was in the first mailing because I'm already well below the criteria for every school, and then I don't make the first batch because of a random lotto drawing? BS.

I hope LeBron leaves Cleveland next summer. Then I'm gonna email you the picture of that chill pill.

This is not the way to do things, especially when people are paying big bucks for the services and when they feel this time of year is one of the most important ones of their life.

I submitted mine June 12th and was verified the 18th and mine has not been mailed either. 🙁
 
You guys need to calm down, being in the first or second mailing will not keep you out of D-school......especially if you are applying to the top schools which tend to interview later (Harvard, Columbia, UCLA, etc).
 
I meant that students here tend to be more on top of their things (in addition to having very good stats) so people tend to think that this is the average pre-dental student...listen, the point is that your chances will not decrease (even with horrible stats) if your application is sent out on July 10th as opposed to June 30th.

Applying early is important but even if your application doesn't get there until mid July it's still considered VERY early. If you are rejected from all d-schools it won't be because your application was sent out on the 2nd or 3rd batch as opposed to the first batch. Like I said, AADSAS could've done a better job but this is not something you have to worry about...just make sure your application gets sent with the next couple of shipments.
 
The first batch is probably gonna sit there on a desk or somewhere! the schools are not gonna start reviewing the applications until mid-july; when they've received a few batches at least! so if we get mailed by then it should be ok i guess!

Yup..mine is blank...I'm assuming it will say Received when it gets there.
 
Does anyone know if they have a cutoff for the number of apps they send out in the second batch? Mine was just verified today and I'm curious as to whether or not I'll get mailed out or it's just a chance I'll get mailed out in their next batch.
 
I feel like AADSAS customer service is always confused!

Verified - 7/1 (that was fast..i was hoping itd be longer! I dont have money for secondaries yet!! 🙁 )
Send out - Hopefully 7/6

Verified: sometime around 6/15
Sent out: 6/29

Let's just hope we actually get sent out in the next mailing - how wonderful would it be if all the people just e-submitting this week and verified this week get mailed out next batch while people from June still miss-out 😱

If it's random then it's possible this could happen if they're limited to 1000 each batch - by this time, more and more applications are submitted.

Submitted June 15, verified June 19, not mailed yet 😡

It's pretty stupid that they randomly chose applications for mailing instead of doing them in order - but this doesn't suprise me.
