is anybody applying to minneosta dental school....i havea doubt regarding the requirments....it says copies of official tranzcripts....what does this mean....does it mean a xeroz of it or a duplicate copy from the universty.
if it is a duplicate from the university then i will hav to go to home country ....so i need to decide on this...hav been tryin to reach the university....both i guessshe goin to back only next monday....if anybody has any info on this do lemme know...

get some US experience, voluntary work and make more presentations if u can. If u can publish a article, that will help too..
for UCSF, focus on your hand-skills. getting an IV is tough, but if u get the IV hand skills play a major role.
UPenn generally prefers people who have had extensive US exp (a second degree etc) but, do apply - u never know!

Yes they have clearly mentioned that they only want photocopies(xerox) of everything.EVEN THE ECE REPOTS, TOEFL AND NDBE SCORES...they do not want official scores of anything. They said if u get the IV you have to carry the originals to authenticate the copies. I have done the same and rcvd confirmation that my application is complete. hope this helps

Thanx Ash. I do not know if I can be of great help as bombayBDS but I know the pain some of us are going through now. I have just come out of it. There are still worries regarding loans etc. but a major worry is over and I know you have it in you too. I am sure You'll hear good news from UOC. God forbid if not...you can always try again.. and this time with a stronger application.

the usual - good SOP, LORs, Volunteering, and , in your case, apply to as many schools as possible.

I think you have to be a citizen or permanent resident to apply. As long as you have that you have a good chance.

I am a permanent resident in the US, but the problem is I can't apply to any other choices rather than UIC .. I have husband and family and I should stay with them...

Hey everyone, this is my first post here, and I would like to see what do you guys think about my chances.

I've applied only to UIC last year, but didn't even make the IV...

I have a specialty degree in Orthodontics, with a 3.94 GPA, which is in my ECE report, do they take this in consideration?
I'm taking the part 2 in a few weeks, can a good score help me in my applications? What would be a good score?

I saw some people here posting their experience in dentistry, how helpful is that for the applications, are there any schools that look for more experienced international dentists?

I graduated in 2002, and got my specialty degree in 2005. I've done a lot of volunteer work. Don't have any publications in important journals. I have several presentations in scientific meetings back in my home country. Here in the US I've been assisting for almost 2 years now.

Any thoughts?

no, for me it was too easy kinds...though the result didnt show up much as i expected but yes, i had trouble with the clinical testlets. rest i think i hardly made any mistake but anyways, im happy with it now and want to improve on my overall profile.

Everyone has his/her own strength and your scores point out that u can go on to accomplish these things later.

I just wanted to say only one thing to every one. please work hard on Bench test for the admission because they do consider a lot before selecting candidates now a days as NBDE part 1 is becoming second main choice than the hand skills. They are aware of the changing rules for the Part 1 and all. So work hard in your spare time to improve your hand skills. Specially if your Part 1 score is low, do not get discouraged just show them in the bench test that your hand skills are better

Unfortunately I am accepted in different school but I have practiced a lot for bench test so please feel free to ask me any question or suggestion. PM me anytime
