So on the admissions website it says:
"REQUIREMENTS:
One year, including laboratory instruction, of each of the following:
Biological Sciences
General Chemistry
Organic Chemistry
Physics
There are acceptable alternatives to the traditional one year organic chemistry sequence, e.g. one semester of Biochemistry can substitute for the second semester of Organic Chemistry."

I have one acceleration General Chemistry credit from high school (but not sure if that counts?), one semester of General Chemistry (with lab), and then one semester of Biochemistry (with lab). Does this fulfill the requirement for Gen Chem?
I was unclear because the only "acceptable alternative" they gave on the website was for Biochem to replace 2nd semester Orgo...
Thanks!

Hey I was wondering about this too but for the math requirement. The admissions requirements say you need one year of college-level math, would AP Calculus credits count for this?

Thanks!

Hey guys,

I have an interview on Oct 24th with Albert Einstein. I have the morning interview and will be heading towards LGA afterwards (I believe they said that morning interview ends at 2pm). My flight is at 5:30ish....I was wondering if anyone wanted to split some cab fees to the airport!

Thanks!

I'm there on the 24th too! I haven't booked by flights yet though and I have an afternoon interview. when are you coming in?

Hey guys! I'm a 2nd year at Einstein, just wanted to check in and say hope everyone who is interviewing at Einstein is enjoying their time here and good luck to everyone with future interviews.

Feel free to shoot a PM if you have any questions about the school. Sorry I've been delayed at getting back with questions - second year is a little busy- but ill definitely try to be more timely with my responses. 🙂

I was the girl with the short hair and yellow shirt. 🙂

Interview was fine - very laid-back and casual!

Oh, cool. I think I held a door for you lol. I had a burgundy striped tie, short blond hair.

The interview was good here too. They paired me, I think intentionally, with an interviewer whose academic interests were very, very similar to my own, so we had a fun, informative interview. The student guides were enthusiastic and gave me an excellent impression of the school. Beautiful facilities too.

I'm glad you liked it =) good luck!! :luck:

Is it possible to find out if your AECOM application is complete? I submitted the secondary on 8/25 but have not received a complete notification.

I got an email on the same day I submitted - you might want to check your spam folder or email/call them to ask.

Anybody have a morning interview and travel from anywhere in North Jersey? I just wanted to know how bad traffic gets so I have an idea of when I should leave for my interview.

I know the area around there has pretty bad traffic (Around AECOM)

i had a morning interview and drove from north jersey, by taking the GWB and Cross Bronx Expressway. i left around 7:20, and AECOM said to be there by 9am. there was heavy traffic, but not bumper to bumper. i got to AECOM around 8:30, but then had some trouble finding parking. finally got into the admissions office around 8:50. check Google Maps traffic before you leave.

Hm...then maybe i'll leave around 7:00 then because I know i'll end up getting lost even with my GPS. Thanks!

Does anybody know what the earliest dates of acceptances (or rejections) were last year?

Interview invite this morning and my first one at that...I am sooooo grateful to God!

Wishing e'one else all the best!

complete Aug 27th

Where should we/I send to? Snail mail to admissions office?

They're fined with emailing the admissions office. Make sure to send an attachment too for easy download. I think Einstein prefers .doc files. I might double check in that though.

I was complete here August 12th, still haven't heard anything. Has anyone else been complete since August 12th (or prior to that) and has heard nothing after receiving the complete email?

Yup. I typically sent all update letters, letters of interest, etc. as a PDF via email to admissions offices, but in the case of Einstein, they requested a word doc or for it to be in the body of an email.

Not sure about preference for email vs. snail mail. I would think email, but it wouldn't hurt to call admissions and ask what they want.

7/29 and nothing. :luck:

For reference,
I submitted July 23rd, Complete August 4th, Interview invite August 16th, Interview date Oct 17th
I'm a reapplicant for what its worth and did not get an interview last time I applied.
3.9 ugrad and masters 34 MCAT

I'm such an idiot...here I am thinking that I've been complete for over a month at Einstein only to find out that getting a payment confirmation is not the same as submitting the secondary🙁 You have to go back to the application and certify your application to submit. A really dumb mistake, but hopefully it's not too late in the cycle for me.

good luck to you guys!

so question: what kind of thing constitutes a big enough thing to write an update email (other than publication acceptance). like i have a paper that came back with editor revisions and i'm resubmitting that and it most likely will get accepted and i'm working on four abstracts for conferences right now that i had never mentioned before. is that worth writing an update letter for? or is that considered minutia? i'm just trying to get a barometer of what's worth sending and what's not. thanks all.

I would say more updates is better than fewer. If you only were resubmitting I would hold off, but with everything else it seems like a pretty significant update.

Well, obviously a more significant update would be that your manuscript and abstracts have been accepted, but it is really your call. This has been the subject of a lot of debate on this board; do a search and you'll see. It seems like there are two schools of thought--one being that "insignificant" updates are kind of pointless, and one that anything can help for several reasons (assuming it's a well-written letter).

I fall in the latter category. Personally, I don't see the point in withholding any information that might help your case. I was a bit over-conservative in what I included in my primary app, and I regretted that. If nothing else, it shows that you are still interested, haven't become complacent with your premed-y stuff, and might get the committee to dig your file up. My updates were never very big, just stuff that I thought was important but occurred after my primary was submitted--new research, new volunteer position, etc. If you don't feel that it's enough to warrant its own letter, you might consider including some stuff about why you're interested in coming here, etc. It's up to you. I'm definitely not an expert, but I don't feel like it can hurt unless it's a poorly written letter. Good luck.

Interview invite. 🙂 Complete 8/16, OOS, 3.7/33O. Really excited for this one! 😀 Haven't scheduled it yet but I'm hoping I can have it around the same date as my other NYC interview.

+1! Very excited as well. This is the first one in NYC that I have heard back from, so I guess I will try to schedule it soon.

What's the soonest they're letting you schedule? I'm wondering how backed up they are.

You email them dates that you would like in 4-6 weeks.

I received my invite in early September, and they wanted me to schedule it for mid to late November. Just wondering if they were pushed back past December at this point.

Oh, I scheduled for early November.

what is your guys' opinions?

Should I apply to this school? Or is it too late? 😛

If you really want to go here I'd give it a shot - it is getting "later" but definitely not impossible... stats for the class are usually around 3.7/32.5 - the more above average the better when applying later.

Well I have a 3.5/32Q with a downward trend...(which I have a reason for)

After interviewing at a school in NY, I fell in love with NY and the option of endless opportunities there.

the secondary is $120?

If so, I don't think I am gonna apply 🙁

Interviewed today, very relaxed staff, and were incredibly helpful in getting me situated after the interview.

Interview was very conversational. Also, there isn't any real structure to the day, they pretty much let you take care of yourself and have everyone meet up for a quick tour and lunch around 12 (which was really nice!).

Hope this helps someone! Good luck to everyone!

Good to know! Did you have a morning interview or an afternoon one?
