My status update says:

"Thank you for visiting campus during your interview. We hope you had an enjoyable trip to Omaha and Creighton. Your application is ready for final review from the Committee on Admissions. The final review process usually takes 4-6 weeks. We will contact you immediately when a decision has been made. As always, please feel free to contact the Office of Medical Admissions if you have any questions."

I also got this last night:
"The Committee on Admissions for the Creighton University School of Medicine has completed its review of your application for admission. After a thorough examination of your credentials, the Committee has found it necessary to decline your application.
We understand that you may experience disappointment upon hearing this news. However, the large number of applicants, and their achievements, along with the limited size of the class have made this action necessary.
Thank you for your interest in seeking entrance into the Creighton University School of Medicine. We regret that our response to your request for admission could not have been favorable. Please note, a formal letter will be forwarded to you shortly.

My best wishes for the successful realization of your professional school goals."

And now my status just says, "Application Submitted On 08/30/2011." Maybe they made their decision?! Is anyone else going to call in and find out? I can't stand it anymore!

Same! I am so stressed!! And it's finals period! Praying and hoping for good news!:xf:

I couldn't wait for the mail, so I just called in and they put me on the Alternate List. Not what I was hoping for, but I'm still optimistic. For those of you who interviewed on 11/4, their decisions are in and you can call and get your decision.
 
Rejected pre-interview 🙁. Actually thought I was a decent fit here.

Just checked and my last status update was 12/8 at 3:48pm....PLEASE PLEASE LET THIS MEAN I GET AN INTERVIEW AS WELL!!!
 
Any other 11/4 interviewees still waiting for the Creighton call/email? It sounds like people are getting the calls/emails from that date. Still waiting here....

I interviewed that weekend as well and haven't heard anything. I think someone posted that if you want to know, you can call. I think I'm just going to wait. What's a couple more days compared to the weeks that we've waited? If I don't hear anything by Friday, maybe I'll call...

Dartmouth, I am sorry to hear about that. I wish you best luck with your other choice schools!

In other news, I am still waiting... Kinda confused though. At the interviews they said 6-8 weeks before we hear, but on my secondary it says 4-6 weeks for them to review. Any reason for the difference? I hope it's more on the end of 4 weeks, should place me right around new years, a perfect time to celebrate or drink away sorrow
 
Do these updates even mean anything? I mean I've been reading up on people's posts and it seems like there is no correlation with updates and interviews

It can both means things and/or it can be a system-wide thing for groups.

Did he say if you'd be getting the email early or late in the week, just curious? I spoke with him about 2 weeks ago and he said I should get an update before christmas, after seeing your post I looked and I to was updated on the 12/8...

Yeah, it changed from "Thanks for interviewing..." to "Application Submitted..." I think that means that they made their decision. When I called on 12/14, she made it sound like they were sending out the letters that day.

My memory is failing me. I believe he might have said some time over the next few weeks. I'm really hoping it's tomorrow!
 
Accepted 😍 😍 😍 I couldn't wait so I called. They told me letters went out 12/10. Interviewed 11/5.

I was updated today. I'm guessing it's because I sent in a letter of interest on Wednesday. Anyone else waiting for an II get updated recently?

I was updated this afternoon as well. For what it's worth, my file had not been updated since Nov. 8th, and I have sent no additional materials in the interim.
 
I was also updated this afternoon. My last update was 12/8 though. And no, no interview invite email this week 🙁 Maybe before Christmas? Pretty please Santa?

Yep. I haven't sent any letters or anything, though. I feel as though the updates must be related to their sorting system. Maybe they're moving us between "maybe", "probably not", "probably yes" types of piles...

On the other hand, I did get an update the day after changing my contact info on the secondary website...

I think they just get bored some days and say, "Let's see what kind of a response we can get on SDN. Those dang kids over-analyze everything."
 
I think i;m going to write an update/letter of interest. last updated on late september. Hopefully I get an II 🙂

oh and congrats on those acceptances

I am waiting for the mail but I can't wait! I interviewed the same day as you! I bet we met!:xf:
 
I have been complete since early September but have not heard anything since then. The last time my status was "updated" was mid September, fwiw. Anyone else in the same boat? Is this lack of activity a bad thing, or is there still a chance I could get an ii?
 
I interviewed 11/12. I called the admissions office to see if they had anything to tell me. They told me that they should have a decision a few days after christmas.
 
I was also updated 12/16. Do you think it's worth the time to call and ask what is going on with one's application?

I had a flight out right after my tour so I did no go to church after 🙁. Do you think you will end up going to Creighton?

For the last time, and to make this clear to everyone else...



Changes in the "Last Updated Date:" have NOTHING to do with your personal application. I have confirmed this with the admission staff personally and it is merely an update to the application system on their end.

I'm waiting to hear decisions from a few schools, but yes, I'm absolutely in love with Creighton and will probably end up going there in the end. You?

When I called, she told me it may be when an update was made to your application, you were changed to complete, a system update, or when someone takes a look at your file. So it may be best to think of it as meaningless, but that's not necessarily true.
 
I spoke to the adcom about my app last thudrday and they said it was their goal to rereview all the applications put on preinterview hold before december was out to determine who would receive interview. If you have an update that means that your app was accessed in some way so my guess is that you have been rereviewed, and if you haven't been rejected post update I'd imagine thats good?

Yes to both. I believe some people a few posts up were rejected preinterview. The hold isn't something they tell you. He said that when they review applications they will decide to interview, reject, or put aside to look at next time they review applications.
