interviewed here on 10/5. My status just changed to "file will be sent to committee shortly."
I guess patience is a virtue during this process

yay for waking up at 6 tomorrow to drive 60 miles to phillie.

this was probably addressed earlier but if my status changed on monday to "with a member of the committee", should i hear by christmas?

lovedocta07, the faculty and student interviews were very conversational and the essay was really straightforward!

Nice, how was the faculty/student interviewer?
Also how was the day scheduled? Was the essay hard?

Thnks!
Both were pretty straightforward

Essay was easy as well... They gave ~ 30 mins for that

Day's schedule depends where and what time your faculty interview is scheduled

it really feels as if they will never ACTUALLY review my application been "your application is complete and will be reviewed" forever now.

pretty discouraging.

That has been my online status since September too and I randomly get an e-mail this week telling me my file is complete and will be reviewed. I hope this is a good sign :xf:

Looks like people have gotten II without this complete e-mail, but I'd like to think it's a good sign for the both of us.

I just got the same email...and I submitted the secondary early September. I bet it's not a good sign 🙁

I'll send out my positive energy to all three of us then.
:poke::poke: I really don't think the e-mail means much, so let's not get too down about it. At least it wasn't a rejection

I didn't get a complete email, but I have been checking my status and today it changed to a pre-interview hold (your file has been reviewed....). I submitted Sept 17.

randomly checked by status at drexel online a few days ago.. saw that I had an interview invitation. Today I just recieved "complete" email. drexel's system is all over the place

II 2/7

Um, submitted 9/7 and just got a complete email yesterday at like 10pm.... I wonder if that means I can expect an invite soon?

So people with invites, did you have to find out via the status page? They didn't actually send you an email?

I was sent an II via email. Some people on here seem to find out only by checking their status though.

I got the "complete and will be reviewed" email November 9th after submitting in September... We could be waiting 3 more months.

Got the acceptance packet in the mail a few weeks ago. Interviewed 10/14.

Did you get the acceptance packet on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday?

When I was notified of a final decision on a Tuesday I got the acceptance letter on a Saturday even though I live 20 mins. away from Drexel.

Crazy! I interviewed on the 14 as well! Got the final decision last thursday. Friday they said letters would go out early this week... Although, I don't live 20 mins away- I live in AZ. Awesome.

Anyone get a decision / final decision today? Or will that be tomorrow?? Thanks!

Interviewed today, status changed already to being reviewed by member of the committee. Normal?

I had my status change to "being reviewed by member..." as soon as I completed my interview as well. However, I'm STILL at that status. Its been going on 8 weeks now... Hopefully it'll change after today's meeting.

I just got an email saying my application is now complete and will be reviewed, but I have had the "complete and will be reviewed" status on the decision page since September 8. I'm wondering if this is an "update" telling me I'm still in line to be reviewed, or if it legit took them 3 months to officially mark me complete? Seems like they have a lot of technical hiccups...

I got the complete e-mail last night and I've already interviewed/my file is currently with a member of the committee. It was definitely some sort of glitch in the system...

Accepted via snail mail today😀
Interviewed mid-october
Final Decision end of last week

What area do you live in? I'm in the same boat... II mid Oct., status went to "final" last Thursday.

That's weird my final decision was Friday afternoon last week

Accepted via snail mail today😀
Interviewed mid-october
Final Decision end of last week

Do you know what type of mail it came in? was it regular or priority mail?

Final decision status as of like 2 seconds ago! Ugh now to wait for the mail :scared:

Same here....good luck everyone!

I interviewed early last month at Drexel and am anxiously anticipating a decision--hopefully an acceptance because I love the school!!

Anyway... I vaguely remember my student interviewer mentioning that Drexel administers NMBE Shelf exams to their students in preparation for the Step exams/Boards. Can anyone verify that this is the case? I've heard from other med students that the shelf exams are helpful prior to taking boards...

I got rejected post interview.

I accidentally wrote my essay on the back of the page (which I later learned was in the directions and I had missed it) not sure how much that had to do with it. But yeah, ppl do get rejected post interview.

Final decision status today too....I think I'm going to have the same thing happen to me. I really don't remember seeing a one page limit though. Anyone remember for sure?

Interviewed 12/7 and status changed today to : "Your file is currently under review by a member of the admissions committee and will be sent to committee shortly." Let's do this! 👍

People who interviewed in the first week of October (i.e. R1MD and myself that I know of) still haven't heard back...so you may still have a while yet...

That being said, I have finals next week and the anticipation of this decision alone is preventing me from focusing at all 🙁

I interviewed on 10/5 and finally got a 'final decision' status yesterday. I guess that means either an acceptance or rejection - much better than a wait list IMO. Hope that all of you hear back soon.

So looking at the acceptance letter, it appears the $100 tuition deposit is not refundable. Is that right? Isn't it refundable at most schools? I want to hold my spot to make a decision later about drexel once I hear from other schools, but I dont want to be out the $100 bucks. Whats everyone else doing?

IIRC, the deposit is supposed to be refundable at all MD programs through AAMC. Generally, if you choose to attend it will not be refunded because it's applied to your first bill.

the drexel acceptance letters says: "To reserve your place in the first year class entering in August 2012, we ask that you submit a $100 pre-registration deposit in the form of a cashier's check, certified check or money order in the enclosed envelope. Please make the check payable to 'Drexel University College of Medicine.' The fee will be applied to your tuition upon matriculation and is no longer refundable."

Does this mean no longer refundable (a) upon matriculation or (b) if you don't matriculate?

My status updated to this a few weeks back:

"Your file has been reviewed and will be re-evaluated later in the season for a final decision. "

Does this ever turn into an II or is it just a "hold" pile until rejection?

I assume it's a hold - I got the same thing a bunch of holds this year it's kind of ridiculous

How does the clinical rotation site lottery work?? Does anyone know?

Is it possible to do all 3rd/4th year at Allegheny General Hospital???

(I did not read the entire thread, please refer me to right post if there has been a discussion on this already. thanks)

That's exactly what I was trying to remember.

Ignore previous statement, incorrect.

Can anyone comment on the IFM lectures at Drexel. At my interview they told me that hardly anyone ever went to them and I was just wondering y...is it because people prefer to do them at their own pace? Thanks

Hi everyone!

I'm interviewing Jan 9th and was hoping someone familiar with the area could answer a travel planning question. I want to catch a flight immediately after the interview at 5:10 pm. Feasible? Apparently, interviews end no later that 2:30 so i'm hoping that gives me enough time...

Actually, interviews end at 1:30pm (there's an optional one-hour Q&A session afterward). If you leave then, you should be fine!
