I got a final decision status this afternoon. Interviewed 1/9, with the committee on 2/7.

Have you tried calling them?? When I called, they were able to see that there was a problem and fix it. The next day my status changed and my application started moving through the system like it should have been before, so who knows what the hold up was, but my phone call seemed to get the ball moving. did you get that FAFSA email? Nothing in the mail here in western PA yet final decision last friday too
I didn't. I wouldn't read too much into that though because there seem to be plenty of accepted applicants who never got that email. Per the office, letters were sent out yesterday morning, so it may take a bit longer to reach some.
Accepted today. Interviewed on 11/17. It has been a long 16 weeks!

Thanks for your tip! I finally called them this morning and my status changed to "with adcom" this afternoon. The woman who picked up my phone call was very helpful and courteous once she realized that I wasn't hounding her for what my decision may have been.
Yay! I'm glad to hear that! Like I said before, they've been incredibly helpful every time I called, so I'm glad you had a similar experience. Hopefully things will now move very quickly for you. If it's anything like what happened to me, maybe you'll get a "final decision" by this Friday!

Thanks guys, now I just have to make the tough decision and choose between Drexel and another school.
Congrats! I'm in the same boat as you. Any ideas when financial aid packages are sent out?
Do you have to bring anything such as signed papers to the interview?

I've heard Drexel "forgetting" to reject an applicant.

Probably starting Aug 6, with orientation the week before, but they haven't posted the schedule yet afaik.
Just got mine via snail mail, 2K perkins (Max), 0 Sub Stafford (No longer available for prof/grad stud), 40.7K Unsub Stafford, No scholarships. This left 28.4K that needs to be covered by Grad Plus loans or some other means.

I'm in a similiar boat here, and they were not happy when I called to ask them about it.

I had that hold status for a few months, sent a letter of interest, and then received an interview invitation shortly after. I think they actually re-review everyone with that status when they choose interviewees. It's not a definitive rejection.

I hope that is the case. I sent an update letter after that too, but wasn't offered an interview after that. The wait is killing me slowly.

Edit: On my financial aid form that came in the packet, it gives me actual monetary values for the two different Stafford loans.. I submitted my FAFSA two months ago, so does anyone know if this is the aid they're going to offer me? Or will they send something else? Thanks!

Congrats on the acceptance!!! Did you mean the two values for PIL and IFM? Apparently tuition for M1 year is different for PIL and IFM (PIL is 2k more) which might explain the different Stafford Loan values.
Thank you! Hmm... Yes, I see the different values for PIL and IFM, but the numbers they have are in the low 30's and tuition is much more than that (as per their financial aid website). Also, like I said before, I see a monetary value in the "subsidized Stafford loan" area. This doesn't make sense to me though because I thought grad students were inedible for this type of loan. I guess I'll call the school sometime this week and ask.

anyone know when the next drexel med committee meeting is?
The adcom usually meets on Thursday and updates are made on Friday if a decision is made.
Anyone know if they r still handing out interview invites? I'm dyin here...
Wondering this myself, currently in the "re-review" boat. Perhaps you should update them on your declining health status. Be sure to make it eloquent, because a posthumous MD is not very practical, or useful for that matter.
P.S. Sorry for the satire, just trying to make the best of this limbo period.
Go ahead and fill out your FAFSA. Select the school (s) you think you will matriculate in (this could include Drexel). When the fog clears out, you can then streamline (if necessary) your selection to just one school (the one you finally decide to attend)
sorry, what I meant was, it seems like in this thread people have been talking about a connection between getting a final decision status on their drexel page then an email about the FAFSA a bit later and then getting an acceptance. I'm just wondering if someone could let me know who that FAFSA email is from and what it says. thanks
Are the only updates as follows?
- you have been offered an interview
- interview has been scheduled
- file is with committee member and will be reviewed by committee soon
- final decision has been made
Currently I'm at "file is with committee member" and I'm wondering how much more life this process is going to suck outta me. Hopefully the next status update I get will be "final decision has been made"
Unfortunately, there's a "under review with the admissions committee" update after the "file is with committee member" status...I know since I just changed from one to the other. Just more waiting for another status change!
