Been complete since 8/20 and just got the "Your file is complete and will be reviewed" message. I think it might mean our file is before the committee because I know I was complete a long time ago per a phone call.

Yowza, I've had that "complete and will be reviewed" status since 9/7. I should probably be worried 🙁

Better than the "we've looked at your file and will look at it again later if we get around to it" status!

complete since 8/29.. got "Your file is complete and will be reviewed. " today

I called and they said my letter went out "mid-week." So it's reasonable to expect a few days delay between getting the "decision" status and a letter actually going out.

Would it be unreasonable to think that, at this stage in the cycle, they would be giving out relatively few rejections to those that have interviewed as opposed to simply waitlisting them?

You got accepted. Unless the interviewer found you something fundamentally wrong with you, which I doubt.

I would say that waitlist decisions are more common than straight-up rejections. Since Drexel has ~260 students per class, they might need to keep some applicants around for May 15th and beyond. It doesn't hurt them to keep hundreds on the list, but it will hurt if they don't have enough to fill their class, if needed.

Interviewed 10/07 and just got the committee review status change today. How long did it take to get a final decision status ?

Ahhh, interviewed 10/5 and still waiting for it to change.

Shin, I think people said about a week? Good luck!!

My file has been sitting with committee for a week now.

The AdCom meets Thursday afternoon, if I'm not mistaken. A status change follows on Friday or the following Monday. The decision is mailed out that Tuesday/Wednesday...?

Finally "under review by admissions committee", interviewed in September.

I've been with the committee since 10/15 (interviewed 10/7) :scared:

At least you're with committee! Interviewed 10/14 and still getting the "your interview has been scheduled..." status. Two Thursday's have come and gone since then... hoping I get a status change this Monday from this last Thursday's meeting?

Anyone else interview from the 14th of any time around there? Status change?

Hey all! Congrats to all who have been accepted, and good luck to those in the process right now! Just a quick question? Is there anybody at this stage of the application cycle who have recieved a "rejection" letter after interviewing? It seems from the SDN posts that Drexel decision letters are slow getting out after the "final" decision status change, so I'm just trying to figure out my odds.
I interviewed 9/27
Status Change to "final decision" on Thursday (10/27)
I'm not expecting the letter probably for another week (MA resident)
Thoughts?

I received the status change to "with committee" a few days ago, but maybe it just depends on who your interviewers were and how soon they were able to write up their evaluation of the interivew/be at the committee meeting etc?

To those accepted, would you mind sharing your stats please? Fanksssss!

Yeah I think this is very likely true!

pretty sure we were the same day, i havent been religiously checking everyday, but mine is "final decision" now.... the stressful wait continues

received the official wait list letter. From decision has been made status.

Letter was marked 10/25/11 and received on 10/29/11 to CA resident. Fast turnaround.

For those who have interviewed, how did the essay part of the interview go? Do you have a certain amount of time? What types of questions should I expect? Thanks! 😀

I second dlouis' questions. Does anyone have any tips or advice for interview day and the essay question(s)?

I believe you had 30 or so minutes to write the essay which was PLENTY of time. It was a pretty simple ethics question where the "correct" answer was obvious (at least for me and the people I spoke with on my interview day).

I actually really did not like the way the interview day was set up because myself and a few other interviewees ended up missing the tour, but our student interviewers gave us a personal tour after 🙂

The interview was relaxed and conversational, they seemed to have a list with a couple of questions but they were expected. Check out interview feedback!

+1 to all of this.
The essay questions seemed to be very straight forward. I finished before many other applicants and second guessed myself thinking that maybe I should go back and write more. I reviewed my answer, and realized that there really wasn't anything else to say without rambling. The 30 minutes allotted almost seemed to be an excessive amount of time for the question asked, and everyone was finished well before the time had expired.

Like NYC I too missed the school tour due to the scheduling of my off-campus interview, however during my student interview the student was kind enough to show me around the campus while we talked. Both the faculty interview and the student interview were relaxed and conversational. The faculty interviews were supposed to be open file, however my interviewer admitted not looking at my file beforehand. Due to this I believe the questions I was asked may have been different than some of the other interviewees. Regardless, it was a pretty laid back day, and Drexel was a very nice school. Best of luck!

Rejected post interview. Guessing my 12 minute faculty interview didn't help

sorry to hear that. Did you get an update on the website before receiving a letter?
Did it feel like your 12 minute interview went well?

If this happens to you, and you feel like for some reason you weren't given a fair shake, that IS something that you can express to the administration (obviously not the faculty member who's interviewing you, but the dean, after the fact.) That said, quick doesn't always mean bad, sometimes it just means that you've gotten through everything the interviewer wanted to address. Use your best judgment.

Invite!! Scheduled for January 10 (woah all the december spots are filled haha)
Submitted 9/2

I had a really pretty student interviewer lol idk why I just felt like saying that out randomly.

Not sure if anyone else had this, but thought I'd throw it out there:

When I was at my interview in mid October, every one of the 16 or so interviewers was "not traditional" in a sense. In that, every one there had already graduated college and was working.

Did anyone else have this? Typical or just a fluke?

there were actually at least 3 non trads in my interview... myself included.

Still no status change from 10/5 interview...this is killing me. Ugh....

How long did it take you guys to go from "your file is under review with a member of the admissions committee..." to a statement regarding a decision/final decision being made? I've had the first status for a while now and just wondering what the turnaround time is!

II today too. Scheduled for 1/11. Submitted 9/7...I think completed same day?

For those of you who were waitlisted and have sent the letter back in: did you get any sort of confirmation from Drexel letting you know that they've received it and that you're on the waitlist? I sent mine in over a week ago; considering I only live 3 hours from Philly, it shouldn't take THIS many days for them to receive it.

interviewed 10/11, status changed to "your file is under review with a member of the admissions committee..." yesterday (11/1)

I was transmitted in Early August and my secondary didn't arrive till Mid September. I finished it the same day and submitted it. Today I just got an email that said I am complete and now under review.

Fairly short and the only essay was about any time spent out of school. However, do realize that at this point you would be applying pretty late, and you may have to wait a few weeks before you receive the secondary.
Also, people who submitted in early September are just getting IIs now so Drexel won't be helping you feel less nervous about interviews anytime soon. 🙁
