Got an Interview Invite today! Georgetown is definitely one of my top schools--DC is such an incredible city and I really love their program!
I am writing to share my successful in the area e-mail experience. I was complete 9/6, sent the e-mail 9/22, didn't receive any direct response to my message, but was invited to interview today. I just wanted to add to what others have said that Georgetown is responsive to these kinds of e-mails. All the best to my fellow applicants!
ahhhh. these interview invitees "complete dates" are getting closer and closer to mine. i'm really hoping for a shot at Georgetown!
may I ask what you included in the letter?
Also, I will be "In the area" on October 26th, is this too late to mention to them?
how do these letters work, anyhow?
Rejected 9/29. Complete 8/29.
everyone interviewing!
So for those who sent "in the area" e-mails, you guys don't necessarily live in the DC area, or anywhere nearby right?
What is the best airport to fly into to get to GU?
Flying into BWI is so much cheaper but I'm guessing it would probably be a hassle to get to campus? Thoughts?

If time is not an object (maybe an extra 1-1.5 hours), you can take the MARC train from BWI to Union Station, where you can connect with the Metro Red Line. The GUTS also runs from Dupont Circle, also on the Red Line. Or you can take the B30 bus from BWI to Greenbelt station, but that means more time spent on the Metro. What is the best airport to fly into to get to GU?

I've been complete at Gtown since 8/9 still haven't heard anything. Is it 'no news is good news?' right now? I saw they sent out a wave of rejections, as well as a few interviews. Anyone in the same boat as me?
hope so...the wait's killing me
Sorry to those rejected today. I wondered if y'all would mind sharing the time you received the email. It would be nice to establish a pattern to this madness- like, do they send rejections/invites out in batches via email, or on certain days of the week, etc...?

Well, the 15th is a Saturday. I can't imagine they would be making calls then.
No news is almost always bad news.
so does georgetown change their status page well before they send out interview emails?

My status never changed.
Did you get an interview email?
I've been super busy with exams as well, but I, too am here to answer questions (after Friday when my virology exam is over. So...much...herpes....) Anyway, again, I'm an M2, and totally willing to answer any questions. Just don't ask me if you will get in, because I can't help you with that.
I'm planning on flying home right after the interview, however, the latest flight out is 550pm and I'm scared I might miss my check in time. Can anyone comment on the travel time to National airport from GU? I know google maps estimates about 17 minutes but I'm scared of the traffic. Thanks in advance
It will probably take more time than that in traffic with DC being DC but your best bet would probably be the Georgetown shuttle to Rosslyn and taking the Blue line to National (like 10 minutes). If you get out of the interview right at 4, you'll probably be okay.
They ask if anyone has an early flight. I had the first interview and was at the airport by 3pm.
