Ha, I'm a 3.95/29 😱. Interviewed in November for NP. We'll just have to wait and see what happens... they probably don't accept many 29 MCAT's. 😕

I have been complete since 10/27... and no word 🙁
Is anyone else on the same boat? And have they stopped sending any interview invites??

Just got an NP interview invite! In other news, I'm having trouble falling asleep... (Complete 9/23)

So if I was complete 10/25 does that mean that they haven't gotten to my app yet for consideration for interview? I was wondering if it would be too soon to send a letter of update..

too soon wouldn't be an issue at this point. send it in and maybe it will help.

nope not too soon, since it's getting late in the admissions/II process. if you are concerned, then I really don't think it could hurt to let them know you're still interested/wanting to let them know what's going on. I interviewed a bit ago, and I remember a lady saying that they like to hear from students. realistically, they're not going to fault you for trying to give them a more complete picture of yourself for consideration for interview/admission.

What kind of email should we send to them? Just showing our interest? What if I don't have any updates?

Just got an NP II email! Same dates as Tranquilo were available.

(4.0/39)

Good Luck Everyone!

Thanks guys. I was complete 10/25 because it took a really long time to get a secondary for whatever reason

Seems these last interview spots are being extended to very high MCATs and GPAs. ~3.9/33 here. Complete 10/31.

Congrats. Did you hear back last night or this morning? Also, were they the same interview dates mentioned above?

Can't you see I don't have a high MCAT? I'm still in the same boat. I was speaking in the context of the ~40s MCAT in the last few posts. I'm still hoping for something positive considering I submitted the secondary 10/31.

Haha consider it wishful thinking! At one point I thought a 35 was a strong MCAT... but definitely not for Harvard this year :-/

The thread hasn't seen any HST news for a while, mm? I suppose that's bad news for us uninvited. :/

Boo! I thought I'd get a free pass from my lucky MCAT.

I kind of gave up a while ago. If I get an II I will be sure to be the most surprised person in the world, but as for now, I have to stop checking my email once 11 pm rolls around (as I have been doing repeatedly for the past couple of days).

is anyone sending a "letter of interest" in the next month or so? Not sure if they have the same kind of Columbia approach here

From following this forum it seems like Harvard is slowly moving chronologically through applications by date of secondary completion. I was complete 10/25 and was wondering if those who have received interview invites most recently could share when they were complete? I want to feel like there is still a chance but as the days go by it's getting harder and harder.

stats: 3.8/38R

From the admissions website:

Applicants selected for interviews will be notified by the middle of January. Offers of acceptance will be made from this group. All applicants will be notified of final decisions by the third week of March, under no circumstances will decision information be released by telephone.

and

Offers of acceptance will be made from the group of applicants selected for interview. Applicants not selected for interview will not receive any further correspondence until final decision notices are sent.

So all hope is lost? Oh well....maybe in another life lol.

The fact that so many users are asking about others stats tells me that they are completely out of touch with the admissions process in general. Especially those who are worried whether their own stats are high enough. seriously what do you expect to hear from those who got interviews? That they have a 5.0 gpa and 55 MCAT ? If numbers were the only determinant than what would be the point of interviews and applications. A computer could just tell you who gets in after plugging in your name and stats.

I have a 3.85 and a 43R, and not a peep from Harvard. So, Oz is right; just having some high numbers won't guarantee anything.

Also I might be bitter.

I hear you, Filius; I've got a Ph.D., a 41R, a 3.97 GPA, and a charming personality, and I got not even a nibble from Hahvahd. Maybe something stinky spilled on my application on its way to the review committee?

What are they feeding you guys up there in canada? 😛

It's mainly moose, of course, but now and then we get some goose. It's a very rhyme-based culture.

Right? Who knows. Maybe we're too handsome?

Too handsome is probably right. 😉 Gorgeous, brilliant people like us just have too many competing options to be trusted to finish medical school, instead of dropping out to become rockstar-astronaut-business tycoon-political messiahs... It's probably a problem they've agonized over as an institution for years.

I felt the urge to like this comment. Perhaps I should make my facebooking and sdn forum stalking mutually exclusive endeavors.

:scared:  How in the name of Sammy Sosa did you guys not get interviews? You guys should start a Filius Weathermax MCAT Prep Company. Get green and make Harvard med weep over not accepting you. Just my thought :corny:

haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. truth. fair enough. pretty blunt, but I've always been able to appreciate that.

I wanna join that. I didn't get a new pathway interview. =(

Deal. You in, Weathermax? Dibs out on the verbal reasoning!

As to lateness, yes -- I applied basically the second last day, or something like that. So, unwise on my part, though I believe I did that on all my apps and not all the schools seemed to mind. In my defense, up here in Canada, there's none of this "rolling admissions" nonsense at any school -- they all do it Harvard style, but even later in the year, so institutions are just starting to send out invites now. All this "apply in July" stuff caught me totally off guard.

In retrospect, though, I don't think I should have listed serial killing as one of the "Most Meaningful" of my AMCAS experiences; apparently you're supposed to bury that somewhere at the bottom of the list, and move more of the hospital volunteering up to the top. Live and learn!

According to last year's thread, acceptances were sent out on March 3rd. Pretty cool that we could be less than a month away from hearing back from hms!

*fingers crossed* :xf:

I wish :/ when I asked the admissions office a few weeks ago they said it would be *late* March, and they emphasized the late part...

Maybe as the time gets a little closer someone can call and get a more accurate date? :xf:

Does anyone know if anymore II's will be sent?
