Do they accept update letters/additional letters of rec before an II? I'm trying to tease out one from them!:xf:

Okay I'll call them tomorrow if I remember and report back. And thanks, I feel you about WUSTL 'loling at my mcat' haha. :laugh:
 
Hi guys,

I submitted my AMCAS around two weeks ago, and haven't gotten any emails from HSM about their secondaries. The deadline is November 1st, so I'm getting a bit worried. WHAT SHALL I DO? :S

Just dropping in to say I had a great time at my interview here...too bad we don't hear back till March!
 
What's the difference between the confirmation email and the complete email? Is this the complete e-mail:

Dear XXXXXXXXXX

Thank you for your interest in Harvard Medical School. The HMS Supplemental On-Line Application has been received.
Questions or concerns can be addressed to [email protected].

I don't think there is a complete email...at least I never got one. Just a status change on the secondary website.

So I forgot to call and ask about sending update letter but I guess it doesn't matter... because I just got an interview invite NP!!!!! 😀😀
 
How bad is it if I just submitted my secondary considering Harvard is non-rolling? Am I at a big disadvantage (not that I'd get in anyways)?
 
Just received an interview invite for HST. Haven't heard back from NP (probably rejected). Been complete since mid August.

I submitted mine 9/22, pretty late compared to other applicants. I think since it is non-rolling we have as decent a shot as anyone else! 😀
 
So, someone was asking before about whether or not everything in his/her application was complete.

I didn't get a "communication status" change, but on the home screen it does have a green check next to: "application file complete". After all the other things i.e. recommendations, secondary app, and fee paid.

I'm pretty sure that means that everything is ok, but I was just a little confused.

If anyone thinks otherwise please let me know

PS everything was submitted on 9/23 a little late, but I hope I still have a chance 🙂!!!!!!!! I think my application is competitive-- hope I get an interview invite!

Applied to both HST and NP. Complete in July/early August.

Received an HST interview today as well. For those curious, I have a modest 3.7gpa and a 35mcat (9 VR). Havent heard back from NP yet but sent an email inquiring about my NP app. status. Probs will get rejected from NP but then again I thought I would get rejected from HST so we shall see 😕. They are receptive to coordinating your interviews if you get invites from both programs.

Just received a 2012 admissions bulletin in the mail today, postmarked Oct 14th. Why was it sent a) so late in the paper application season and b) to me even though I already completed secondary? Is it sent to everyone who put Harvard down on amcas?

I'm pretty sure the secondary asks if you want a physical copy sent by mail.
 
Have any MSTP invites gone out? Anyone know if the MSTP operates on a different timetable in extending invites given their small number of early winter interview dates for MD/PhD applicants?

Complete since 9/2. Applying to the Social Science track.

I have to say, I was def. not expecting an interview here (let alone for HST) but it is an honor just to be able to check out the school. Does anyone know if they have student hosts available? I didn't see any mention of it in the emails but I could also have overlooked it.
 
Seersucker, when you confirm your interview, you will get a student host list from them. Yeah, I never expected an interview invite and certainly won't be holding my breath for an acceptance but it'll be fun to just visit the campus... twice!

I submitted secondary on 10/13 LOL stupid I know 🙁 How do you know when you're complete? Everything was green on my login portal as soon as I submitted.
 
The green ticks are all you're gonna get, Laplace. And the school's non-rolling, so you have as good a chance as any! Good luck!
 
Hey guys... I just got this big package in the mail from Harvard with a booklet and some information about their medical school. No information about an interview or a rejection or anything...

Does every applicant get this? Is this normal?

It means nothing. You are actually the person who requested the pamphlet via the secondary application. 😳
 
First ever post on SDN! 🙂

Guys I will be interviewing at Harvy for NP next Thursday. Anyone also interviewing that day as well? I would love to meet up with some of you. PM me if you want to meet up and I can provide you my cell number.

just received the application packet with the information brochure too... thought it might have been an interview from the size

Hi guys, congrats on the invites! Could you do me a favor and let me know which dates they are offering currently? I was invited earlier but couldn't make their offered dates in October (though I'll be in Boston a good 1-2 weeks for Thanksgiving), so I'm waiting to hear back.

Unfortunately you can't sign up for dates until they release them to you. Like even if you can make one of the November dates, you won't be able to go in November unless other factors fall into place that allow them to give you an invite that month. (Including times that your subcommittee will be meeting, etc.)

Thanks for the info. That would explain why they're waiting to offer later dates to me. I've let them know my availability, but I'll wait patiently.
