Thanks.. I like taking extensive notes whenever I can because it'll be easier for me to look back later/get my friends, family, and SO up-to-speed in case I'm lucky enough to have a big decision to make. I'm glad if it also helps someone else out, though. 🙂
 
Does anyone know how long between receiving your Admissions Bulletin and receiving rejection letters?
I think receiving bulletin today means they are finally looking at my app.
Complete August 5th. Just awaiting rejection.

Love the optimism here - fits really well with your username. I too am wondering when I will be receiving my rejection.
 
Pretty sure Harvard doesn't reject until the spring. What is this admissions bulletin?

It is just a pamphlet they send to inform applicants about their school. It is nicely put together though!

Btw, anyone else interviewing at Harvard on Thursday? 🙂

Hey man yeah I am interviewing this Thursday!! I am flying down from the Maple Leaf Land (i.e Canada). Will arrive Wednesday at around noon. Wanna meet up for dinner on Wednesday or Thursday? PM me and let me know.

I sent one a week or two ago and they replied with an acknowledgment of the email and that they will try to accommodate that request if I am invited for an interview.


Finally got the med school book on Saturday after submitting 2+ months ago...Hopefully that means my app is being looked at now.

Is there a correlation between receiving the book and being reviewed? I thought it was just something you requested.

There would only be a correlation if sending out the booklet was not automated -- i.e. someone has to read your secondary to realize you requested a booklet.
 
hmm it seems that everyone (including myself) just got the booklet in the mail?
i submitted early august (i think)... so perhaps no correlation.
 
I was thinking that even if the booklet process was automated, it would still mean your application was going through and being processed SOMEWHERE, which is a better sign than no word at all? *shrug*

that would be awesome... although, did anyone else receive the booklet way before us? (perhaps those who submitted secondaries in July or something?)
 
Does anyone know if HMS accepts file updates after an interview? If so, in what format? Thank you!
 
Hi, just wanted to ask for those of you who have gotten interview invites: were you informed that your application was "processed" on the Communication Status page on the Secondary Application website prior to getting an II? Or was the only communication you got prior to the II was that your "Secondary Application [was] Received." thank you!
 
NP II today! Secondary submitted 8/14/11.
 
I sent an "In The Area" email the other day. They probably don't give two ****s since they can have anyone they want, but it would be super awesome if they responded.

Hahaha, yeah my friend just interviewed there recently and he said it was like when you walk into a party or bar and you see the hottest girl there. She knows she can have anyone in the room at the drop of a hat.

I've never sent an in the area email before... did you just email the admissions office email address?

Did your friend say how they treated interviewees? Out of curiosity. . .

it seems like the admissions process at harvard is moving slower this year...or at least i'm hoping so that i can keep my dream alive that i'm still in the game for consideration at HMS...sigh...

does anyone have info on how far along the interviews have been booked?...or around what "application complete" dates pple are getting IIs for?

does any one know if they send out II for HST and NP together or separately?
 
Pine1, I got my HST invite first, then enquired about my NP status, and got an NP invite a few days after.

I think he got it earlier but just posted on SDN about it today - according to his MDapps he got it on 10/29. Good luck to all!

Submitted aug 7 for NP, no invitation yet. Losing faith here.... =(
