Chillin at work, listening to Estelle and working on this scholarship fund in setting up for my old high school in Jamaica. Cant let this med school application thing trap me in fear. lol

I am doing well. Sitting at work and instead of putting my data in my lab notebook, i am surfing on SDN lol.

🙂... i just hope ill not be sweatin while waiting or during the interview... (which im praying everyday for as well as acceptance to this very wonderful school) i can tell you admissions do not want to see you sweat!!!

I actually just got home and sat down to prep for the interview, I've had a very long day of classes, and presentations at school...😴

Ok so here's what happened:

Ms. Walk was awesome, she was warm, funny, and very knowledgeable about the admissions process. Interviews started at 9:30, I had one at that time. My interviewer was great. The interview was more conversational and short ( I asked questions most of the time).

I was very impressed with the school. It has exceeded my expectation in more ways than one. The facility was nice, the lecturers were very friendly (the ones I saw) and the students were ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS, they are the best part of the school (i think). The classes were nice (we got to see both first year and second year lecture halls, and even sat in on a first year class).

Overall: IMPRESSED...now I wait to see if I have impressed HUMC 🙂

As for the rest of us, I'm praying for us all. I love this school and this is where I want to go for school. The wait is tough, but I'm praying that we do get that interview and acceptance to HUMC. Anything is possible with the grace of our Lord. 🙂

Im glad you were impressed with HUCM and the students ARE the best part 🙂. the family atmosphere is REAL here and thats the reason why I chose this school. I hope you choose HUCM! You wont regret it...

It was really nice meeting you this morning and I look forward to seeing you again next summer (during orientation) 😀

It is a long process but stay positive! you have the right way of thinking already so I dont need to say much 🙂. Hopefully you will hear back soon. If not, then during the first two months of 2012

I'm so glad that the interview went well for you. I pray that you will get accepted in Jesus Name!! You no longer need to pray about it..its time to thank God and claim it by fire in Jesus Name!!! I hope I will be getting an invite as well....God is with us!!
 
I just wanted to thank each and every person on here for your continuous encouragements and supports. Days when I get depressed and begin to feel discouraged, just reading this forum keeps me in the right mindset. For all of you who have gotten acceptances Congratulations. Those that have been interviewed, the favor of God is upon you and I know you guys will hear good news soon. God did not bring you this far into the game to disappoint you. And for the rest of us who are still waiting for interviews, keep praying and keep trusting. There is a reason for this season. The prayers of a righteous man are powerful and effective. God will see us through very soon. Lets just take the time out to pray for one another and God willing we will be part of the class of 2016 soon. 🙂
 
I just talked to HU Admissions and they said that they are behind on secondary notifications etc. so they said that after interviews this week, they will catch up the next week or so. I know someone said that they are going on break next week so..... I dunno but that is all they are willing to tell....keep praying!

I know what you mean, especially the days feeling depressed too. But faith is powerful. And my Lord He hears our prayers. I will keep on praying for myself and for all of us. And yes, brother, God willing, we will be part of the class of 2016. 🙂

GOOD LUCK SDNers!!! Just hang in there. Its a long process but there is still a lot of time to receive an interview, perform at your best while interviewing, and subsequently get accepted. 🙂. you have all the way until April to get the invite so think positively and hopefully it will come sooner than later

Thanks kaji! We appreciate your words of encouragement.

So I got so bored from not being school (even tho I'm keeping VERY busy lol) that I registered for a Pathophysiology course at a local public college hoping to brush up on my bio (been a while since that MCAT lol) and I guess it should be a good preview for med school? Either way, I'm excited to hit the books again. As crazy as it sounds, life outside the library (and books) can get pretty boring! haha

What are the rest of you doing to keep busy through these adversities? I find it awfully difficult to NOT get depressed over med school applications. I often find myself doing things I didn't do before, like talk on the phone with friends instead of texting lol! Or, catch up with relatives I haven't kept in touch with throughout undergrad. If that ain't crazy, I don't know what is!

Me too! I now call all my close friends almost everyday. It's so nice to have time to talk to them. But that is mostly the extent of my social life since I'm really busy too. So busy that I don't have time to be bored. I wish I did. My life is all 😴 and stress.

Nice! 😴 while you can lol (unless you're excellent at time-management. then, you could 😴 right through med school!
