The little I know is that after 2 years you can apply for the joint program and spend 3 or more years doing the research portion and finish the PhD and go back to do the clinical portions of medical school.

Hey MDPhD22, if you would like for information about the MD/PhD program, try calling the office on Friday from 2-3:30. Their phone number is (202) 806-6279. Also the office will also take calls on Thursday December 29th, and Friday December 30th, from 2-3:30. Hope that helps!

Hey everyone! Anyone got a January interview coming up? I think they mentioned in the email that they are starting to doing January invites. And they are halfway done with the interviews. 😱

Did anyone get an interview after a letter of update of some sort or something? I'm thinking about sending one in about this new research gig I got involved with. But at the same time I don't know if the admissions office will be annoyed with it. decisions, decisions...lol

Congrats BB115!!! I cant wait to meet you next year! 🙂. If I could give you one piece of advise it would be to really enjoy yourself of the next few months. Just relax. If you haven't taken any classes in three yrs then brush up on your biochem (since thats the first thing you will be given next year) and maybe your anatomy since 3/5 of first year is anatomy. You are going to looooove it at HUCM 😀

its my understanding that you have to be accepted for each school separately. I do not think that there is an interview process for the graduate school (Ph.D portion) but you must first get into the medical school and then subsequently accepted to the Ph.D program. GOOD LUCK!!!

Stay strong Sweetness34. there are plenty more interview opportunities in 2012. I didnt get my interview invite until Jan 9th and that was for an interview on the Jan 11th (which I had to decline due to financial reasons).

Just make sure that you're prepared for the interview and any possible questions that they could throw at you. the worst thing you would want is to get there and be unprepared. that will only guarantee you a rejection.

Try to enjoy tonight and focus on med school next week when the admission offices open back up

This forum >>> all other MS forums. Folks here don't care about your stats, they just want you to be the best doc you can be, and we know how hard it is to get into MS, so I believe there's a greater appreciation of the process here.

That's what I love about this forum and this school. It is more than numbers/stats!! And I believe at this school we will be the best doc that we can be!
