Yeah it was the same one. No snail mail today either (I'm in NC).

So I'm aware it is super late in the game, but I just saw that I was put on hold for an interview. Anyone know if they're still responsive to LOIs?

LOI can't hurt… just write one! 🙂

Got the acceptance letter in the mail today. Good luck to everybody still waiting!

I dont mean to be annoying and ask the question... but would anyone be able to give me advice on the interview? I would really appreciate it... What type of questions where asked? How many interviewers do we have? Just a little info so I know what to expect...

thanks so much...

At this point I am trying to decide between Loyola and Rush. I have had amazing experince at both schools during the interview days. In my opinion Loyola's pre clinical curriculum would suit me better and Rush's curriculum is fairly new to the school and it still may be in the experimental stage. However, I think Rush Medical Center would be a better place to be during the M3 and M4 years. Also, Rush seems to have better residency match (i think?) and more in-house residency opportunities. Please, feel free to comment on the above statements and correct me or provide additional comments (these are my opinions and I know they may be not true considering my limited knowledg about thsese schools). For those that had to pick between Rush and Loyola let me know which one you chose and why? also anybody that will be matriculating (or is attending) one of these schools please let me know what were the reasons behind your decisions. Thank you.

P.S. The second look for both schools is on the dame date (April 13) so that does not make it easier

Anyone know If they r still handing out interview invites??

I was on hold for a while, my status said my application would be re-reviewed later in the cycle, I called the Admissions Office this week to check on my status and they told me they would NoT be offering me an interview this year. So if you want some clarification, I would try calling them directly. Best of luck to everyone!

if thats the case, i called yesterday and they said that they are going to review mine and probs others at the end of the month one more time.

when you guys say that you were on hold... do you mean you had the following message on your application status portal?: "Your file has been reviewed by the Committee on Admissions. The review process is continuous from now until the conclusion of our interview season in mid-April. If you are granted an interview, you will be contacted by phone and/or e-mail."

WHAT?!?! This really happened to you?!

Yeah, it was a sad confusing moment to say the least. 🙁
It wasn't in any way Loyola's fault. I think because I am a 708 number the office of this doctor accidentally called my number. I called back all excited, and the receptionist just kind of hung up on me. I guess it was just a random mistake that a maywood located/ loyola alum called me right after I sent a letter of interest lol. I thought maybe they had a rep or interviewer call me or something.

Finally got my letter in the mail from the March 5th Adcom meeting. I was wait-listed. Has anyone else been wait-listed? and is there a priority wait-list, or just one plain wait-list?

I was listed as an alternate.... is this the same thing as the waitlist??

Yeah I was assuming the alternate list is the same as the wait-list.
Does anybody know anything about the chances of being accepted from the alternate list?

Yea that's what mine said. I would call to check on your status if you're interested in any possible decision.

Placed on the hold status about a month ago. Literally arrived at my spring break destination and an hour later I get a call from a 708 area code. Interview invite!! 😀

Anyone see the new US News an World Rankings? Loyola is unranked now...

Interview invite today after being put on hold ("Your file has been reviewed...")! Called the admissions office and apparently 1) they finish interviewing at the end of next week, 2) interview slots were all filled but last minute drops meant a few opened up (though now they are full again), and 3) every interviewed candidate to-date has already been reviewed by the committee and there are still openings in the class, so interviewees this week and next will be interviewing for acceptances, not spots on the waitlist. 👍

Completed late fall, put on hold in January/February (can't remember exactly when), II 3/20/12, no updates or LOIs sent. So happy!

Any idea why that is?

No idea why we didn't send it in. I am actually glad we did not that stuff is really arbitrary. As medical students NIH funding doesn't really impact our lives well, ever. We are a large enough academic center to do really any kind of research you like. Plus, we have these screens everywhere that show on going faculty projects and grants. Seems to be solid turnover with who is on there if that means anything.

All I know is that each time I walk into Stritch I am proud/excited. I hope all you get the chance to have the same experience.

Has anyone received an itinerary for second look day? If so, could you post it?

I know that they are making decisions on a few of you folks today. Good luck to you guys!

Great! If you haven't done so already, I'd advise you to join our facebook group. We have an entire weekend planned for second look!

What if we deleted our facebook for personal reasons but would still like to join everyone for the entire weekend? 😀

Not sure if he'll check this. If you want the details on the events for the weekend and do not have a facebook, feel free to PM me and I'll send them over.
