Oh wow I didn't even know that page existed! I guess it takes a little time before MDapps updates the school's page.

I'm interviewing tomorrow... Feeling some combination of :scared: and 😍
 
Also a pre-interview rejection yesterday. Not surprised! Luck to the rest of you.
 
any word on how much longer they'll be extending IIs? I feel like calling to ask, but I don't want to be a pest.

I haven't heard from them yet either and I'm starting to worry, I feel like calling is just going to annoy them though. Do you know when the last time we can hear about interviews is?

agreed, they told me they send invites til the end of Feb for the last interviews taking place in March

I had my entire application done and submitted by October 1st... so not as quick as you but still so many months of silence.... slowly going crazzzy
 
Are people still able to log into the site to check their status?
 
haha wait never mind. Tried it again and it worked. Man, I think this whole application process is making me hallucinate.

It is making me crazy indeed. I entered the wrong password 5 times. I forgot it was pre-set to my AMCAS ID. It just kept saying the application cycle has passed instead of telling me it was the wrong password. silly me.

Perhaps I've missed something or I am extra dumb today.

I submitted my secondary in 2011 and received an 'application received' email. That's the only correspondence I've experienced from the MSSM office.

Further, there is no status for me to check on my secondary page.

Should I have received a 'complete' email? And where is our status listed on our embark page?

I'm in the same situation, I believe. My last and most recent email from Sinai is an application received email as well--never received a complete email.

When I do log in to check my "status" I see:
"
You submitted this application to Mount Sinai School of Medicine MD Program on X/XX/2011 4:52:00 PM. You can still work on any remaining parts of your application, but the application form itself is no longer available for editing."

I just assumed this was normal...?

Yes yes, that is normal. I don't think there's any way to actually check your status on the website, despite it saying so in their "application received" e-mail. I received a "complete" email, though I think I have read elsewhere in the thread that it is not uncommon to never get a complete e-mail.

Glad I'm not the only one. I too have that message.

A number of people on this thread have mentioned 'checking their status,' which implies there is some change from 'you submitted your application...' in the status message.

I'm starting to feel as though I've missed something...

Thanks for your input.

So it appears people are receiving interview invitations by email, independent of their Embark page, which really never changes. Good to know.

This is the part of the process I hated the most. I am a current second year and i'm pretty sure there are one or two schools that still haven't sent me anything since I finished the app...
 
Was complete in August, but have heard nothing!! Sent in an update letter. Did you guys get e-mail rejections?

I personally haven't gotten one from Mt. Sinai... but a couple of my friends have so they will contact you with either positive or negative information. Don't take the silence as a no, it's probably that your application is sitting at the bottom of some pile somewhere for people to pick over.

Thanks for sharing. Did your friends receive pre-interview rejections or post-interview? I was under the impression that they don't do pre-interview rejections until the end...

NYCmedschoolapp posted a few days ago that she received a pre-interview rejection.
 
Interview Invite this morning!

Complete surprise. I thought that I was out of the running. Complete mid-August. The last email that I received was the 'your application has been submitted' email back in mid-August. Other than that, complete and utter silence from Mount Sinai. Good luck, everyone!

Anyone who interviewed recently...do you remember the date they said in March that all acceptances and rejections go out? The admissions lady gave us a specific date when all the decisions would be released but I forgot it. Anyone?
 
Just received some kind of notification from Embark about the location of the new application. Did anyone else get an e-mail like this?

The only thing they told us (I interviewed last week) was that we should hear back sometime around mid-March. No specific date 🙁
 
Interview Invite today!! Very excited!
They assigned me to 2/16 but I was able to change to 2/29. They said they will be interviewing till some time in March, so don't lose hope!

Oh, one funny thing I forgot to mention is,
I got my interview invitation 20 minutes after I sent an update letter by email.
About 3 months ago, I had asked them by email whether they accept updates and got no replies. I decided to send one today without asking, just as a hail mary. I doubt they actually read my update letter and decided to give me an interview in 20 minutes, but I don't think it would hurt to send them one.

I think they do accept them, but I'm not sure. I sent in an update, and received no confirmation/reply. But about a week later (today!) I got an interview invite! So at least, I don't think it hurt my application and it may have helped.

I am so excited to interview at this amazing school! 😀 Good luck to everyone, I was complete several months ago and just got the invite today–don't give up hope!!
 
Ok, I just sent an update email and got an interview invite after 1 hour. Anyone know if interviews are just for the waitlist at this point? I've been complete since August..
 
Same, I just sent an update letter after seeing these posts and got an interview invite right after.
 
For those who sent in an update and received a same day II, what is your range of stats? I'm curious as to whether an immediate response is going to those with very high stats and/or or significant research experience.
 
3.75 gpa and 33 MCAT
2 summer research jobs and i've been working in a lab since I graduated in May
