Hi, Everyone!

I've completed my secondary on October 5th. I'm praying for an interview and acceptance. This has been my dream school since my sophomore year of undergrad. I've already perused the housing lists and taken a bird's eye view of the apartments via google. I love scientific research and am hoping for an opportunity to participate in meaningful investigations. I'm very excited!!!!:xf:

uh....wow.

No judgments here. Think positive. 👍 I bet Susie Q has great stats, which is why she is so sure.

I've been complete for roughly two months now and have not heard anything from Mount Sinai. Would it be appropriate to send an update letter with recent honors and awards that I have won (along with new activities)? Is Mount Sinai receptive to these types of letters? Thanks 🙂

This is probably a little too late, but it's worth a shot. To all the interviewees for tomorrow, are you all staying with a student in Aron Hall? If so, we should get together tonight and just introduce ourselves and maybe go on a walk around Central Park.

I'm pretty sure I saw one of the interviewees today heading towards the elevators. He was wearing a pinkish tie I think and clutching a MSSM info folder. He was also wearing a yarmulke.

Interview!

And I am not even Jewish.

Ok, bad joke, bad joke.

I really apologize if this is somewhere else on the thread already, but what days of the week does Sinai interview?

Thanks and sorry again if this was posted before!

the status check website just shows that your secondary is complete right? how are you guys finding out about interviews?? email? thanks!!

Is anyone here an MSTP student??? I received an interview invite and I'm super nervous!!! Any advice anyone??? Thanks 😱

MSTP interviews are COMPLETELY different from what you'll read on this thread. I'll post here in case others stumble upon this:

It's a 2 day process.
You arrive around 1pm, they have some info sessions, you go on a tour, you have one interview with a faculty member, one interview with a student, a reception with the MTA directors and students, you attend the monthly dinner research seminar (usually a senior student presenting some of his work) that all MD/PhDs go to, there will be 1st or 2nd year students hosting a get together following the seminar in Aron hall (pretty much all 1st/2nd years go, a few older ones will too). A van takes everyone to the hotel at 9.

The next day, you wake up, they bring you back to Sinai at 8:30am for breakfast, you'll have 2 interviews in the morning, lunch with students and faculty, then 2 interviews in the afternoon, then a little wrap up session and the day is over around 3:30 I think.

All interviews are 45 mins (except the student is 30), and 2 of them must be with official admissions committee members (the others just report to the committee). They should have asked you to list 10 profs you want to meet. If by chance you select AdCom members, you can have all your interviewers be from your list (this happened to me), if you don't, you'll notice at least 2 people whom you definitely didn't pick.

As with all MD/PhD interview days, it can be pretty exhausting by the end, but obviously I really enjoyed mine...

Thank you very much for your response, I haven't received the schedule yet so thanks for giving me the run down.

i submitted my secondary on august 12, but my letters didn't get in until september 1

Interview invite today for early November! Short notice much? Not to mention it's my first interview and my top choice school. I also never received a "complete" email, so for those of you who never did, it's not a big deal. 🙂

Is anyone here interviewing on Nov. 2? This is my first OOS interview and first time going to NYC and I'm super excited!😀

anyone going to be around this wed? i get into nyc pretty early. would like to explore the area and stuff if anyone is interested

has anyone had luck with the in area emails? I sent one 3 weeks ago. Apparently didn't work.

Did anyone receive a rejection letter yet? Do they send rejections by snail mail or email?

Is there any way to go to the school from Megabus station
for the interview except taxi ?
How much will it be for taxi in case ?
Arrive New York, 7th Ave & 28th St

I would take a cab, at least on the way there - will run you about $15-20 and will save you the stress of navigating public transportation / the possibility of being late.

If you must, take public transportation on the way back; the public transportation option on Google Maps Directions is very helpful. Just a thought!

How much time do you have between arrival and your interview? If you have more than an hour and you want to get a sense of what NYC is like, I would walk to Broadway (that's one block eastward from 7th Avenue/34th), take any of the Yellow lines (N R Q) in the Queens-bound direction, get off at Lexington Ave and transfer to the uptown 6 train. You can either get off at 96th street or 103rd--I think they're about the same distance--and the walk should be about 10 minutes from the stop.

The whole trip shouldn't take more than 40 minutes, but give yourself the hour to be safe. 😉

Hey guys. I received an interview invite email from the school about 2 months ago for my interview on this Friday.
But I was just getting worried, since the application website doesn't confirm my interview appointment and the secondary website gives you no info on your application status. Should I just trying calling them?

Did you ever email them confirming that you would attend the interview?

On the same note, are we supposed to email the admissions office? I used the Email Response Form, a link at the end of the interview invitation email...

Thanks for your big help(^ ^).

Hmm, how close a shave do they cut in confirming student hosting? Interview in ~2.5weeks, and I'm starting to get a little nervous about last-minute housing issues. . .

At the end of the email, it seemed pretty clear and said: "DO NOT REPLY to this email using your email system's Reply button as your reply will not reach the program." So I just used their internal system as well. A bit scary because you can't confirm that you confirmed, but I bet their system works pretty well if that's what they want us to use.

Sorry for the confusion, I was referring to the Email response form, not the actual admissions office. If you did that, then you should be fine

I want to interview here! I've been complete since mid August though. Anyone know of anyone who knows anyone who has gotten an interview after over 2 months?

Yay i'm so excited!, invite, complete mid september, but I'm struggling a little interviewing at the day that was given, anyone know when the last days to interview in december are?

Haha, I had directly responded to it and not via the internal system. uh-oh. Well, I interviewed and everything went well so I guess they don't put too much stock into it.

Or I am already rejected.
