Interview invite for 2/16! CheA, I think I got the spot you opened up--thank you very, very much! Extremely excited, and can't believe my luck.
Congrats to everyone! Painterly, did you send an update letter as well?

Happy to hear about everyone getting all those interview invites!!! Good luck!
For those of you who submitted update letters, did you use the "Free Form Response" link that was in the e-mail confirming that they received your application?

Although I didn't send an update letter, I sent an 'In the Area' email to [email protected] back in December. Received an invite about 3 weeks later. I didn't ever get a confirmation that they received my email, but I'm assuming they probably did because they scheduled my interview for when I said I would be in the area.
Naked pictures?I actually did send an update letter, with pictures included. I think schools always like to have some indication of whether or not applicants are really interested.

Hey guys,
So I was invited for an interview just now, but I am not sure about going to an interview relatively late in the "season."
Is Mt Sinai interviewing for wait-list spots at this point, or is the class still not full?
If the class is full, I wouldn't want to waste my time and also take away an opportunity from someone else to potentially get in. On the other hand, if there are still spots, I would love to go and check out the city and the school.
Should I just call the admissions office and ask if the class is full? 😕 Is that even a good idea?
Thanks for any help!

Oh! Didn't mean to cause confusion. I sent in some pictures of a vastly underfunded hospital I'd visited while abroad. I was already describing the hospital in detail in the update letter, so I figured I'd include some pictures to show them what I'm describing. Most premed update-letter activities, for sure, wouldn't necessarily involve picture-taking, but this seemed like an unusual case.

the last day is 3/9. they interview tues-friday. but the dates after 3/2 are all full. that's probably why they said 3/2 is the last day. they only told me it ends 3/9 because i asked if i would be possible to schedule for 3/14 or so.

Ah, I see.
turns out I was wrong! 3/2 is the last day. i don't think that all invites are necessarily gone because when i called to reschedule i was given the option of choosing an earlier date (i don't know which ones or how many are open).
i forgot to ask if the class was already full...

My dream school.
I'm still a few years away from applying (just turned 20!) but I have a general idea of my GPA" 3.6ish.
What will I need to score on the MCAT to gain admittance, do you guys think?
I think we would need a lot more information about you before we even begin to give our opinion. And even then, I don't think we could be very helpful.
A 3.6 is low for Mount Sinai (their median is 3.8, 10th percentile is 3.51), so if you're going purely by numbers then you would probably want an MCAT score several SDs above the national average. For what it's worth: the median at MS is 36. I'd aim for above that if you want a chance with a 3.6. Study hard.

Just want some closure already... Why are they so sluggish even with rejections?
Just noticed all the posts saying they got an II right after sending an update letter. Same thing happened to me, and I thought it was just coincidence. Go figure!

What did you guys all say in your update letter? I sent one and no response :/
I just spoke about what I'd been up to since I sent my previous update three months earlier. In the previous message I talked about research I was going to be starting soon, and in this one I was actually able to talk about what I've been doing with the research job. And just updates of my other random office/teaching jobs. And said I was still really interested in attending. What did you guys all say in your update letter? I sent one and no response :/

How long did it take to receive your II after submitting your update letter?
Thanks for the info!

Hey guys,
So I am trying to figure out if Mount Sinai is true pass/fail in the first two years (no internal ranking, no AOA, no mention of pre-clinical rank in the Dean's letter).
Does anyone know this?
I've been trying to look through old threads but haven't been too successful. 😳

These posts by MSTPlease (in this thread) might help clear that up:

Sounds like it is truly pass/fail in the first two years.

Interview invite this morning, after being complete since mid August. Assigned date was 2/29. Would have loved to check out the school awhile back but i already burned all my interview attire to ceremonialize the ending of this interviewing process.

Hey im new to SDN! I was placed on the waitlist back in December here and was wondering if anyone knew if there is any info on the likelihood of getting off it after May and how can you get off the waitlist successfully?
I'm in the same position and would love to know more about waitlist movement.
Just got rejected pre-interview. Good luck to everyone waiting to hear back!
how did you hear about this?
