Invited for interview about 7 minutes ago..IS here
Interviewing on December 7th at 8:30am
My stats, etc. are on the profile!

I juSt got this email too...as a side note does anyone know how many they interview and how many they accept?
Seconded! I'm wondering if they interview fewer than other medical schools since they will be taking in fewer students. I've heard somewhere in the vicinity of ~20 to ~30 direct entry students are accepted.

I have good stats, but I'm worried about my odds since they only accept so many direct entry students! I really want to go there though since my sister goes there already...
wish me luck :xf: my interview is on Wednesday!

(haha only a pre-med forum would have fingers crossing as an emoticon.)

Well then, I will see you there then! Are you at 8:30 or 11:45? How are you getting there? I will be driving the day before from Columbus and staying in a hotel. Do you know of any hotels nearby?
It should not be a bad interview (from the looks of it in the interview feedback) I will be doing some research on this school once i get done with my finals 😀

10:45! I am driving up the night before, and staying over at my sister's place! Like I said, she goes there (technically right now she's a C2 so she is at Akron, but it's a short drive). Unfortunately, that means I do not know of any hotels nearby.

From the interview feedback it seems like a reasonably relaxed interview, but im still nervous!

Eh, got something that said that I'm still being considered. Good news, I hope =)

Not sure if I have a chance of getting in. I already graduated from college. GPA better than average for the MD/BS program. My degree in on Science

Can anyone give me advice if this medical school is good? not a lot of knowledge if the med school you attend matters?

I appreciate any of your info.

😕

So I interviewed here today and loved the hospitality! The campus was great and so was the curriculum! I interviewed at 8.30 and everything went smooth! Just dont panic, future interviewers! It is a really easy and simple day! Enjoy and good luck!

I'm a student in my C2 year at one of the three schools that feeds into NEOMED through the BS/MD program. I just thought I'd mention that I know of at least six students from my school who are planning to take a C3 year. These are in addition to those who have left the program. I'm not sure if that makes you feel any better, but hey, there are some more spots for y'all. I hope to see y'all next year. 🙂

I'll take one of those spots.

Letter today, was put on the alternate list for direct entry.

Interviewed 10/6, accepted 12/21 for direct entry. Excited, I really liked NEOMED.

I am thrilled to be accepted into the NEOMED BS/MD program. I had friends who were not accepted. Anyone else out there who received their letter last week? I know the competition was really tough. I will be interested in seeing the 'stats' on the applicants.🙂

Apparently there are two application review phases at NEOMED: one from August-December and another from January-March. Considering the school's need to determine BS/MD attrition, incorporation of their new partnership programs (two that I've read about on their website), and so forth, I wouldn't lose my mind if you haven't been interviewed yet. Keep the good news coming!

Thank you for your patience thus far in the application process with the Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED). You are receiving this update because you are still under consideration as an applicant for our college. Thus far, we have interviewed roughly one-third of the applicants that we plan to interview for this application cycle. So you can see that there are still many interviews yet to be done! Despite starting with Regular Action interviews in October, a majority of our interview will take place between January and March.

Due to an upcoming winter break at our school, there are no interviews scheduled for the upcoming weeks but we will continue with interviews again in mid-January. If selected for interview, you will be contacted by e-mail as a first point of contact so please let us know if your contact information has changed since filling out your AMCAS application. Similarly, if you would like to let us know of a change in your status as an applicant to our school or give us any updates to your application, please respond to this e-mail with that information.

Stay tuned for future updates from NEOMED. In the meantime, stay warm during the upcoming winter months!

Assistant Director, Enrollment Services

which campus?

out of 103 candidates who interviewed 28 got deferred. 52 people have ACT above 32. Anyone who had an ACT score less than 31 will have tough time getting into the program. In regular session there are only 30 spots left and competition will be more fierce. From the waiting list of the deferred candidates I sure some will get in but it depends upon how many people who got in are not willing to stay in this program. My guess is 10 to15 students from waiting list will get there acceptance letter in may. These are the stats according to my analysis.
Glad I am in too...

Congrats to both of you for getting in, and good luck to everyone still waiting!

I was just wondering if anyone that has interviewed here this year could tell me a little bit more about what to expect in the interview. Are the questions more general or file specific? Any ethical questions etc.?

I am definitely interested in this school and any advice on how to prepare would be greatly appreciated🙂!

Very general questions, mostly based on the file..a few why NEOMED, why us, etc..
Hope that helps and if not, look at the interview feedback on here..the have lists of questions from past interviewers!

Thanks! I am also interviewing here, and I was wondering what the day's schedule is like. I was thinking they would tell us in the confirmation email, but they never did. Are the interviews in the morning? Is there a tour? Lunch with med students?

Thank you...the interview feedback all seemed kind of outdated so I just wanted to make sure that I heard from someone who had interviewed recently.

When i confirmed interview, there were 2 time slots and I chose the time at 8:30am. You will receive the schedule when you go there, but first we were taken to the conference room, short presentation, questions and answers, financial aid and then split into 2 groups. 1 group had interviews while the other had the campus tour. then we all got together for lunch with med students, mingled and they answered the questions!
dont worry, you will love the campus if you r from ohio area! relax and u will do great!

I think the questions were more or less the same from that database! Also make sure you know a few things about the healthcare system too, that might come in handy

are you going in as an undergrad for the bs/md or did you get direct entry? it is different.

alright. had to check, the whole bs/md program is a bit different to get into than the md. direct entry is has very few people accepted each year.

NEOMED BS/MD Interview - Has anybody received interview letter or email for NEOMED BS/MD program regular admission.Their website says they will be sending them in early Feb.

The last thing I heard for Direct Entry candidates was mid-late December. No interview invite or status update since then... but no rejection letter either. Has anyone else gotten a status update?

My husband is applying for Direct Entry and received an interview invitation last Monday. His interview is scheduled for this week.

He submitted his secondary right at the deadline and didn't receive any communication other than the December update and the interview invitation email. Earlier this month he chatted with the pre-med advisor at Cleveland State, who told him Neomed was a little backed up. Perhaps this is the reason for the delay in extending invitations to interview.

To be honest, I would have appreciated this information before I interviewed, and since most NEOMED students (i.e. BS/MD) are unlikely to be perusing these boards, I thought I would share some things that I learned at NEOMED's Direct Entry interview:

Structure of the day:

You will have one 30-minute interview with two faculty members. It is very conversational. They will not have access to your MCAT or grades.

You will also have a financial aid information session, a brief curriculum overview, a tour, and lunch with current Direct Entry students. The order of your activities is random, though.

The grading is H/P/F and podcasts (audio) of the classes are given after class.

They also said that they were interviewing like 140 people, and would likely give out around 100 acceptances. They didn't say how many have interviewed, but I am guessing around half that they expect to interview, have already interviewed. So if you get an interview, you have a great shot. I would expect that they will interview in March, April, and maybe even May.

Good luck to everyone who is still waiting!

I'll take one of those spots.

Letter today, was put on the alternate list for direct entry.

I will be interviewing at NEOMED in less than 2 weeks. Did they let you know where you were on the alternate list when you got your letter? Do you also know how many applicants they are interviewing and accepting? Thanks for your input on SDN!

They told my husband they were interviewing 150 for direct entry, have 20 reserved direct entry spots and after the committee meeting in March they will start offering acceptances. They expect around 100 out of the 150 to be offered admission or placed on the waiting list. They also said that they could see as many as 50 (though probably closer to 40) get in through direct entry once the BS/MD students are finalized. Some of the BS/MD students will go for a 3rd year prior to starting the MD portion of the program and their spots will be offered to direct entry students. Overall, it sounds like they will accept the most qualified, reject the least qualified, and everyone else will just go into a pool called the waiting list.

Interviewed back in October. Got the letter around Christmas (great present). Letter said that the final alt list will be done in late March, which is when they'll let everyone know their position. There was nine in my interviewing group, and I think they do 2-3 groups on an interview day.

Good luck!

My friend who did not get in with early decision was offered another chance at 2 of the other universities. He/she will be interviewing this month for a spot as a regular decision. I wonder if any students turned down their early acceptance admission?

From how I interpreted the Early Decision Program, the applicant designates a school as their "first choice"; if they get in, they commit to go there. If they're declined or rolled into the traditional applicant pool, they're free to look at other programs.

I could be completely wrong on that, though; and I'm only looking at the Direct Entry MD program. BS/MD may have a different process.

Hi Guys! I hope you all the best of luck with your applications. Me and two other guys already received our acceptance letters, and found a place to stay 5 mins near NEOMED. We are looking for one more roommate (male), for a Four Bedroom, 2 Bath House only a few miles from there, after much searching. Rent would be 275 + utilities. Please pm me here if anyone is interested! 🙂

Acceptance call at about 2.30pm..I was on waitlist initially!
There is still hope! 🙂
My dates and numbers are in the MedApps!

My husband also received a call today around 2:30 stating that he was accepted. They said the admissions committee met this morning. He interviewed 2 weeks ago - a non-traditional student. Good luck to everyone still waiting!!!

The same thing happened to me about a month ago...funny how that happens. Congrats!

I was also accepted off the wait-list last week. Grats ya'll!

Does anyone know whether interviews conducted after Feb. 15th were for waitlist spots or acceptances? I heard that in the past interviews conducted in the spring were for waitlist spots, but I could be wrong. No one on from the admissions office mentioned anything about interviewing for the waitlist, but I am just skeptical since it is getting late in the application cycle. Does anyone know anything about this?

Sent my $100 on 21st February, deadline was March 2nd!
